Customers are saying

Customers regard the UltraPro Bar HD 400 Indoor Amplified Antenna favorably for its picture quality and ease of use, with many also appreciating its compact size and attractive design. However, a significant number of users reported issues with reception and signal strength, leading to some dissatisfaction. While some found the channel selection adequate, others felt the price point was not justified by the performance. The antenna's setup was generally considered straightforward.

It was a strange antenna! It picked up 3 Caribbean channels and nothing else! It wouldn’t even pick up local channels! I just hooked up my old cable wire to my smart tv, and that gave me over 100 free channels.

Picks up signals but tv gets pixelated often. Works best if the antenna is close to window.

I returned mine, as it only pulled in 12 channels, where the Mohu I installed upstairs, pulled in 46.

It's a good antenna but I live in the woods so not was hard to pick up signals without fading in and out.

Works well, the only exception is when an airplane flies over. This would probably not be a problem with most people but we live within 2 miles of an airport with the flight path that goes directly over the house. Thankfully it's a small airport so it doesn't happen a lot.

I returned because it doesn't work as advertised ( not in my case). It has a nice look which I was hoping I could replace the rabbit ears. The $20 rabbit ears have out performed all indoor 'over the air antennas' I've tried.

I bought a new TV and figured I'd update my antenna as well. This was highly recommended by the sales guy at the store so I ordered it online as they had sold out. I was really hoping it was as good as the recommendations and reviews. Unfortunately, it's a dud. I'm constantly changing the position in hopes of better reception. My old flat panel antenna is better.

We were a little skeptical about how well this would work. We live in the mountains and regular signal is iffy. We had been using an outdoor antenna but this is much better! We would recommend this to cut cable.

Ever since cutting the cable some four months ago I've been on a quest to find an antenna that works for me. I say it that way because although I'm within 25 miles from our local network transmitters, I live in a hilly area with a lot of trees. To add insult to injuries my tvs are on the South East side of the house and the transmitters are on the North West side of the house. Having said that, I've tried antennas costing over $100.00 which performed no better than the GE UltraPro Bar. For better or worst, my 9 year old GE amplified antenna with rabbit ears has worked better than any of the "modern antennas" I've tried so far.

I purchased this so I could watch NFL games when they are on local channels. While the setup is easy and my TV found over 20 channels during the initial scan, the stream is very choppy and sometimes locks up for a while. I am located within 10 miles of the towers that I receive air broadcast from. Very hit or miss.

Hello MrShinyCadillacness, we would like to apologize for your recent experience and sorry to hear you were less than satisfied with our GE Ultra Pro Bar HD 400 Indoor Amplified Antenna. It is very important to us that our customers are more than satisfied and we would like to work with you directly and help you resolve this issue.

From your description, your antenna may be over amplifying the signal. Based on your location, from the towers providing signals, your antenna might be receiving too much power causing it to miss the signal. Make sure that the antenna is fully extended on each end. Switch the built -in amplifier to OFF position located on the back of the antenna. This will allow the antenna to receive the close-range reception. You can use www.antennaweb.org to look for the DTV reception maps to determine the available stations and location of the broadcast towers in your area. Make sure to scan your TV for channels again. This is a very important step. Your TV will NOT receive signals from the antenna without doing a channel scan.

If the problem persists, please contact our Consumer Care team between the hours of 7AM – 8PM Central Standard Time, Monday thru Friday at 1-800-654-8483, press option 4, and provide our Tech Specialist with your personal ticket number 369308, so that we can resolve your issue promptly. If you’d prefer to email, our contact is [email protected] and please include your personal ticket number (369308) in the subject line. Thank you and have a great day! GETechSupport

bad reception inside my living room. should be placed close to window for better quality but picture still scratches from time to time. i would recommend outdoor antenna for people who have trouble finding good reception inside house. i have tried many antenna and even this expensive antenna wouldn't give me a stable signal inside my living room
