Not sure why I hadn't picked a Garmin before. Good direction instructions and enjoy the 'voice command' prompts. Had it for several weeks now and I just simply enjoy the unit

From everything I read online and from what my dad has told me about his this is the best gps for the price perfect screen size and built in Bluetooth come on no brainer

Garmin's GPS has been in industry for some years now, and Garmin seems to release new models often with new improvements, it is why I chose it. This GPS was purchased for a long trip as a start, overall it did its job well. The good things I like about it: 1. easy to use for a new user to start. 2. it is pretty accurate to get to the destination. The things can be improved: 1. When driving to the wrong turn or exit, it will automatically re-calculate new route. It is a feature. But sometimes it will be nice to have an option to allow driver to correct it by telling driver how to go back to original route or take a simple u-turn back, then continue the original route. 2. Voice Command does not always work for us, probably it is because I have accent when speaking English. Well...it turned out to be a fun thing for us because my kids treated it as a game to see who can make it understand the voice commands and do the tasks we told it. It is fun while driving a long trip.

Takes some getting used to, but really like the GPS. The travel- delay information is helpful but Alternative routes options requires common sense. More Trial and error will enhance functinality.

Bought this Garmin for vacation in California and without it we would have been lost for a week! The Garmin never missed greeting us where we were going. The real view lane assist was awesome for someone not used to 5 lane traffic. The live traffic updates let us know what was ahead. The voice recognition misses sometimes but makes easy no hands programming. Read the manual and it has many useful features. Won't go to the city without.

We have bought a few of the Garmin portable GPS units and I highly recommend. Incredibly easy to use and works well. Love when it helps to avoid traffic congestion.

Needed to replace a very old gps unit. Got the Garmin 2597LMT as a Black Friday Deal -- Best Buy had the best price!!! I have used the GPS a few times. It is extremely accurate and is very easy to use. You can even give it Voice Commands. Unfortunately it does not always understand your voice commands but it is very entertaining to see the choices it comes up with! I highly recommend this GPS! It is a lot cheaper than purchasing in car navigation and you can take it with you!

Great easy to use out of the box! Programing was fast and easy too! Bluetooth links to your cell phone for hands free talking.

The screen is just the right size for me. It is not the HD screen, but it is more than adequate for any driving conditions I have experienced. The 3D or pictorial views when following a route are helpful and I've found them to be pretty accurate. A quick glance at the screen tells you what to expect ahead, for example you need to be in the right lane and 2 out of 5 lanes in front of you are usable for your exit. For me personally, I wish there was an easy way to have LAT and LON show on the screen, but I don't think most people would use it. That is probably why it doesn't have that display option.

Though still relatively new, this GPS is a winner for me. I'm not a techi by any stretch of the imagination but once I took this stuff out of the box, I was ready to go, with minimum programming, and on to a long distance trip of a place I was completely unfamiliar with and helped me navigate all the zigs and zags to my destination. Its 5-inch screen, though not very wide, projected bright colors and I could read everything clearly. And I didn't have to read much because the voice command was very clear and accurate and I just followed it. I know it has quite a few features that I'm yet to explore.

Voice command works reasonably well, navigation is spot on, traffic works fairly well compared to a magellan smart gps, android app is great for shooting over addresses and many other things, great screen layout. If I had more money I would have spent more for a 3597 with the capacitive 800x480 screen, but this one is just fine. Garmin is the way to go, I've tried two magellans and they don't even come close.

Great GPS, you can talk to GPS instead of typing and get routes. Real time traffic information. Good screen size

Amazing product with all rich features packed in one bundle.only drawback i think as of now is short battery life if all time plugged in good product to buy. would recommend to all.

I have 2 other Garmin devices both 3 years old that are great. This is a even better device. Great upgrade and much easier to use. Highly recommended!!!

I am very pleased with this item. It works wonderfully and it is so easy to use. This item was a gift but need to replace ours as I love it so much.

We purchased this portable GPS just prior to taking a cross-country tour from Michigan to Nevada. Since this 5,000 mile trip was over previously untraveled roads, we relied on this Garmin 2597 LMT to avoid lost time and poor route decisions. With virtually no prior experience with this product we found it readily usable, easy to operate, and flawless in its performance.

I love my Garmin GPS! It is easy to use and this model gives you up to date traffic reports as well.

I started a new job recently in an area I'm not very familiar with and the job requires frequent meetings at various locations. I'd never had a GPS before...never needed one. But after starting the new job I tried using printed directions and that was just a pain in the rear. I used my phone a few time but that was impractical plus a drain on my battery and data usage. So I gave in and bought a GPS. Initially got got the nuvi 52LM. It was a manageable price and would get me places. But I started having second thoughts immediately because it lacked a lot of extra features. I used it the next day and when I realized there was no route choice option I was disappointed. Whenever I'd printed maps I could pick a route I knew would avoid busy areas. So I went back the next day and traded it in for the 2597LMT. I'm glad I did. I find it much more helpful. The route choice option is great. Now I can avoid the route with the busy highway with ease. The voice command and Bluetooth are nice features too. I have t had much use for the traffic option yet but I'm sure it'll come in helpful. Is this the perfect GPS? No. It's not HD with a shiny screen so you lose a bit there. Those of you used to smartphones and tablets will find the touch screen a bit primitive. But for a mid range mid priced GPS I've been very happy with it. It was definitely worth the extra $60 it cost me over the 52LM.
