This was one of 2 options. Smaller appliances = less power, this is to be expected. It takes a lot longer to heat items up. The disappointing thing is that in less than a year, the microwave exploded (see flash and smoke and large burnt side) when melting butter. No foil or metal inside. Good news? GE replaced the microwave with the same unit. If you are limited on options, buy with caution- but if you have other options- go that route. Based on experience with GE, I would buy another one of their products and assume the initial microwave was a fluke.

This microwave seems to work fine but is very small. I have to exchange it for a bigger one in order fit larger size bowls and plates into it.
