Good value for a name brand - quiet operation. Helpful staff at the Best Buy in the North Hills - helped compare features.

I purchased this dishwasher a month ago to replace a 10 year old GE that was wearing out. It's important to me to purchase products that are Made In USA. In the box was a Cascade rinse aid and two Cascade gel packs. The layout of the interior racks is great and accommodates a large number of dishes. I kept the insulation from the old dishwasher and used it in addition to what was included in with this one to make it even quieter. There are quieter dishwashers out there (Bosch) but this is only half the price + free shipping(Got in delivered in two days). I am very satisfied and this is a tremendous value. I installed myself and I saved an additional $15 by purchasing the install kit from my local ACE Hardware over the Best Buy recommended install kit. Keep up the good work GE.

did not help out with dented dishmachine, customer service told me they do not have supervisors, Corp employees are not helpful - the GM in Moreno Valley is the best employee you have.

Quality Replacement For My Old GE Dishwasher

Bought this to replace a GE Nautilus that was included with our new house 10 years ago. Best Buy installers had it ready to go in just under an hour (thanks, guys). Dishwasher does a great job cleaning the dishes. I can't believe how quiet it is. The only time it gets close to being noisy is when it's draining the water. My only complaints are that it takes twice as long to do a load of dishes as the other machine. I usually run a load of dishes overnight, so it's not that big of a deal. I've also run into the drying problem that some of the other reviewers have reported. My recommendation is to get a bottle of rinse aid like Jet Dry or Cascade and be sure to keep the dispenser loaded. I've had no problems with drying since I started using Cascade's rinse aid.

    Excellent Choice

Whirlpool went out after 9 years. Had upgraded all other appliances to GE and did my home work I thought. Great price match enough to even get a new GE built in Microwave. Upon first use I was not happy with this purchase. Condensation and a lot of moisture on dishes. I immediately called the store. I mean the dishwasher was not cheap by no means and I thought in the back of my head what a mistake I made. The return was set up. I researched until my head was spinning with dishwashers. Seems most do not even have a dry mode. The water temperature is supposed to dry the dishes. So I went to GE website and researched and also read the owners manual. I checked the water temp and it was at 125 degrees. On page 13 in the owners manual I struck gold as I was going to give it one more try before I returned. I used the WASH TEMP BOOST option with NORMAL CYCLE and HEATED DRY option. The dishes were totally dry and no condensation at all in the tub! Saved me time and money. The cycle does take longer than my old dishwasher but this is with most ALL new dishwashers. It only uses 3 gallon's of water. Ultra quiet as well.

    Great for the money!

We bought this to replace a 6 year old dish washer that was put in when we bought the house new. This is a HUGE step up in quality of wash and noise. To me this is a very quiet unit but I do know there are some that are nearly silent. For the money this is a good product. We have ran it 4 times since it was installed Monday and the dishes have come out great. I wish it did have a timer on it to let you know how far along it was but you can get those if you want to spend more money. The only problem I have had is the seal came loose the first time I used it but I stuck it back on and have not had a problem since, it ma have been due to the very cold weather we had while they were prepping to install it out in the driveway. Also love the Sanitize Cycle since we have a new baby and need to sanitize bottles.

    Defective machine and frustrating service

    Posted .

Despite Best Buy's claim that the machine had been tested at the warehouse, it didn't work once installed. The problem is a faulty latch that doesn't allow the door to quite connect with the main part of machine. The repairman (who has made two trips out to fix this, with no luck), said that they've had MANY complaints about this model. Apparently, it's a new latch design for G.E., and sadly for us, it doesn't work. There are several things to know about buying a dishwasher from Best Buy. If you pick it up from the store yourself, you will have to drop it off yourself. They won't pick up the broken machine they sold you...unless you had paid them to deliver it. If you pay your contractor to install it, Best Buy won't come and uninstall it free of charge, because they won't uninstall anything that they didn't install, even if what they sold you doesn't work. THE ONLY WAY AROUND THIS is to call Best Buy's help line, ask for "Returns," and say that you want to set up what's called a "RETURN/EXCHANGE." If you say those magic words and immediately order a new machine while you're on the phone with Best Buy, they will cover the cost of uninstalling and removing the broken machine, and delivering and re-installing the new machine. You can't just say, "I need to return my dishwasher because it arrived broken." That does not get you anywhere. Use the Best Buy lingo. If you ordered this machine and it doesn't cycle on, try wrapping the latch in duct tape and then immediately call Best Buy to order a return/exchange. The tape will give you a week's worth of washing before you have to replace the tape. The machine itself should work well enough, except for the heated drying portion, which doesn't work. If you live in the Boise area, do not bother with the repair option. Best Buy does not have it's own appliance repair team in Boise and you will get (or not get) a contracted service person from A1 Quality Repair Appliance. This company stood me up for our first appointment, causing me to lose 4 hours of work. Our new machine arrives in two weeks. Here's hoping...

Worst GE Dishwasher I have owned

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

We have owned two other GE Dishwashers since 1990. We bought the GDF520P6D11WW model about 6 months ago and its performance is horrible. Pretty much we have to prewash (scrub) all dishes and silverware before putting them in this dishwasher. In the past rinsing was adequate. Effectively this has become a rinsing box. Also, drying is very poor, dishes are often wet at the end of the cycle. STAY AWAY. I got the sense this was now the case with the various GE models. Buyer beware.

Hello BelmontRes - this is Nancy at GE. We are very sorry to hear that your new dishwasher was not cleaning or drying well for you. First, please make certain that the water was entering the dishwasher at 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Also, it is helpful to use the Wash Temp Boost. Lastly a Rinse Agent is also very important. I hope this helps! We appreciate your comments! GE_Appliances

    Dishwasher Failed In Two Months

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

After installing this new dishwasher the simple flaws started to become apparent. The latch system is flimsy and bumping into the dishwasher that was located beneath the counter-top would toggle it off/on. It beeps loudly whenever you intentionally or unintentionally bump it. Although the unit runs very quietly it does not dry dishes. Even dishes left overnight were still wet. After a short 2 months the system failed completely and has no power at all. I would not recommend buying this model.

I installed the first with no problem except it didn't work. Should of known then it was junk and listened to my wife and got a different one. Everything is still wet after you run it.
