    DISAPPOINTING TOASTER OVEN

I am so disappointed in this toaster oven. It doesn't allow you, when you want to bake, to set oven temperature. You have to use only the temperature settings prescribed by the manufacturer--ridiculous. Also, I found it rather difficult to use the knobs to switch from toasting, baking, etc. The manual wasn't any help.

Hi exerciselady47, thanks for taking the time to write a review! Based on page 8 of your Owner's Manual, you are able to adjust the temperature when you are using the Bake, Roast, Broil, or Keep Warm modes. Here is an excerpt from that section: "For ROAST, BAKE, BROIL, and KEEP WARM cooking modes, rotate the lower knob to select the desired oven temperature. To adjust the cooking time, push the lower knob button and then rotate the knob to select the desired cooking time. By default, the convection fan is deactivated for these cooking modes, but it may be manually toggled on using the "Conv." button." - We do appreciate hearing your feedback about using the knobs to switch between cooking modes. We're always looking for ways to improve. We hope that the above information is helpful! If you have other questions, feel free to send us an email or reach out to us on social media. All the best! -Michael@GEA GE_Appliances

    Toast of the town

This toaster/convection oven does a great job with everything I have tried. Controls are pretty straightforward, I would have preferred multiple knobs rather than push in to change function which reminds me of a car radio. Toast was evenly toasted on both sides. Perfect toasting. Eggos were perfect. I prepared some chicken breasts using convection settings. The breasts were juicy on the inside and just right externally. Important note: to bypass the preheat you have to hit start twice. Convection time/temp compared to a bake time/temp is based on how you want to approach it. I find convection you can run at 25 degrees cooler than baking rather than adjusting time. YMMV. Remember, convection is basically the same as what you have in a air fryer where there are fans that make the heat circulate. Keep an eye on the food to check it while cooking until you have a good feel for time and temp adjustments. One thing to be careful with is lining the pan with aluminum foil, make sure it is not touching the inside edges of the oven. The aluminum foil can scratch/damage the inner oven. This is not cool touch, so it is good they have a child proof option. There is also a silent mode that will keep the alarms from chirping. Another nice add, it will auto shut off if you preheat and start is not hit after the preheat is done. The oven also turns off after the timer is done auto magically.

    A Perfect Fit

This oven holds a generous amount of vegetables for roasting, or biscuits for baking. I cooked both recently, and the results were great. It could just be me, but I find the controls a bit confusing. I do better with clear indicators on the knobs rather than on the screen above the knobs. That being said, I am excited to have this oven as it’s a perfect fit and needed addition to our office-turned-studio apartment. Along with our microwave, coffee maker, electric burner, and little fridge, this oven completes the kitchen equipment in our tiny home.

Least liked toaster oven I have ever purchased. Takes too long to preheat and when you set temperature it won’t let you set time to cook. Would not purchase again.

Wow that all I can say. With the pandemic been looking at news ways to make foods at home. But this thing is worth it. Mad some rolls with this came out amazing..... Easy to. Use. Preheat is your best friend if not you can and will burn things like I did. But other than that convection works amazing. I thought this was only going to be good for toasting bread but it does much more. Not gonna get a turkey or big chicken but it can cook for what it is.

    Fantastic GE toaster oven

This GE quartz 6 slice toaster oven is a fantastic upgrade. It is easy to operate and the settings are intuitive. It is smart. With many programming modes including toast, bagel, pizza, roast and more including a keep warm setting. The pre-programmed settings can also be manually adjusted to change the time and/or temperature or you can simply set up a manual setting. This is a convection toaster oven with the convection bake setting being an additional option when wanted. I have made several items in the toaster oven so far, and some things need a bit of adjustment. I find it easy to add extra time once the toaster oven finishes its cycle. The toast setting can be set for 1-6 slices of toast. Not quite toasty enough, just put it back for additional time. The pizza mode offers settings for 6, 9 or 12" pizzas. I made a 9" frozen pizza and it came out perfectly cooked and piping hot! Re-heating french fries had always been difficult with previous toaster ovens. This one re-heats them beautifully, making the outside slightly crispy and keeping the inside soft and tasty. Yay, yay, yay!!! The temperature settings for this oven allow it to be set pretty high, so be careful taking out very hot food! This comes with a tool to assist you in sliding out the rack after cooking. I would advise using it to protect your hands from the heat. This is a beautiful stainless steel GE appliance that I am proud to display on my kitchen counter. It is gorgeous and I am extremely pleased with its performance.

    Blast from the past

I grew up with one of these on our family's kitchen countertop for years. Then somewhere along the way we just stopped using it and went with a microwave. I was excited to share a bit of nostalgia with my kids while testing this unit out. Out of the box the unit is as large as a traditional microwave and basically as heavy. The stainless-steel skin is very pretty and super easy to keep clean. The unit functions superbly and cooks to perfection. Due to limited counter space for me, this piece cannot be a staple but while out we did use it almost every day. I loved just throwing a piece of bread with butter, cinnamon, & sugar in for a few minutes for a sweet (not carb friendly) snack. I also liked that the kids (teens) could throw in a pizza or something instead of using the gas stove while we adults are not home. This lone fact is making my wife and I conversate about what to move to make room for this toaster oven. Really a great device, that I could see on anyone's counter.

So far, this has done everything that I've asked it to do. I've reheated pizza, roasted brussel sprouts, even baked biscuits, and everything has come out wonderfully. Heating is even, and the convection setting speeds up cooking and gives baked goods a nice crust. Of course, it makes good toast as well. It has plenty of space for a small meal, but it does take up quite a bit of room on my counter. Fan is quiet, which is a plus, and it doesn't heat up my kitchen. This was definitely an upgrade from my old four slice oven.

This GE Toaster Oven is amazing! Be prepared to give up some counter space and have great food! I have re-heated French toast, baked cookies, and even cooked a frozen pizza. All turned out wonderfully! The display is easy to read and the buttons and knobs are easy to figure out. Pre-heating works well and tells you when it's ready - just like a large oven. This is the Toaster Oven to own! The slide out tray at the bottom is genius! Easy to clean. Highly recommend this Toaster Oven. If you are looking for one this is the one to own.

The GE - Quartz 6-Slice Toaster Oven with Convection Bake - Stainless Steel is a versatile cooking device that can cook several foods several different ways. It has multiple cooking functions such as toast, convection bake, broil, bagel, pizza, roast and keep warm. The small toasters brown bread quicker than the GE – Quartz 6-Slice toaster, but the GE – Quartz 6-Slice toaster can do so much more than a basic toaster. I can cook flavorful meats, meat and vegetable meals and breads, with a few pushes of some buttons. My breads came out golden brown, frozen pizza cooked with the tray were soft in the middle and crispy on the outside edges. Brownies baked airy and fluffy. I can use the GE - Quartz 6-Slice Toaster Oven with Convection Bake - Stainless Steel in place of my gas oven to prepare smaller sized meals faster.

    Cheap build quality, subpar cooking

The first impression of this oven right out of the box was “eh”. The knobs feel like retro radio knobs, free spinning and lightweight. The door is tinny and slams shut. And the display screen is dim. I hoped maybe the build quality would be eclipsed by solid function. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Even simple toast was unevenly cooked. Veggies and potatoes were burned on the bottom and soggy on top. The oven also took a full four minutes longer than another brand just to preheat. The oven is quiet and the rack and pan includes are surprisingly good quality. But overall, there are much better options in this space.
