I live near desert mountains and was going to go without internet at my second home here. This idea was to get local stations - but it did not perform at all for me so I returned it.

Don't buy unless you like to adjust the antenna

Our priority is to offer complete customer satisfaction for all our customers. As the manufacturer, we are very interested in supplying consumers with a quality product that delivers the expected performance. Anytime we hear problems encountered in the use of one of our products, we want to get involved and resolve the difficulties the best we can.
First, make sure that the antenna is fully extended on each end. This will allow the antennas dipoles to be fully extended for better reception. The antenna must be connected to the TV and connected to a power source at all times in order for the antenna to function properly. Once these steps are complete we suggest you run another channel scan. If you are still not able to access any channels, your antenna may be over amplifying the signal. We recommend that you turn off the amplifier behind the antenna and rescan for channels again. You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and locate the antenna closer to that direction and rescan for channels.

Cutting the cable and loving it!

Cutting the cord

GE Ultra Pro Reception not adequate

It would be necessary to rotate or move the antennae in different directions to receive channels. Then move back to receive the other channels, with channels being lost from the other direction. Most of the time GE Branded products are much better and superior to other brands. Even have some products still manufactured in the United States. I purchased the antennae because of the GE Brand. I was surprised in a bad way, in the performance of the GE antennae. I had to take it back.

Antenna reception range is based on a line of sight signal path from the TV broadcast towers to your home. Several factors can limit reception range at your location. Some of these are mountainous and hilly terrain, obstructions in the signal path and metal construction materials. To ensure you receive the maximum number of channels you may want to experiment re-positioning the antenna. For best antenna reception the ends of the antenna must me fully extended. Place the antenna as high as possible or near a window. You can use www.antennaweb.org to look for the DTV reception maps to determine the available stations and location of the broadcast towers in your area. Make sure to scan your TV for channels. This is a very important step. Your TV will NOT receive signals from the antenna without doing a channel scan. If you continue to receive poor TV reception, the antenna may be over amplifying the signal. Switch the amplifier to OFF position and rescan your channels.

Poor reception

It would only pick up one station (sometimes.) I have a homemade antenna made by neighbor that get 9 or 10 stations. Will return it.

Antenna reception range is based on a line of sight signal path from the TV broadcast towers to your home. Several factors can limit reception range at your location. You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and position the antenna where it is facing toward the tower, as well as, positioning the antenna as high off the ground as you can. You will need to scan for channels on your TV. This is a very important step. Your TV will NOT receive signals from the antenna without doing a channel scan. We recommend that you see you TV’s menu screen for this process or refer the instruction manual that came. The repositioning will allow for optimum reception. It is important that you rescan your channels once the antenna has been repositioned.
It is a very important to repeat this process and re-scan for channels anytime you move or re-position the antenna. It is also a good practice to repeat this process from time to time in case there are changes to the available TV signals in your area. If you ever lose a channel, a re-scan may be all that is needing to pick up that station again.

Great Price not the best on graphics

It was very easy to start up which is great if you are not the best in wireless set up. The only thing is the picture is a little blurry but not too bad. I have purchased other Vizio tv's and I would but again.
