However, a significant number of users reported issues with reception and signal strength, leading to some dissatisfaction. While some found the channel selection adequate, others felt the price point was not justified by the performance. The antenna's setup was generally considered straightforward.

Out of all my home tv antennas I put inside windows here . this is my fav ..thought it’s bigger land I have it indoors like the others it picks up the most free channels in my area..it’s useable outdoors but I didn’t want to drill into my siding and works fine inside. Stronger signal strength than the others I bought , tried returned or kept ..pricier but works the best and if I remember correctly it’s the only one that has a lifetime guarantee..easy to install too.

We use this to get local news and that's about it. Great signal and HD. Only get nbc and cbs out of the four majors. abc and fox are missing though. We get a ton of other local channels that I didn't know existed. Only really use the two major ones for news and pbs for the kids. Otherwise it's Netflix and Hulu. We save over $500/year without cable or satellite that had channels we wouldn't watch but still paid for. This antenna gives us what we need.

The signal reception is pretty inconsistent. I've had better results with the Mohu. Very affected by weather or if someone just walks in front of it. Right now I was trying to watch and got about 5 channels. They come and go. I may try it in another room but right now I would not get another one.

Reception was was not great. The channel that we received were clear and as good as having cable, however we received only four. Location possibly, however my son-in law made a home made one out of hangers and it actually picked 14 channels.

This antenna has nice visual appeal and picked up many stations over the air in hd. However based on where i wanted to place it, the mofi leaf antenna gave a better selection of channels.

Can only get a couple of stations, not the one I really wanted. Will try to find the sweet spot or may have to return. I like the looks, but the performance is lacking so far. I know it depends on where your location is, so it's not entirely the fault of the manufacturer.

I was somewhat disappointed with the reception this antenna provides based on the cost of the product. It requires more repositioning to receive different channels than other antennas I have. It does serve the purpose however in a location not suitable for an antenna with rabbit ears.

My challenge is that I live in a duplex and my tv is on the side on which there are no windows. I think that if someone used this antenna in a better environment with windows that it would probably be great. As it is, it provides good coverage for me ... but still not as strong as I would like.

Has a great picture quality when it finds the signal. I live in a low area with many mature trees. I recommend this if you live in a more open and higher area.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the antenna worked so well. Prior to using the antenna I got no reception for CBS. After plugging in the antenna and simply setting it on the TV Stand, CBS came in beautifully!

I was not impressed with this product. After reviewing the government site that indicates the types of channels to expect within range, it seemed the advertised range for this product would be more than sufficient. Following installation, it was apparent that approximately 40% of the channels were not coming through. Further, if you walked near the bar, reception went away. I live in a single family home in flat FL. Disappointed is an understatement. It reminded me of rabbit ears.

Brand response from Tech Support

Hi Ronald, thank you for reaching out to us regarding our GE UltraPro Bar HD 400 indoor Amplified Antenna. We are very sorry to hear about your recent unsatisfactory experience you had with our product. As the manufacturer, we are very interested in supplying consumers with a quality product that delivers the expected performance. Anytime we hear problems encountered in the use of one of our products, we want to get involved and resolve the difficulties the best we can. Depending on your location regarding terrain, elevation, etc. and depending on the location of the transmitters for your local stations will determine in large part, the type of antenna required to pull in the stations. Both your general location and the specific area that the antenna is located can affect reception. The distance, terrain and obstacles (buildings, power lines, etc.) between you and the signal tower greatly affect the strength of the signal that reaches you. Where you locate the antenna in the room can also affect the strength of the signal that you receive. First, make sure that the antenna is fully extended on each end. This will allow the antennas dipoles to be fully extended for better reception. The antenna must be connected to the TV and connected to a power source at all times in order for the antenna to function properly. You will need to scan for channels on your TV. This is a very important step. Your TV will NOT receive signals from the antenna without doing a channel scan. We recommend that you see you TV’s menu screen for this process or refer the instruction manual that. You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and position the antenna where it is facing toward the tower, as well as, positioning the antenna as high off the ground as you can. The repositioning will allow for optimum reception. If the problem persists, please contact our Support team at 1-800-654-8483, press option 2 and provide our Support Team with your personal ticket # 294985.

We live in a valley 25 miles from the broadcast antenna. This item does not provide consistent reception for us even though we are well within the stated range. I'll be looking for something else that provides better reception.

Since I am not sure if it is the product or the Jonesboro, AR area not receiving very many channels off the air, my review may not be accurate. I get five channels and they are consistently on-air. If I move close to a big-city, I might get more. Give it a chance and it will work.
