Customers regard the UltraPro Bar HD 400 Indoor Amplified Antenna favorably for its picture quality and ease of use, with many also appreciating its compact size and attractive design. However, a significant number of users reported issues with reception and signal strength, leading to some dissatisfaction. While some found the channel selection adequate, others felt the price point was not justified by the performance. The antenna's setup was generally considered straightforward.

Used it in Michigan in a wooded area got about 38 channels. Some channels required moving the antenna around. Got all the Chicago local channels except channel 2.
Set up was easy

I am sure it works fine in urban areas, but I am out in the country with trees, hills and distance between me and the towers in the cities.

Was able to get ok channels and it would look great. The only issue is that it would not pick up all the local channels and it would give a bad picture all of the sudden. It was clear so not sure why it would still not work as promised.

Rabbit Ears Work Better

Purchased this antenna for use in a guest bedroom that does not have a coax plug. The look and design are spot on. It can fit above or below the television. I hooked it up and completed the auto search, and the first time around, it found 28 digital channels here in Northern Virginia. It was missing two of four networks, so I played with it a bit without success. Frustrated, I pulled out a pair of old rabbit ear antenna and got back to work. The old school technology worked like a charm, and I had all four networks and a lot more. Had to hide the rabbit ears behind a dresser, but they work and will save me $70+ for an antenna that is on its way back to BB.

I purchased this antenna bar and wasn't impressed. It did receive the channels and the picture was crystal clear, however, the RCA antenna slim box that was half the price did the exact same for me. I returned this item and purchased 2 more of the other styles for the price of one of the antenna bars. I truly didn't see a difference in the two.

This little antenna just works. It is small and easily tucks away when not needed (for Netflix, Hulu, etc.), and it is easy to pull out when you want to watch football in HD.

Brand response from Tech Support

Hello Annie, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding our GE Ultra Pro Bar HD 400 Amplified Antenna. We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing signal issues with our product. Our priority is to offer complete customer satisfaction for all our customers. As the manufacturer, we are very interested in supplying consumers with a quality product that delivers the expected performance. Anytime we hear problems encountered in the use of one of our products, we want to get involved and resolve the difficulties the best we can. First, make sure that the antenna is fully extended on each end. This will allow the antennas dipoles to be fully extended for better reception. The antenna must be connected to the TV and connected to a power source at all times in order for the antenna to function properly. Once these steps are complete we suggest you run another channel scan. If you are still not able to access any channels, your antenna may be over amplifying the signal. We recommend that you turn off the amplifier behind the antenna and rescan for channels again. You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and position the antenna where it is facing toward the tower, as well as, positioning the antenna as high off the ground as you can. The repositioning will allow for optimum reception. You will need to rescan your channels once the antenna has been repositioned. If the problem persists, please give us a call at 1-800-654-8483 option 1 and provide our Support Team with your ticket number 264563. We are eager to work together with you to get the best out of our product and help you with your concerns. We look forward to hearing from you.

Recently, due to Hurricane Harvey, I had to leave the comfort of home internet, and Satellite TV, but still wanted to get local TV at least in the small guest room where I was staying. This antenna did the trick. Of course, it helps to place it near a window and as high up as possible. Recommend.

I cut the cord 3 years ago and just added a 3rd TV to my household. This antenna works great with my new Samsung TV. The pictire is clear and I get a lot of channels over the air. So much better than paying for cable or satellite.

This antenna has an excellent design and is made with very good materials
You can put it anywhere in the cabinet where the TV is.
Only one problem is that if it is in a room with many walls blocking its signal becomes weaker

Overall, the antenna works well. Every so often, it loses the signal for a few seconds and the image pixelates especially on PBS. Picture is better than with cable!

This unit is expensive compared to some of the lower priced units. It claims to be able to get channels etc. but to honest it's no better than the $30 rca antenna I bought from bestbuy for my other room. Doesn't get any more channels, and breaks up just as much. Maybe there all the same.
