This unit replaced a Garmin Nuvi 255WT that I used for several years. I recently used it on a 360 mile road trip, and overall it was more helpful than the old GPS, however the screen isn't as sharp as the 255WT. Adjusting the contrast helped a little, but the screen image was partially washed out by the sun. I believe this newer model has a different case design that exposes more of the screen to sunlight, which causes the wash out. A shade placed over the top of the unit will probably correct this for me, but should customers have to make these modifications? Garmin dropped the ball on this issue, but otherwise it did not disappoint.

I recently purchased this GPS when I was having a hard time updating my Magellan GPS unit. With lifetime maps and traffic this unit is a great choice.

So far I've had nothing but fun with this GARMIN,. info was accurate and I received exactly what I was hoping for. plus free downloadable stuff on the GARMIN website. LUV IT !!!!

This is the best GPS I found I use it every day at work and when I am not at work a love the Bluetooth on it

I like this GPS much better than my first GPS, I really like the split screen and I have found it easy to use. Like having the lifetime updates for free.

bluetooth is amazing answers your calls while your still getting direction.

This is a wonderful product. I wish I had bought it a long time ago. While it sometimes takes the "long" way, it is surprisingly accurate and effective.

As expected some maps may take some time to update. Only complaint is maps not recognizing pavement vs. seasonal roads. Over-all a very good unit. Voice command works very well.

I updated from an old Tom Tom due to it was just crazy to pay about $80.00 for one map update. I really liked my old device but did not have fee traffic or map updates. So this time that is what I was looking for. I found a Garmin on sale on Walmart's deal of the day, it had what I was looking for, but was last years model. I got it and tried it out. The window mount was terrible and just over all not a good GPS. I did some more reviewing and decided to give this model a try. I ended up paying full price but, as it so happened to be that the store was doing 5x points during that time. So, I earned a lot of rewards $. I have been using this model since the the first week of Jan 2014 I believe. The mount on this model is SO MUCH BETTER. You just apply to windshield, clip GPS on and off. That was the part that was missing with other model, sorry not sure which one I had. I have had a few cases where the GPS has told me some wrong directions, but l knew where I was going. Over all, I have been happy. With this model. It is worth the extra money to get a better product.

If you want a basic GPS this is it. However, the new Garmin Nuvicam LMT HD with forward collision and lane departure warnings is way better. However, you'll be paying $399.00.

This not my first GPS, but it is my first Garmin. Had I known how great it is, it would have been my 5th. I will never go back to my former GPS. I found it uncomplicated and that is very important to me. I especially like the voice command. Thank you.

We were purchasing a new Garmin GPS to replace a 4 year old unit which needed to have its software upgraded. I was initially attracted to this product because it offered free lifetime map updates. The unit includes a feature to notify you about heavy traffic ( not always accurate). The new GPS has good graphics, better access for stored addresses, and a much more pleasant voice system. You no longer have the irritate each, repetitive "reprogramming,reprogramming" voice over whenever you stray from the GPS guided directions. A great product for a good price.

Bought it for my dad who does not understand technology. It works great for him because he uses the voice command and does not have to touch it.

Replaced my older one as this one has more features and lifetime traffic & Maps. I actually purchased 2 of them and gave one to my wife for Christmas.

My old GPS used to tell me to turn at the wrong times. Once it wanted me to drive into the Atlantic ocean. This one hasn't steered me wrong yet.

I love this GPS system as it allows me to use my cars Bluetooth to set up new locations. I also love the ability to sync and use my phone with it.

After my ancient Garmin finally died I sought this one out and found it to be exactly as advertised. Good basic, solid unit. Excellent product.

overall is a great gps for the money, I decided to trust this one instead of magellan with same features {smart-gps) reason why the other one is much more fragile but the rearview camera conectivity makes it tempting. if you are not looking for this particular feature I suggest you get this one you can make and receive calls it conects with your phone and gives you reference of places like turn right at the burger king, wich is really cool for city (less you have to be reading street names if you are not familiar with the area) plus the trip planer. I saved over 15 different routes with about 35 different locations each. Plus has a memory slot in case you need more. I used this for my job and my personal use no complaints so far..
