Really like this new model - newer features are great and the unit is easy to use. Great bonus of having lifetime map updates which our older one did not have.

Identifies landmarks like, "Turn left at the traffic light, after the Exxon station." Recalculates quickly if you miss a turn or decide to take a different route. I'm extremely happy with this item.

He started a new job where he needs to get around a lot about town. He's not the best remembering directions so this little device sure comes in handy for him so he can be on time for his appointments. Thank You Garmin!

Along with giving the standard route will re-route you around traffic jams, which saved me hours on a recent trip. The only problem I've had with it is that sometimes programming destinations into it can be a bit clunky, but that's a minor inconvenience. I'm very pleased with it.

I have GPS built into my car, and this system has many more options. We found both points of interests and restaurants easily.

Most of the time it gets you there but in the least efficient way possible. The best us for this device is for places that you have no idea how to get to and don't have a clue as to the most efficient path. The traffic option is marginal and you still get caught in bad traffic. Still it's the best of the bunch, what a travesty!

Your device has a similar feature but it is named differently. In order to for your device to create an alternative route based off of the traffic information it is receiving, your device settings would need to have the "optimize route" feature selected in the Traffic settings. Also, please keep in mind since the traffic information is not reported nor broadcasted by Garmin, Garmin is not responsible for the accuracy or timeliness of the traffic information. However if your device constantly does not receive traffic information, there may be an issue with the traffic receiver and Garmin would need to address that issue. If your device does not get traffic information, please use the Garmin FAQ link below to help address that issue.

Also, you may manually inform the device to take an alternative route. Please use the step below to complete this short process.
1. while navigating a route, select the menu button
2. select Traffic
3. select Alternative Route
4. select Go.
