Very good gps I like it a lot!!!! It is very easy to use

Very good, inexpensive GPS. Very good, fast, satellite connection. Google graphics. The screen is a little small but workable unless your eyesight is bad (you should've be driving in that case).

Awesome device, I never leave home without it. Since I bought this gps I have not got lost from losing my signal like I do with my cell phone.

Originally purchased another Garmin model that did not do multiple destinations. Upgraded to the 2597, and this worked really well. Step by step directions are better than my old Tom Tom.

The voice control of the unit makes it a perfect and safer hands free GPS. On occasion you have to repeat your request. Otherwise its perfect.

For the most part I like the Garmin. Don't know why it doesn't come with some written directions on how to use. Trial and error basically. Bought a stick to the window holder which doesn't stick. Disappointed in that.

The Garmin is the best out there the GPS is on point and way butter than your . Cellphone and you will be on time the Garmin till you when there when is back up so . I say you go Garmin

I find that it is a little late when it tells me to turn. Just today it told me to turn as i was passing my intersection, i had to turn around and go back. It does an ok job at helping me get close to where i am going.

Bought this to use on a vacation trip in the Boston area. Couldn't be more pleased as it got me out of Logan International in a wicked thunderstorm with heavy traffic after dark out to Route 1 and eventually I-95 heading north towards Portland, Maine. This is a great GPS which is extremely easy to set up and use. Also used it successfully for a number of side trips.

Here is my list of "wrongs" for Garmin Nuvi 2597 1. The device's sound is not as loud as the one of 360W when the units are compared side by side - and I have no hearing impairment. I would estimate the sound as insufficient. 2. The device gave improper location for the building I was driving to, both in a real life driving and in simulations (all maps and software are up to date). 3. The device shows "arrived at destination on left", while the "left is across the highway which makes it somewhat challenging to identify as an "arrival". 4. During the update, the device produced a warning message indicating that 80% of its memory is full (sic!) and suggested to consider additional memory (new device with 80% memory already used!). 5. The device is improperly advertized as the lightest in the industry: it is "the lightest" when weighted without the ridiculous magnetic blub. 6. Use of the magnet raises my concern since the device comes with a warning message indicating that this magnet may negatively influence other electronic devices. Also, magnet holder is not as firm as the actual physical holder and it can be demagnetized over the time ("good thing" - will make the user to purchase a new one!).

I bought this to be able to use in a rental car when I traveled out of state. It performed very well and was accurate in getting me to the exact location. I would suggest changing the base to the Garmin sandbag style and place it on the dashboard, especially considering some states do not allow GPS units to be attached to the windshield. I would like to change the voice but I did not see a way of doing that.

some times it does not understand voice places so have to put it in by hand. but others wise don't know how I lived without it this long.

Works well, gives enough time before turn, says the name of the street to turn on. I updated maps but still can't find my daughter's new apartment in Roanoke. Only google maps can find

A very nice device, but two things that I found lacking: 1) I could not find any way to have it show me the miles to go until I reached my destination and 2) the live traffic feature failed repeatedly on an 800 mile trip during the holidays. I was deep into the traffic issue before anything came up on this unit. These things might not bother others, but it was enough for me to return it to the store.

I bought this for my wife and we used it on a recent trip to AZ. I was so impressed I don't know if I am going to get the navigation system with my next car. I may just get the garmen gps

We bought this for our daughter for Christmas and it has been a great investment. The Bluetooth feature makes it safer for her to answer her phone and gives us peace of mind when she's out on the road. Wish we would of bought this for her when she first started driving. I recommend this unit for anyone who drives a car without navigation or hands free phone ability.

There seems to be some small glitch in the system as my car seems to going over buildings then after 15 min it auto correct itself. other then that it works great. Even with the update the map its not accurate.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this GPS. It has performed superbly -- picks up satellites quickly and calculates routes quickly as well. The life-time updates are a must. I highly recommend.

We rent a car when going on vacation and they never have a navigation system. This is a great portable device. Helps find restaurants, sports facilities, etc. easily with just a few commands. I was worried about voice command after some poor reviews, but was happily surprised at how well it worked. Only complaint-It does not give you as much advance warning "in certain circumstances" as my navigation system in my car. Majority of the time-no problem. (Maybe just what I'm used to).

This is the best Garmin I've had the pleasure of using. The voice activated guidance works very well for safe, hands-free operation. Lifetime map updates makes it an even better bargain!
