This is my first gps. The display is good and the volume is clear. Voice command is not perfect but it can be very useful at times when driving in a highway and you need new info or routes. Traffic feature, in my experience, gives information that there is an additional minutes of delay in your route. I usually go to the fastest route so the gps does not give me alternative routes. I have not experienced being asked by the gps if I want an alternative route. Im not sure if this gps has that feature. But using the voice command you can command the gps for a reroute and it will give you an alternative route. One time I was driving at I90 and it warned me of an 8 minute delay in 7 miles. I've driven more than 10 miles but the gps still says there is a delay in 7 miles. I like that it gives me the names of some establishments before or after a turn. Smartphone link does not work well. It does not maintain connection with my phone. Overall this gps does the job of giving directions.

The Garmin 2597 is a good GPS. I've taken it to Hawaii, and it quickly found the satellite. The voice recognition is not 100% (well, it's about 50%), but even expensive phones sometimes have difficulty with that. My prior version of Garmin seemed like it operated more efficiently. If you were looking for a street or business, it started by looking in the State you were currently in. The 2597 looks like it does a Nationwide search of the street name you speak, and can show streets thousands of miles away from you if it misunderstood the name spoken.

I have had this unit for about a month now and I have had no issues with it so far. I like how it is very easy to use. When I am searching for a particular place or street, it will auto-suggest several choices that best fit what you have entered. Very please so far.

Needs a more sensitive screen but otherwise nice. Haven't tried the traffic yet. I'm assuming it works.

It works well easy to use turn by turn notification should be a little quicker otherwise all is good

Is a very nice GPS, the only thing is, need to improve the design of the GPS Stand to make it perfect.

A good GPS with Blue tooth. It is easier to understand on calls than my previous GPS.

Does a terrific job of navigation. Has not yet failed to get me where I'm going.

I got one of these and loved it so much I got one for my 80 year old Mother in law. She can use it and loves the clear directions espically when it comes to highway intersections w/ color real time photos of what lane to be in.

I bought this GPS as a gift for my sister-in-law, a tech novice. She loves it!

I bought it because of the split screen which helps enormously in busy areas like Washington DC.

Excellent replacement for my older Garmin which gave out after 10 plus years.
