I recently purchased Geek Squad support for two years at $279. I’m not one to complain or write letters, but your lack of customer service has caused left me extremely frustrated and upset! I brought my computer in the first time for a few issues on 11/4/12. The main issue was infections on the HD, but I also asked for RAM and a video card to be added. I asked for options while I was there, but I was assured an agent would contact me when the computer was being fixed. I was also told the Geek Squad would install their own virus protection which comes with the plan. I don’t remember the person I spoke with on my first visit, but he mentioned the service would take approximately 7 days. He said they’re supposed to call us, but I should probably call the store, because they sometimes “get so busy, they forget to call”.
I received a call a week later stating my computer was ready. I never received a call about adding RAM or a video card. I called the store back stating I didn’t receive the service I was promised, and I needed to speak with someone about my upgrade options. After two more phone calls, the person was able to install more RAM and a video card.
I took the computer home and started it up. First thing I noticed was my A/V software was still installed, and there was no new A/V software. Then I noticed I had no sound, and I couldn’t fix the audio issue thru the control panel. I went online to check my emails, then closed internet explorer and logged out. I later found that I was sending spam emails to my entire contact list. I went back to my computer and noticed while my A/V software was installed, it was not active!!! I decided I needed to take my* computer back in…..
My second visit gets worse! I got to the store as it opened on 11/14/12. I explained to Claudia (manager on duty) that I brought my computer in a week ago, and I felt the computer was not running any faster (my third visit, I spoke with John who showed me why…thank you, John!!!), and I had new issues that didn’t exist until I visited the Geek Squad. She explained my computer had to go back into the service queue, and it would be 7 – 10 days to get back. I tried telling her the proper thing to do is to put mine at the beginning of the queue, since I had already been without my computer for a week. She wouldn’t budge, stating that’s the protocol she had to follow. I then said if this is the type of customer service I should expect, I want out of the contract and my money back. She said that wasn’t possible. I asked for another manager, and she said she was the highest ranking manager on duty. She then said she would “meet me halfway” and get the computer back within 4-5 days. I reluctantly agreed, and told her I hope she can find a way to get it done sooner. I received my call stating the computer was finished on 11/21!!! In case you’re counting, you had my computer another 8 days! On the positive side, John was very helpful! He went over each issue and showed me that each was resolved. While I was in the store the third time, I noticed three other customers very frustrated with your service and quality of work, so I know I’m not alone.
So now I’ll repeat to you….if this is the type of service I should expect to receive, I want my money back! At the very least, I feel I’m owed some type of compensation for the lack of customer service and my wasted time due to your poor quality of work.

We just purchased our Acer computer and the first thing I tried to hook up was my printer. On my old computer, you just plugged it in and it found the new hardware. Not with this new one but I called the geek squad. I was only on hold for about 10 minutes and spoke to Melony S for the basic info and she transferred me to Benjamin H. who was great. He found that my printer was sooooo old that he had to remote in and download a software update to get the new computer to find the printer and was able to set it up as a scanner as well. It took about 30 minutes and I know that he saved me hours of frustration and probably purchasing a new printed when I couldn't figure it out.
