Customers are saying

Customers regard the UltraPro Bar HD 400 Indoor Amplified Antenna favorably for its picture quality and ease of use, with many also appreciating its compact size and attractive design. However, a significant number of users reported issues with reception and signal strength, leading to some dissatisfaction. While some found the channel selection adequate, others felt the price point was not justified by the performance. The antenna's setup was generally considered straightforward.

I bought this product for my mother in hopes of replacing expensive cable bill. We made the purchase and it was exactly what she needed. No more cable and monthly bills.

It found about 80 channels for me, but you have to rescan fairly regularly. Good for finding local channels.

I have several Antenna's in my home but this one picks up the most channels. I can now get channels that I never had.

This is a goo little antenna, sits right at the bottom or top of TV, great if you are trying to get away from cable or satellite TV.

The antenna has to be near a window to work effectively from a basement level. I love the freedom from service providers, though.

This might work for some people, but I only got two channels. It maybe the place that I set it up that caused it not to receive the signals. This will work well in the right situations, but not in mine.

If you live on the coast, I would not by this product. the mountain ranges block most of the signals on this antenna. it is not strong enough, even if you put it by a window. the most you get are basic channels.

We have a second home and wanted to have tv for visits during the off months (we have cable during the time we stay). We were able to get a few stations and many of these fluctuated. In any case, it was better than not having it.

Didn't Work Very Well, Had To Exchange It

This antenna didn't work very well upon purchase. We would get a good signal but then it would lose the signal after a few seconds. The antenna also needed to be moved multiple times in order to get it working but then it would lose the signal again even when we did find a good spot. I ended up returning it to Best Buy to replace it with a different kind of antenna and that one worked better. I'm thinking the performance of this antenna has to do with where you are located, but we live just on the edge of town, so it seems odd that this product wouldn't have worked for us.

Hi Elars, thank you for reaching out to us regarding our GE UltraPro Bar HD 400 indoor Amplified Antenna. We are very sorry to hear about your recent unsatisfactory experience you had with our product. As the manufacturer, we are very interested in supplying consumers with a quality product that delivers the expected performance. Anytime we hear problems encountered in the use of one of our products, we want to get involved and resolve the difficulties the best we can.

Antenna reception range is based on a line of sight signal path from the TV broadcast towers to your home. Several factors can limit reception range at your location. Some of these are mountainous and hilly terrain, obstructions in the signal path and metal construction materials. You will need to scan for channels on your TV. This is a very important step. Your TV will NOT receive signals from the antenna without doing a channel scan. We recommend that you see you TV’s menu screen for this process or refer the instruction manual that came.

You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and position the antenna where it is facing toward the tower, as well as, positioning the antenna as high off the ground as you can. The repositioning will allow for optimum reception. If you are still not able to access any channels, your antenna may be over amplifying the signal. Based on your current location, from the towers providing signals, your antenna might be receiving too much power causing it to miss the signal. Turn amplifier to the OFF position behind the antenna and rescan for channels again.

Did the job while local WBNS10TV and Direct TV were squabbling over money and CBS was off air on Direct TV. Now thinking about totally giving up cable!
