Great Oven Substitute, if needed
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GE Quartz Convection Toaster oven is attractive, and has a very easy to navigate control panel, I figured out and understood most of how to work it without referring to the manual (though I later consulted the manual and learned a few helpful and safety-related things). The first thing after setting it up and plugging it in that we did was wash the inserts (tray/rack) because it just seemed like a good idea. Due to no fault of the toaster oven, the first thing I toasted in it was a 3+ day old bagel which wasn't super fresh (it would've been better tasting if it wasn't a bit stale). I set it on a light/dark setting of two-notches. It did truly lightly toast it at that setting, which pleasantly surprised me a little, because if I put my regular 2/4-slice toaster on a setting of 2 the bagel might be almost burnt. As per the toasting experience, It did seem to take almost twice as long as a traditional (not oven) toaster to reach the same darkness level, but I think that might give more control over darkness level. Also, while it was toasting there was a yellowish light inside of the toaster which kind of 'hid' the toasting it was doing, I couldn't see that it was toasted until I opened the oven. I suspect if it was burning, though, I'd be able to see it in that light, and it is nice to be able to see the toasting as it's happening (knowing there is a cancel button). I want to note here that the door opens and closes super easy, it feels "light" but does the job of keeping the heat inside. Another evening, I tried toasting an Apple Crisp (and added iced cream to it), for this I used the regular toasting option rather than bake. The apple crisp did come out warmer, though I would not recommend heating it in the dish you were planning to eat it in (like I did) for what are probably obvious reasons (dish gets HOT). It still came out well, and was a snack I enjoyed that was helped by this toaster oven. One afternoon I tried baking chocolate chip cookies, since it had a bake function. One difference I noticed between baking and toasting is that the light seems to stay off for baking. Another difference is that it preheats to the temperature (and prompts you to press start once it reaches temperature, to indicate your item is now in the oven). Perhaps because this was the first time I used baking mode, there was a burning odor in the air even as it was preheating, I think this 'new burn' smell is common to these appliances. The good news is the cookies came out decent, which should show to some extent you can use this to substitute for a regular oven for some uses; that may be handy in an office or a small living space. The cookies did burn a bit and it was difficult to get that off of the included pan, but soaking it in water seemed to get most of the burnt cookie off easier. In complete honesty, our regular oven has the ability to do just about everything this thing can do (including toasting), so I doubt we'll keep it around for long considering the counter space it takes up. But, again, if I didn't have a functioning oven available to me, I would find this GE Quartz toaster oven to be invaluable and would rebuy it if needed.

Love my toaster oven!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far, this has done everything that I've asked it to do. I've reheated pizza, roasted brussel sprouts, even baked biscuits, and everything has come out wonderfully. Heating is even, and the convection setting speeds up cooking and gives baked goods a nice crust. Of course, it makes good toast as well. It has plenty of space for a small meal, but it does take up quite a bit of room on my counter. Fan is quiet, which is a plus, and it doesn't heat up my kitchen. This was definitely an upgrade from my old four slice oven.

A Perfect Fit
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This oven holds a generous amount of vegetables for roasting, or biscuits for baking. I cooked both recently, and the results were great. It could just be me, but I find the controls a bit confusing. I do better with clear indicators on the knobs rather than on the screen above the knobs. That being said, I am excited to have this oven as it’s a perfect fit and needed addition to our office-turned-studio apartment. Along with our microwave, coffee maker, electric burner, and little fridge, this oven completes the kitchen equipment in our tiny home.

An Awesome Multi-Functional Oven!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a person who eats waffles and toast on a consistent basis, this oven comes on time as it also has multiple functions such as convection baking. I tried some blueberry waffles in addition to toast and both toasted evenly. The function that I am super excited about is the convection oven as it eliminates me from using my main stove’s oven. I baked some chicken in this oven which baked evenly and efficiently. The controls are user-friendly and easy to navigate as they are clear and easy to read. Also, I am very impressed with how this oven does not take up much counter space as this was of concern to me because I have other appliances that set on my counter. Also, this oven fits and works as most of my kitchen appliances are stainless steel. I have immense baking plans for this oven—with the holidays nearing, I plan to bake cookies, brownies, and other sweet treats. I am optimistic that I will enjoy this oven and its awesome features for many years to come!

Great addition to the kitchen if you have the room
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow that all I can say. With the pandemic been looking at news ways to make foods at home. But this thing is worth it. Mad some rolls with this came out amazing..... Easy to. Use. Preheat is your best friend if not you can and will burn things like I did. But other than that convection works amazing. I thought this was only going to be good for toasting bread but it does much more. Not gonna get a turkey or big chicken but it can cook for what it is.

Fantastic GE toaster oven
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This GE quartz 6 slice toaster oven is a fantastic upgrade. It is easy to operate and the settings are intuitive. It is smart. With many programming modes including toast, bagel, pizza, roast and more including a keep warm setting. The pre-programmed settings can also be manually adjusted to change the time and/or temperature or you can simply set up a manual setting. This is a convection toaster oven with the convection bake setting being an additional option when wanted. I have made several items in the toaster oven so far, and some things need a bit of adjustment. I find it easy to add extra time once the toaster oven finishes its cycle. The toast setting can be set for 1-6 slices of toast. Not quite toasty enough, just put it back for additional time. The pizza mode offers settings for 6, 9 or 12" pizzas. I made a 9" frozen pizza and it came out perfectly cooked and piping hot! Re-heating french fries had always been difficult with previous toaster ovens. This one re-heats them beautifully, making the outside slightly crispy and keeping the inside soft and tasty. Yay, yay, yay!!! The temperature settings for this oven allow it to be set pretty high, so be careful taking out very hot food! This comes with a tool to assist you in sliding out the rack after cooking. I would advise using it to protect your hands from the heat. This is a beautiful stainless steel GE appliance that I am proud to display on my kitchen counter. It is gorgeous and I am extremely pleased with its performance.

Cooks many foods many ways
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The GE - Quartz 6-Slice Toaster Oven with Convection Bake - Stainless Steel is a versatile cooking device that can cook several foods several different ways. It has multiple cooking functions such as toast, convection bake, broil, bagel, pizza, roast and keep warm. The small toasters brown bread quicker than the GE – Quartz 6-Slice toaster, but the GE – Quartz 6-Slice toaster can do so much more than a basic toaster. I can cook flavorful meats, meat and vegetable meals and breads, with a few pushes of some buttons. My breads came out golden brown, frozen pizza cooked with the tray were soft in the middle and crispy on the outside edges. Brownies baked airy and fluffy. I can use the GE - Quartz 6-Slice Toaster Oven with Convection Bake - Stainless Steel in place of my gas oven to prepare smaller sized meals faster.

This is the Toaster Oven you've been looking for!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This GE Toaster Oven is amazing! Be prepared to give up some counter space and have great food! I have re-heated French toast, baked cookies, and even cooked a frozen pizza. All turned out wonderfully! The display is easy to read and the buttons and knobs are easy to figure out. Pre-heating works well and tells you when it's ready - just like a large oven. This is the Toaster Oven to own! The slide out tray at the bottom is genius! Easy to clean. Highly recommend this Toaster Oven. If you are looking for one this is the one to own.

Cheap build quality, subpar cooking
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The first impression of this oven right out of the box was “eh”. The knobs feel like retro radio knobs, free spinning and lightweight. The door is tinny and slams shut. And the display screen is dim. I hoped maybe the build quality would be eclipsed by solid function. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Even simple toast was unevenly cooked. Veggies and potatoes were burned on the bottom and soggy on top. The oven also took a full four minutes longer than another brand just to preheat. The oven is quiet and the rack and pan includes are surprisingly good quality. But overall, there are much better options in this space.
