Had sets in the past that are labeled as Maytag. Found out that Whirlpool bought out the company. Was disappointed in the performance. So went with the GE.. and very satisfied. It's now been 7 years and having to get service on the washer. Bearings are going out, but all front loaders will have this issue.. Still really like this product..!

Ranking: last - Electrolux, 2nd - LG, first GE. I have no "made in the USA" bias, nor do I mind nor care where the company is from. I care about quality and getting what I paid for. I prefer the GE over Electrolux primarily because this GE set has built in pedestals. The functionality of my prior Electrolux pair was on par. They were just so short! The LG left me disappointed for two reasons: the control panel has no illumination, and my laundry space isn't a exactly a lite festival. I could not see what I was pushing! Next was the steam dryer capabilities; unlike the GE and Electrolux, the Lg dryer does in fact have the capacity, but you have to take out a little water tank and go fill it up out of the sink. ?!? I first had the Electrolux. We sold the house and the buyers wanted the w/d. Once in our new place, I bought the LG, and the water tank pi**ed me off so much, I returned the set for the GE. The GE and the Electrolux have a dedicated water supply line. Finally, I chose the GE over another Electrolux because of a pricing special and the GE set has much larger capacity than the Electrolux. Note that the GE pair is not exactly cheap at regular prices.

It has a lot of options that truly make doing laundry a lot easier. So far i have used a lot of the features that i thought i would not. still waiting to find a good deal on the matching dryer.

Hardly ever know if it's running! Except on the extreme spin, it's sounding like beeing in an aircraft at high altitude! But when done, every thing is almost dry! Spins very fast to extract all the water out..cuts down drying time! Should be much easier on the power bill, so it's worth every dollar spent!

Worth the price!

I am absolutely thrilled with this washing machine. The barrel size alone has enabled me to cut my laundry time in half. Cleans all fabrics great! I am mostly pleased with the fact that my monthly utility cost has gone from $260 to $120 average; just from upgrading my washer and dryer. The machine is quiet, except for a loud clang it makes as each cycle changes. I was told I would have to pay a technician to come out and look at it, which is too bad, especially after paying $3000 for 2 new machines.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Please this is my exact washer I bought and ir wont dump out the softner it just sits ib the softner well beside the liquid well, ive also noticed it doesnt was well we bought this for heavily soiled clothes and we've noticed you can only put 10/12 articles of clothing in to get washed properly.if not it goes in for another wash which happens all the time.. I was so happy to get this washer but upset it doesnt do the trick. My husband clothes smell like hydraulic oil and only the previous washer got the smell out and washed very well compared to this one.. Sad to say though id rather smell fabric softner than anything

Softener and Run time AWFUL

Also as stated in the reviews the fabric softener does not empty and if you don't use the machine often enough it will grow mold. So sorry I picked this one. GE- if you read this please don't send your canned reply
