Best Buy offered a $60 refund or a new fridge. Now I either take a lowball refund or have to move all items out of the fridge and take a half day out to wait for delivery. Disappointing customer service.

Posted .For refrigerators to maintain the proper temperature, the compressor will run most of the time. They now have compressors that are designed to run 80% to 90% of the time making them more energy efficient because the greatest amount of energy is used when the compressor cycles on as opposed to when the compressor is running. This design also ensures consistent temperatures in the fresh food and freezer sections. We do offer descriptions of the normal sounds you can expect to hear on Page 19 of the Owner's Manual. If you click on the Features tab and scroll all the way down, you'll see a link to the manual. When the icemaker is filling with water, the water valve opens and can make a buzzing or humming type of sound that lasts for about 8 seconds every 1- 1 1/2 hours. Went with no frills refrigerator hoping to avoid future problems and repairs. This replaced a 2 year old side by side LG that the compressor stopped working. Part under warranty but not labor. Hope to get more problem free years with this refrigerator.
