I have had a glass top stove before and just loved it, but this one I cannot get the marks off it with the cleaner used for glass stoves. The other one was grey and this one is black - shows every little spot and have not even had it a week!

After a lot of research I chose this one. The price was similar to Sears around Thanksgiving but they included a coffee maker if you spent a set amount of dollars on appliances. Delivery was available in a couple days and was at least a WEEK sooner than Sears. I have used Sears in years past but have a feeling they won't be around much longer. Delivery did the install which included adding a piece to the back-top of the stove because it is a slide in and attaching the power cable. They leveled it and slid it in. It would not slide the last quarter inch because of the house's electrical line was bunched up in back. I ended up adjusting that after they left and the unit then fit all the way back. The unit works great. The cooktop is nice, our first smoothtop. We have had a couple spills and overflows that I thought would ruin it but it cleaned off nicely with the included stovetop cleaner that was provided. It is a little hard to keep clean from crumbs and water spots but we still like it. We generally use the conventional oven but have used the convection. My only complaint is that the pre-heat takes longer than our old oven. Everything else is much nicer that our old Kenmore. There is that fan that runs to keep the electronics cool when the oven runs and for some time after it runs. You CAN hear it at the dinner table but it is not bothersome. I also didn't find it a bother when cooking on the stovetop. Buttons are responsive. One thing we did find is that for the kitchen timer you only enter the number of minutes. You do not enter any seconds. We were entering 1500 for 15 minutes and if you press start you get an error message. Just enter 15 and it works fine. Overall a great range.

    Not Happy

We purchased this stove three months ago. We didn’t know it had a fan that runs to cool the electronics for about an hour after you turn it off. Our living room and kitchen are connected, so it can be very annoying when you are trying to listen to music or are watching TV. Also something is rattling inside which makes it even worse. But the least favorite thing about this stove is that the burners are very unresponsive to their settings. For example, I cooked bacon this morning on the lowest setting—and it burned! We wish we could return it....

    Uneven heating

This stove was designed badly. The large burner has three heating rings for use based on the size of your pan or pot. When you use the largest pan size, the smallest burner is hotter than the other burners and therefore you can't fry any food in the center of your skillet without burning the food. You have to push the food to the outside edges of the skillet to keep anything from burning. It's a design flaw. I've already had GE replace the burner and they both work the same way. The oven doesn't heat evenly either. I've had my oven for less than six months. Hate it. It's pretty, but that's about it.
