Lives up to the hype about the game. I played it when it first came out and beat the game with a friend on Co-Op mode in an afternoon. I recently went through the campaign mode again by myself and it was a fun replay. My only gripeis that as is usual with shooters the campaign was pretty short.

I'm not sure this game needs another review, but at the same time I like people to know what I think. Gears of War is an excellent game. The single player graphically is phenomenal and the facts that you can play it with a friend on the same x-box 360 or through Xbox live from different countries. The campaign is a little short, but certainly fun to play and worth going through a few times. During the game you will find "cog" tags which if you find all of them you will receive some achievements for (I love hidden things in games). Online death match I do not like that much. It is broken, no respawn which makes it more real, but not fun. A short game is the best reason for it all. Also, you can't play ranked games with your friends, or with two people on the same x-box 360. Gears of War is still an extremely fun game. The Achievements on this game are good enough a good mix of easy, intermediate, and hard. Although the hard ones seem a little too hard, but if you get them it's probably a good feeling.

The campaign is extremely well done. Granted it is a little short at about 8 hours if you're playing on easy. Bump up the difficulty and you'll probably milk 10 hours out of the game. If you like horror movies, this game has plenty of missions where your palms will start getting sweaty and you're heart beats at 100 mph wondering what's around that next dark corner. The sound is excellent and so are the graphics. Definitely should play on hd and surround sound on this one. Gameplay controls are user-friendly. The A button makes you take cover and the right bumber reloads you're weapon. I liken the gameplay to playing paintball. You'll be spending the majority of your time shooting from behind cover while avoiding incoming shots and running (using the A button) from one cover to another.

Gears of War is one of the best games I've played in a long time. The graphics and game play are amazing. The game is well worth your money with a high level of replayability, especially if playing multiplayer games over LIVE.

Gears of War is one of those games that makes me proud to own a 360. Excellent graphics, great sound, control, gameplay, it's got it all! It may be a bit too short, but it'll leave you craving for the sequel... It's THAT good.

I've never seen any game in which you can tear opponents apart and see their blood and guts scattered and bouncing all over the place, with the amount of detail presented in this game. In this gritty universe, the mechanics of active reloading, corner shooting, defensive rolling and roadie running all play a critical part in changing battle scenarios, to ensure survival and victory. The chainsaw gun known as the lancer, is my favorite weapon, since it is two weapons in one. It makes your enemy shake, then tears them in two. No better way to get a quick and cinematic kill than hearing the hum of the saw.

This game is awesome! Campaign is fun, online is the best. Amazing graphics and gameplay, non-stop fun. The only thing I would reccomend is get Call of Duty 4 or Halo 3 first and wait for the price to drop on this one.

This game hands down has the best game play, and graphics compared to any game ont the market today, on any system.... its only flaw is the story line could be longer, but that does not stop me from playing it daily.

Igot this game the day it came out and I still play. this is the first game to really exploit the 360 and it worked. beautiful hd graphics, weapons to discover, AI that actually works, what more can you ask?

To be completely honest, this is one of the greatest games i have ever played. The story is gripping, visuals are amazing, and the game had a great soundtrack. This is a MUST buy if u own or will own a 360!

This game is really fun... The campaign is awesome. There are many new exciting features in this game. It is very realistic. The graphics are amazing. The only thing that I don't like about it is the the controls and maneuverability. It seems a bit stiff.

Gears of War (GOW), is an alright game for the casual gaming type of person. The game has many flaws a competitive player would spend finding instead of actually playing. Multiplayer is definitely not worth it. This game is great for campaign mode though.

This is one of the greatest third person shooter games i have ever played. the story line is a good one and the muliplayer of xbox live is very fun too. The Weapons are easy to use and get use to.

If you like shooting things and awesome graphics, this is the game to buy for the Xbox360. Hours of single player action and infinite hours to play in multiplayer. A must have for any 360 owner.

To me this is just one of the best games xbox has. The game controls don't get any better the weapons are great. It has a long game play and it's just fun. Of all my games this one ( and Ninja Gaiden) is well rounded and you actually get more than your moneys worth. If you'r not into the cursing, dont get near this game. I personaly dont mind but sometimes they over do it. Most people will think thats one of the coolest things about it. As far as online, I dont can't speak to that I played a little but never got into it. In my top 5

this game's biggest fans are from those who aren't very good at halo2 multiplayer. this is a good solid game and the mulitiplayer is fun. however, people always come back to halo 2. this will hold you over until sept 25 when halo 3 comes out.

This game is awesome all the way around. Good grapics, good gameplay, good store, good online play, my only gripe is that you have to wait so long for a game online hosting.

Story mode can be played by 1 or 2 people. Co-op mode is much more fun and a lilttle easier 2 play. Xbox live is where its at though, from annex to assination its by far in my opinion to be the best online shooter of its time. In annex u secure the weapon spawn points for a period of time to gain points, Assination only yur leader has 2 die 2 end the match, Warzone is jus a team based kill the other side, and finally Exicution same as warzone except when yur downed u have so many seconds b4 yur back up and in the fight. Over all its one of the few games i would buy again and again if i had 2. It really never gets boring.

well the thing about gears of war it is best to buy it if you have a large non pixly tv because the ingame text is really really small and if you have a smaller tv it will be really hard to understand exactly what is going on becasue you wont beable to readd the text on the bottem and top of the screen so ya that is just a little helpful hint if you are planning on buying gears of war... but besides that i would reccomend gears of war to anyone it is a great game and espessially at best buy becasue the have they best prices and worrenty dealss i have EVAR SEEEEN IN MY LIFE THANK YOU BEST BUY YOUR THE GREATEST...

The graphics are great and it is extremely fun. The single-player is extremely short however, 10-15 hours max. Definite buy if you play Xbox Live, great online play and support, only negative is lack of campaign.
