Gears of War was my first game purchase after purchasing my 360. It does have great graphics and fun, real gameplay that will have you on the edge of your seat. The only problems are the short gameplay and the repetitiveness. You will constantly be barraged by the same scenarios but in different levels. I still believe it is a must-buy for your Xbox library but it does have some problems that keep it from a great game.

Probably one of the best games ever made for the xbox. The graphics for gears is amazing from the textures of the environment to the look of popping off a locust's head. The multiplayer for this game almost never gets old. And the replayability for the campaign missions is great, you almost never get tired of it. Great game.

This is one of the older games on the xbox 360 but dont under look this title. Even though this is an old game these graphics are one of the best I have seen on the console. The gameplay is great, controls take a little time to ajust but thats it and the story line is deep and intuitive. The multiplayer is also superb.

This was the first game I played on my 360 .The graphics are as good as they say! I've got the 360 connected to my monitor via the 360 Vga Adapter running at 1280x1024. It looked stunning! As far as gameplay goes, it's a pain! It's fun, but the controls seem a bit sluggish at times, this can be helped by ratcheting up the sensitivity in the options menu. Overall an exciting trip down graphics lane!

If you want a shoot-em-up game with a lot of blood and gore, this is the game to buy. The graphics and sound are amazing on this game. The controls are fairly simple, but can give you a problem here and there. If you want to play a different kind of shooter game, then buy this.

first of all, if you dont have xbox live, GET IT. playing with 7 others over xbox live is simply a great experience. graphics are amazing, gameplay is amazing, guns are amazing and, hehe, the chainsaw is amazing. the taking cover aspect is awesome, and a little cloud of dust will come off of what you took cover behind. there are only 5 missions, but still, those 5 missions will keep you entertained for a long time. the only thing that is a minor setback to this game is the story. for some reason youre shooting some kind of aliens from underground? i was bit confused there. and at the end you dont feel as though you got anywhere. it wouldnt have been too hard to put in a simple 2 minute movie at the beginning to explain whats happening. Even though the story sucks, you will get distracted by every other jaw dropping, heart pounding, insanely awesome fire fight. you will just fall in love with this game. definite buy.

Gears of War has truly set the bar for the next generation gaming. Gears has a simple yet fantastic multiplayer experience. What is so interesting about the multiplayer is how easy and fast the tide of the battle can change. With the right timing and skill, one person can win the round. The next round, it may take the entire team acting as one to even survive for 60 seconds. The easiest way to win is to comunicate with your team. This comunication opens new socail experiences and even new friends. A downside to multiplayer is the host. The host has no lag what so ever and could dominate the other lagged-out players. The host is never indestructable, so dont be intimadated. It is also possible, if you press the A botton too many times to get stuck in cover or not able to reload. Including the solid campain story, Gears of War is a must have to any gamer.

The story is great and fun to play through. When you add a friend into the mix it is even better. MS made it really easy to invite a friend into your game at any time over xbox live. This is a wonderful addition to playing through a campaign.

This is a amazing game graphics everything, the only thing that took a while to get used to was the online, it is hard i personally like halo online more but this story was amazing If you need a game for the 360 get Gears Of War

I bought this game the day after I purchased my 360 in Feb 07. I still think this might be the best looking game out there. being pc gamer most my life, i hated playing fps with a controller. this game was a really good transition for me because of the easy to use and visually impressive/exciting cover firing system. the weapons available are very cool, my favorites are the stock chainsaw gun and the exploding arrows. the sound of the game is also very imersive. if you have a surround system, you will feel like your right in the middle of the gun fights. another added bonus is the halo/golden eye style split screen action. alot of next gen console games are taking this out in favor of network multi playing, but its fun if you got a friend go through the co-op with. the online play is pretty fun, my trial of live gold ran out so i only got to play it online for a few days. overall this is a great shooter, very theatrical and well paced action.

This a good game, graphics are ridiculously sweet!! great weapons and really engaging missions. Complaints are that, the games end up too repetitive. and pretty much who gets the good weapons is the winner, tough to outmaneuver the crazy weapons.

This is one of the first must have games for fans of the first person shooter genre on the Xbox 360. This game has some of the best graphics on the Xbox 360 so far. GOW also has a very good campaign mode that keeps you playing. Also the level of difficulty make it a challenging game for any level of gamer. The game is not a run and gun type shooter, and uses a very well done cover system so that you can hide in and out of cover. The game also does not utilize any jumping. This game is also around ten hours of campaign game-play. For those who are looking for a very dark and gory FPS that supports multi-player this is one of the best yet on the Xbox 360.

For the longest time I had no interest in playing this game. Never mind it is one of the highest rated games available for the Xbox 360. I mean don't get me wrong, I love first person shooters, but I am not really in to the whole sci fi thing. While I finally got my hands on the game about a week ago, and I will admit that I was pleasantly surprised. I understand why it received such high marks. It has solid game play that manages to through in just enough as the game progresses to keep the game play fresh and exciting. The weapons are fun to use and don't feel like they are all the same under the surface. The controls are also surprisingly easy. The multiplayer seems to be fun as well. I would recommend trying this game out even if you are not a fan of the sci fi genre, you might be pleasantly surprised!

This is quite possibly my favorite video game of all time. I am a huge fan of third person shooters and this one definately delivers. The co-op mode is incredibley fun. I am also very impresed with the fact that such a streamlined and paired down control interface can deliver such a rich varriation in character control. This game never gets boring. The graphisc are so impressive that they were woderfuly distracting th first few times I played the game. A necessary and solid purchase for any gamer, espescially those who are fans of shooters.

First off graphics are amazing for this game, the gameplay in my opinion are good as well. It has a cool feature called the cover system that you will use. the AI is great and the battles in this war game are accelerating and exiting and overall a very very fun game and i would say this is a must buy game, this game is the definition of next generation gaming, it's a very good game, if you have xbox live this is one of the best games to play online with, so like i said it 's a must buy game

I've been playing Gears of War for about 6 months now, and I have a lot of fun playing it. The campaign is great, story line is iffy, but the campaign mode is long and you can play co-op over xbox live with a friend. The multiplayer for Gears of War is outstanding! Some advantages are the graphics, weapon select, and level complexity. But, some disadvantages are the fact that if you're not hosting the bullet lag is worse than most xbox live games, the games are only 4v4, and most of the time the game just starts and everyone just rushes to the powerful weapons. Overall, this game is definitely worth buying!

Gears of War is the game that revolutionized the way all games are made today. With its state of the art graphics engine, it was able to push outstanding, realistic visuals and astound everyone who played it. But if you have not yet purchased this game, (I mean, it's been a really long time) you would do it now just to witness how the next gen revolution began. In Gears of War, you will instantly find that it is very gruesome, (make sure your parents aren't around) body parts and blood flying in an unrealistic fashion. With you in combat you will have a wide variety of powerful weapons in your arsenal, my favorite being the Assault Rifle with the chainsaw attached to it. You will also have three or one squad mate with you at all times but this doesn't mean that combat will be any easier. But now forget the combat, it's time to talk about the amazing visuals in this game. The lighting in dark areas give the game a frightening look and when you reach the majestic gold mine level later in the game, you will be awed by the flowing yellow liquid that seeps and flows everywhere around you. The water effects are the small details that make the game seem like the real world compared to most of the other games out at the time, especially the rain as it flows down trees and buildings and glistening in the light of your flashlight. So after writing through this long and horrible review, I can't really remember ever righting anything negative about this game, but if there were one thing I would personally mention, it's just a bit short, that's just my opinion you might think otherwise. Heed this review, go out and finish this game 4, 5, or 6 times because it's just that good.

Very gruesome game. Never get tired of using the chain saw option on gun. Middle of game face off against massive spider like creature. After watching the spider grasp for is last breathe before burning to ashes you run out lay down in some grass look up at the sky as if the game is over and then you realize its only the middle and you still have a ways to go. Visually - great graphically - great better than halo 3 - no but very close

this is probably my favorite shooter next to halo. lets put it this way if you like shooting, and your aloud to play gory games, get this, dont listen to anyone else, just get it, especially if you are aloud to play online. this is a must have. one of the best shooters since halo, except halo 3 is out now, but you also need this game
