Expensive and faulty from start

I purchased this product and installed it according to the manual. In 5 minutes I realized it is malfunctioning. The problem is with the pump. When you turn the machine on and hold the Timer button for 3 seconds, the PumpOn lightcoms on and it is steady. After 3-4 minutes, the unit is beeping 2-3 times and the PumpOn light starts blinking, That's it, no pumping when the bucket is full, the unit stops working as the pump does not do its job.
Neither the manual, nor the GE website says nothing about such behavior, and calling them does not help either. From other reviews, I learned that GE does not repair their dehumidifiers, at best providing reimbursements for purchase of another THEIR dehumidifier. I bought the BestBuy plan for extended warranty but that plan kicks in only after the manufacturer warranty ends.
So, long story short, this grey piece goes back to store. I hope to find a better brand that cares about their customers. Save yourself a hassle and skip on this formerly famous brand name.

After 2 months of use in a finished basement, I keep getting the E6 error (Humidity sensor issue).
I tried the remedies shown online, but it still throws the E6 error.
Save your money and look for another brand.

We recommend unplugging the unit for several minutes to reset the electronics and to also check out the Troubleshooting Tips section on page 9 of the Owner’s Manual (which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website). -- If the issue persists, please see warranty exchange information on page 11 of the Owner’s Manual.

There is no pump in this item. The water isnt pumped out. Uou just open a calve and it has to use gravity to go to a drain. Please remove the “pump” label.

This model APYR50LC does have a built-in pump with an included hose that allows water to be drained to any convenient location up to 16 feet away. Please look on the front under the Timer control and you will see Hold 3 Sec for Pump. If you have any questions, please review the manual that can be found on our site or on Best Buys site.

So far, I'm very pleased with my GE Dehumidifier. It is very efficient in removing humidity (although it was not connected during the late summer months). I emptied the bucket manually until recently connecting the threaded hose used on my previous dehumidifier which works fine. I have not needed to use the internal pump as yet.

Crapped out after six weeks

Stopped working in less than two months. Persistent E6 message. Contacted ge who said they’d replace it using their company called Bodewell.. EXCEPT the product is no longer available through them, and no comparable item is either. Contacted Best Buy who might replace it if they can’t fix it, so it will still be at least one three hour road trip.
GE is not the company it once was. Leave this one alone.

Own Several - All Stop Working In Less Than 2 Year

Stay away from this brand of dehumidifier period. I own several of this exact model and all have failed in less than 2 years with the exact same completely unfixable issue.
If you search online you will see countless people complaining about how these stop working in under 2 years.
Save your money, buy a better dehumidifier.

Just bought this product. Hooked it up and it worked for less than 5 minutes. Threw a E2 error code. Nothing in the manual about E2 or how to trouble shoot it. I called the GE Customer Service line and they had no idea what it was. Told me to take it back and get a refund,
