Customers are saying

Customers regard the UltraPro Bar HD 400 Indoor Amplified Antenna favorably for its picture quality and ease of use, with many also appreciating its compact size and attractive design. However, a significant number of users reported issues with reception and signal strength, leading to some dissatisfaction. While some found the channel selection adequate, others felt the price point was not justified by the performance. The antenna's setup was generally considered straightforward.

After scanning the channels this antenna picked up all stations except for NBC. The antenna is located in the city limits so I'm not sure what is preventing it from picking up that channel. Overall, the reception is very good for the other channels.

Hooked it up and ran the channel scan. Got three channels. Says it has veey long range. Does not. Might be okay for a city apartment. The store is in our vicinity and they should not sell this product around here, or at least put valid information on the packaging about performance. I'll bet it and the other indoor attennas are one of the most heavily returned items in the stores. Returned it.

Hello CWesleyG, Thank you for reaching out to us regarding our GE Ultra Pro Bar HD 400 Amplified Antenna. We’re sorry to hear that you’re experiencing signal issues with our product. Our goal as a manufacturer is to offer complete customer satisfaction for all our customers. We are very interested in providing consumers with a quality product that delivers the expected performance. Anytime we hear problems encountered in the use of one of our products, we want to work with you directly to resolve the issue, so you can enjoy our products to their full potential.
First, make sure that the antenna is fully extended on each end. This will allow the antennas dipoles to be fully extended for better reception. The antenna must be connected to the TV and connected to a power source at all times in order for the antenna to function properly. Once these steps are complete we suggest you run another channel scan. If you are still not able to access any channels, your antenna may be over amplifying the signal. We recommend that you turn off the amplifier behind the antenna and rescan for channels again. You can use a website like www.tvfool.com to find the direction your signals are coming from and position the antenna where it is facing toward the tower, as well as, positioning the antenna as high off the ground as you can. The repositioning will allow for optimum reception. You will need to rescan your channels once the antenna has been repositioned.
If you have any other questions, please contact our Support team at 1-800-654-8483, press option 4 and provide our Support Team with your personal ticket # 270501. We look forward to working with you to ensure your complete satisfaction with our GE Ultra Pro Bar HD 400 Amplified Antenna. GETechSupport

This amplified antenna has been very functional in a bedroom without cable or external dish available. Would recommend it for conditions that do not have regular TV connections available. HD picture is excellent with occasional loss of transmittion and picture breakup.

I liked this antenna as the picture quality of the channels were very good. Unfortunately, I had to place it by the window to receive the channels as putting it under the TV to make it look like part of the TV or sound system only picked up a few channels. The problem with putting it in the window is there are two cables-one goes to the TV and the other to the power so there are cables that are running across the floor, which I don't like. Also, I had to put the antenna vertically to get decent reception and it's supposed to be placed horizontally so that's a problem as well. This was not the best choice for my place but it seems to me with the right set up, this would be great.

I live in the city and I still do not get all the channels with this. Mohu leaf gets better reception than this, but this unit went on sale and I decided to try it out. Requires me to move the unit to another location of a shelf to get channels I do not get in one location of the shelf. Not a big deal, but c’mon it is 2018 and is this the technology for over the air TV?

This antenna worked great once it was position toward the signal tower, picture was a clear as cable. I did not keep the antenna due to my TV was one the side of the room where I could not pull in all my stations and I did not want to move the TV.

Was hoping the amplified longer range antenna would fill in the gaps my current antenna had. Unfortunately, no such luck. Looks sleek and works well just not any better than I already had. Wish they had run the power separate from the coax... made running power a little tricky as the USB port on my tv did not provide enough power to amplify the antenna.

I had been using a cheap antenna which would sometimes provide flaky service. This was unacceptable for Super Bowl LI, so I decided to upgrade my antenna to see if I could ensure a smooth broadcast. This antenna worked wonderfully. I get more channels and I get a more reliable signal. I'm 8 miles from the city, so this was the quality I expected.

This antenna was on sale for over half off. It looked pretty cool with extendable arms. However it did not pick up many channels for our viewing area and I found myself re scanning on a daily basis. The cables that came with it were not long enough for suitable mounting options.

Hello Stilts, we are very sorry to hear about your recent unsatisfactory experience you had with our product. As the manufacturer, we continuously strive to maintain high quality products that provide complete customer satisfaction.

Thank you for sharing your valuable feedback regarding the cable size, we will pass this information along to the proper department. We always appreciate suggestions of ways to improve future experiences with our products. To ensure you receive the maximum number of channels you may want to experiment re-positioning the antenna. For best antenna reception the ends of the antenna must me fully extended. Place the antenna as high as possible or near a window. You can use www.antennaweb.org to look for the DTV reception maps to determine the available stations and location of the broadcast towers in your area. Make sure to scan your TV for channels. This is a very important step. Your TV will NOT receive signals from the antenna without doing a channel scan. If you continue to receive poor TV reception, the antenna may be over amplifying the signal. Switch the amplifier to OFF position and re-scan your channels.

If the problem persists, please contact our Consumer Care team between the hours of 7AM – 8PM Central Standard Time, Monday thru Friday at 1-800-654-8483, press option 4, and provide our Tech Specialist with your personal ticket number 359690, so that we can resolve your issue promptly. I experimented with many indoor antennas before settling on this one. Your mileage may vary, but this one worked the best for me. I live in a hilly area about 15-20 miles from the local station towers and I am able to receive about 20-25 channels. I tried several powered "leaf" style window mount antennas and a few others but none of them picked up everything i needed. I wanted to be able to receive all the major networks over the air and this one was the only one I tried that got them all. It took some trial and error with placement and orientation but I eventually found a spot that worked and it has remained solid ever since.

Didn't see a difference between my $30 antenna and this one. I didn't pay full price, the reason I kept it. Get all the channels (same channels) that the cheaper one gets. So my suggestion is don't spent the $ if a less expensive, say a 30 or 40 dollars can give you the same results. I do like the fact that doesn't looks like an antenna, looks more like a speaker.

I am in an area with marginal coverage and wanted an indoor antenna for a second TV, mainly for the stations covering CBS, NBC, ABC, and Fox. This antenna does a reasonable job, but won't magically pull in weak stations. Easy to install.

This is one of the better antennas. It still needs to be in a window in order to work. It also works better with the window open. As all antennas that I have, none of them work well when it is raining.
