Customers are saying

Customers appreciate the stainless steel tub of this 24" front control tall tub built-in dishwasher. However, some customers find that the wash cycles take a long time to complete. This extended cycle time is a significant drawback for some users. Improvements in cycle efficiency would be a welcome enhancement.

Over all this is a good dishwasher. On the plus side the price compared to other models is very reasonable. I had two other Ge models (profile which lasted 6 years due to a safety recall and a cafe model that lasted for four years) that cost twice as much as this model. I opted for lower cost thinking that I will only get few years out of dishwashers so why pay so much. So far It has performed as well as my other two models. On the negative side the tub size is too small, takes much longer to wash but I think that is due to all the regulations and not GE's fault. Also the new design of baskets makes it hard to fit different size dishes.

Love the design and features listed in the description and the price. I'm having difficulty getting the results I expected, based on the description of features. Mainly, no need to rinse dishes before using machine. If I don't rinse, they don't get really clean. I never had to pre rinse with my 20yr old machine we replaced. My glasses and silverware came out better in the old machine. I'm still experimenting with different cycles and ways to load the machine. Hopefully I'll get the right combination figured out. Cycles are very long. Haven't had the machine long enough to know if I would recommend it to a friend. If I figure out how to get better results, I would, otherwise not.

Cleans great but the arrangement is not so great

My prior GE Profile dishwasher worked beautifully and was so easy to arrange the dishes for washing. This new replacement dishwasher has been a huge disappointment for me. First, it's smaller inside than I realized or maybe it's the arrangement that makes it feel smaller. The flatware/utensil holders are on the outside of the racks. There are slots to place the flatware and if your flatware is larger than the slots then you have to remove these devices. The guides for placing plates, bowls, etc. are bent out at a weird angle and the dishes don't stack easily but tend to lean in weird positions. I literally took the rack out and bent the prongs to an upright position so the dishes would stack easier. On my third use of this dishwasher I opened the door only to find that a large plastic spatula had somehow gotten out of the utensil holder and fallen down on top of the heating element. As you can guess, the handle melted to the heating element. I can't just remove this because the plastic melted completely around the element. Now I have to make a service call to have them take care of this issue. This is only the third time I've used the doggone thing and already an issue. I didn't do my research well enough before purchasing this model of dishwasher. GE dropped the ball on this one as far as I'm concerned.

This machine takes an enormous amount of time to go through any cycle. It is hard to load because of the tines in the racks. Small items do not have a place they can fit as did my older ge dishwasher. I am very disappointed in this dishwasher. Also, even with the heated drying, the inside of the dishwasher stays wet unless you use jetdry, finish or some other drying agent.

This Dishwasher is the most quiet one we have ever owned..All dishes, silverware, glassware come out sparkling clean. Cleaning cycle is a little longer than our old one, but very happy with our purchase.

I did not think I'd like the silverware individual slots with the baskets out in front, but it really cleans better that way and does not take any more time to load or unload. I am happy with the quality and did not have to spend alot

    WORST DISHWASHER EVER

I have had this dishwasher for less than a year and it doesn't work. The soap dispenser does not always open or it opens but the soap is not dispensed and just dribbles down the inside of the door. I have called in multiple trouble tickets. They have replaced the computer and the dispenser and have ordered another new computer and dispenser because the problem hasn't stopped. When I called GE to complain that I have had the unit repaired too many times and would like a replacement, they said if it is reparable, they will not replace it. I explained that it is not reparable if they fix it and it breaks again. This past Saturday, the tech told me that I need to run my hot water for ten minutes prior to running the dishwasher and that I should move the silverware caddy from it's current location in the front (where it is supposed to go) to the back, taking up space in the rather small tub so I have less room for dishes, which, by the way have to be thoroughly rinsed before washing them. I explained to GE that if I have to jerry-rig the unit to make it work, then it is not reparable. Would they say it was okay if the latch didn't stay closed and I could just put duct tape on it to make it stay shut? If the product does not work as designed, and when the instructions that are provided with the dishwasher are followed and it does not work, it is not reparable. They refuse to replace it and while they did extend my warranty, there will come a time when that warranty is up and it will start to cost us money for all the repairs. It is costing GE more money to keep sending out techs and re-replacing parts than it would to just replace the relatively inexpensive dishwasher. Would I recommend this dishwasher to a friend? I would not recommend this dishwasher to an enemy! DO NOT BUY THIS DISHWASHER!!!!!!!!!

    broke down in 2 months

This dishwasher broke down in 2 MONTHS from being installed. It also doesn't clean very well. Silverware in top rack does not get water, detergent residue on inside of door indicating not enough water even though there is an extra spray bar. It is smaller inside compared to my older washer, and it is difficult to load because of the rack pegs to load. The only good thing about this dishwasher is it is very quiet. Also the installer was NOT A PROFESSIONAL. He tripped the circuit breaker in my home and did NOT replace the electrical plug. He used the one from my old dishwasher
