Needed for crashing computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Our computer ended up with a virus and the solution for our situation seemed to be purchasing this 1 yr agreement. I am fine with it because it saved our hard drive, but the service cost 2/5 of the overall price of the brand new computer (which we purchased in late November). Needless to say, we are backing things up differently.

The Best Service Techs.

I was aware of what they offer but hesitate of trying their service. On my first visit, I was not only impress with their knowledge, but explain to me all the little detail of my laptop I never knew. I know they were going into the holiday weekend business so I knew if I didn't get my laptop as promise, I would accept it. Not only they took care of my problem, but I got my laptop by in a shorter time. I thank the manager and staff for a AAA job. I would recommend the Geek Squad to everyone.

PC was not in stock so few days later had to drive back to take pc from 1 counter to the geek counter. But due to backload, they could take the disk now. Now, have to go back to store again when ready. 7 days after giving Geeks the PC, was told heavy backload, that they have 90 PCs in front of me.

Geek Squad is a life saver!

My computer was only a few months old. I contacted Geek Squad and it's so easy, convenient, and efficient to go to the website, live chat. It's awesome that they can remotely get on to your computer and fix it and I don't even have to drive anywhere! Some people might not like that concept, but the convenience is worth it. It is secure and their customer service is excellent! I actually had to get their help a second and think a third time. I figured out it was the free security software that made me continue to have problems.

Great Computer for School work

This one is nice though ,but windows 8 takes some getting used too. I do not like the apps especially since their are so many which I think takes up extra space. Now that I have taken a computer technology course recently I have learned a lot about computers and I will be more educated about my purchase next time.

Nice to have help when you need it!

The day of purchase a technician installed my virus protection software, as well as the MS Office package. That way when I got home my computer was ready to use! If I have any issues with it, I know I can go back to get it resolved without having to pay for a year.

Disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We bought a new laptop for my daughter and our salesperson said that all the software and virus protection would be loaded onto it by the end of the day. We live out of town so we stayed in the area and went to dinner. When we came back 6 hours later, which was 45 minutes before closing time. The Geek Squad person who finally talked to us told us that they got busy and it wouldn't be ready until the next day. We told him that could not happen because we live more than an hour away from the store. He rudely told us to wait a d he would get it ready. 45 minutes later he brought us the computer. When we got it home it was not fully set up. He had not loaded the Microsoft Office or the virus protection. I was pretty mad. My 15 year old daughter had worked all summer to pay for this computer and for the Geek Squad service for it. However, as I loaded the Office onto the computer, we noticed some issues with getting onto our wifi. I called Geek Squad and the person I spoke with spent 20 minutes talking me through different so mutinous until it was fixed. She was very friendly and helpful. I think we just ended up with a bad employee at the store.

Don't leave the store without it!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Basic setup for our Samsung laptop was simple, but we had difficulty figuring out how to place shortcuts for Office on the desktop to improve accessibility. We placed a call to tech support and did have to go through 3 layers of people to get to the tech support specialist we needed. Once we did, he connected to our computer and via the chat feature we were able to describe all of the "wish list" items we needed to fix to make the PC more user friendly. Not only did the tech correct these quickly, he also showed us how to do it for future reference. The process took about 30 minutes. No driving back to the store to resolve the problem necessary. What a timesaver!

Going Slow Won the Race

Resolution: It couldn't be fixed at the store level, at the next level and because of the challenge, the Geek Squad took it to their super high level tech people who took the challenge personally and fixed the problem. Summary: Way above and beyond what I expected for my money. Time and money well spent.

Great for a person who is not a tech savvy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The tech support could not assist me the first time I needed assistance with installation of my security system because the technician that came to my home and cleaned up my computer and installed the system, did not provide me with the password. It caused many phone calls and I had a headache afraid I was not protected. In the end it all worked out. I would purchase it again despite the issue.

Takes the worry away

I know you can purchase an additional warranty to cover things such as hardware problems and accidentals... but that entails another purchase. Overall... it's a good membership and worth it.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have a virus problem and every time I bring it in, it is okay for a few days then it starts having pop up and telling me my computer is going to crash. Also, when I brought it in and asked them to clean everything that was bad off of it, I lost my Microsoft Office that came with the computer when I purchased it. Don't use it very often but when I went to use it, it isn't listed in my programs.

OK service

I had the warranty and the agent said no big deal you should have it back in a week. It actually was faster took about 5 days. good. When I received my computer, I noticed the backing was scratched and the screws were not all the way in. really? I told the guy he said sorry can't do anything about that. Overall product is good, service is horrible.

Repair did the most basic but left work undone.

The data from the C:drive could be salvaged so there was no need to take the data off the backup D: I purchased a replacement C: When I got home, I found by good backup drive was in the box for the purchased replacement C: drive and the bad C:drive was still in the computer along with the new good C: It was easier for me to sap out the bad C: drive for the backup drive than bring it in again but the job should have been done correctly the first time. I would recommend that you look further for a good repair facility or check your repaired computer over closely when you pick it up. The e-mail also had to be tweaked to get it working after I get it home.

positive experience in buying Toshiba notebook

I am glad that I purchased the Geeksqad support. Had to use it and was very satisfied. Only one complaint: When I went back to the store to get more advice, the original sales agent just about ignored me and referred me to someone who could not help me because she was not trained in Windows 8. So I left, frustrated.

Don't buy a computer with out them.

There are all those questions--data transfer, set up--including most current OS, installation of new programs, and trying to learn how to use the newest OS. Well, that's what your GEEK SQUAD is all about. Our transition to the new DELL was one of the most friendly experiences we have yet to encounter, all thanks to the numerous Geekers who worked with us, patiently, professionally, and with a high level of expertise. And, this occurred during the busy Christmas Season. We would not have purchased this unit but for the Geek Squad.

AWESOME!!!!

Had a ransom ware virus on my daughter's pc that instantly stole her desktop and locked her out unless she paid a bogus firm $100 immediately. Also had playtopus malware on my son's pc that hijacked his homepage/desktop as well. Bought the Geek Squad 1 year support plan which gives you unlimited support on 3 PC's for one year. They remotely dialed into both pc's and removed the viruses and they have worked great ever since. In addition, they installed spyware/malware/virus protection software on both pc's (which is part of the initial $200 tech support fee). Very satisfied overall. We have peace of mind again.

Greaat customer service

The employees were helpful, communicated well, you could ttell by their demeaner that they had the knowledge to do their job. I know the prices are similar to others but I thought the reputation exceeeded the other companies.

perfect solution for maintaining computers

Even with an alternative computer to work with, I need quick and reliable support when there is a problem. This type of use with computers (work) also has a higher than average chance of computer viruses, spyware, malware, etc, as we get a lot of e mail from unknown sources. Finally, if something happens to the computer/s that can not be resolved by phone, there is a friendly, local and supportive point of contact to take the computer to. I am so glad to have discovered this service, and it has proven to be very economical as well.
