    Normal tech support - not the greatest.

    Had two experiences with tech support so far. One agent was very helpful, very patient, and explained everything, which made me feel they were truly there to support me. The second agent was absolutely not supportive, was not patient or helpful. Acted as if he did not want to help me. Made me think that I wasted my money paying for Geek Squad, and now I am seriously doubtful if I should request their help if I need it, for fear of the agent, and what type of person he/she is. If I had known this, I would not have purchased the 1 year Geek Squad support. A waste of my money. And I absolutely would NOT recommend this to a friend.

    Hard drive in PC replaced

    The second time, after I had been struggling with the PC for 3 weeks, I was told by an associate to bring the computer back to the store, the hard drive might be defective. After waiting for about 25 minutes, a very pleasant young man had me explain to him what my problems were. He opened the computer and after about 15 minutes, diagnosed the problem, switched some connections around and I cannot thank him enough for fixing the problem. It has been working great ever since. He told me he had 18 years of experience working with computers and have seen a similar problem once or twice before and told me if it did not work, they will replace the drive. My thanks to this exceptional technician. Hang on to him.

    The Lanesborough, MA Geek Squad Team is outstanding. They have repeatedly shown to me a tremendous customer service presence. As a customer, I have always been treated as special. Each issue I have had has been checked and re-checked that the issue has thoroughly been corrected. The Geek Squad Tech has always explained to me how the issue was corrected and walked me through the functionality of the fixed computer. Each time I have needed their help, I have always received their full attention as I explained the problem. This Geek Squad team is a team which goes the extra mile for its customers. I will always recommend them highly.

    Excellent Service - Extraordinary Staff

    We took a computer in to be restored to factory specs since we wanted to give it to a friend. The team gave us a clear overview of what would be done and when we should expect the computer back. We received a call that the hard drive was bad (thus causing the s-l-o-w response times). The Geek Tech researched and suggested a good but low cost hard drive but also said we could buy one on our own and bring it in - no pressure. Nice! All was done, the computer was restored and cleaned, and works great. It will soon be in the hands of someone who otherwise would still be using a dinosaur - all for a reasonable cost. Thanks!

    $100 seemed OK for a year's help, but we have called three times...stayed on the phone way too long....we do not know a lot about computers....and the agents could not help us the third time. Then I noticed it would be at least $49 if one came to the house....so I'm wondering if it was really a good deal.

    James at Hot Springs Store is Excellent help!

    The Geek Squad (ie James at Hot Springs store) has always met or exceeded my expectations. However, while I appreciate Best Buy's policy to answer any questions and give instructions, I find it difficult to sit and wait to pickup my repaired business computer while listening to a tech giving a detailed explanation on how to turn or and off an electronic device. I strongly suggest highly technically skilled employees such as James, be freed to answer the difficult technical questions and the less difficult questions be handled by a less senior technician. Also, when there to pickup a repaired device, there should be no waiting.

    I have bad luck with electronics

    I wish I didn't have to spend the extra money on this, but I have horrible luck with electronics. I wasn't happy spending the extra scratch, but the geek squad techs are very helpful and knowledgeable. I'm hoping that I won't have to employ this warranty, but I'm comforted to know that it's there.

    I love having geek squad, but the people that work it the computer department have to learn patience. If Iknew anything about computers I wouldn't be paying for their services. Them being rude and getting frustrated with me almost makes it not even worth having. The hassle with the representatives is almost greater than the hassle I endure when I have a problem with my computer.

    We have had HP before and it still is a good buy Tre, Chris and Nicole were a great help in the experience. Chris explained the difference between several brands and gave us the knowledge to make a good choice. Nicole was friendly and knowledgable. Tre went out of his way to help us, to initiate us on the computer and helped us with 2 lap tops that needed to be serviced.

    The Geek Squad is a great amenity when purchasing a computer. I do not feel uncomfortable when I do not understand the computer technical question. They put it in layman terms so I could respond to the question. The sales folks need to make customers aware the Geek Squad are available to set up the computer for home ready & just "plug-in". I am bringing in my new computer and am looking forward to their assistance.

    The computer I brought in now works, for the most part, but the system now needs some adjustments I don't know how to do. The screen size (I think) has changed so that I sometimes can't get to see or use items at the bottom of the screen. There must be something wrong with the equipment I get online through, because I'm still experiencing freeze-ups when checking email or on websites. Seems better today; maybe that has been addressed by the provider. I haven't yet got the Webroot software on any other computer. I'm not sure Either of my laptops can receive it without upgrade. Worst is the fact that I was told my money was buying two years of service (my service order receipt 00338-982859211 says the plan expires 07/20/2015) but this inquiry of yours reports that I got a 1-year subscription! What is going on?

    Had my computer in for work it took days to tell me it would need recovery discs . brought in discs and it took 3 days to tell me one disc was not working so had to order another disc then it took 4 days to call me back to tell me it was finished

    I opened my laptop and on the screen was a message from the FBI saying I needed to send money to unlock my computer. I immediately new I had a virus and didn't understand how McAfee didn't catch this. So, who do you call? GEEK SQUAD and they immediately knew what it was and told me to bring it in. They were pleasant, efficient, explained what the virus was and how McAfee misses these, and didn't make me feel foolish! In only 1 day I received a call that it was ready to be picked up. I worried about personal things as I hadn't backed it up in a while but everything was still there. What a wonderful service!

    When purchasing my new HP computer, I felt it was very important to also purchase the Geek Squad Technical Support Coverage. The cost of the coverage was a small price to pay for the "peace of mind" it gives knowing that any time, day or night, if you have an immediate need for "HELP!!", they are there! Having owned many computers over the years, I am well aware that problems happen - no matter how well you maintain your computer or protect it. The "GEEKS" are always there to answer questions, troubleshoot problems, and FIX problems. I highly recommend Best Buy's GEEK SQUAD if you purchase a computer!

    Got this service package for my moms new computer since she's always calling me now to fix things (and I am far from an expert). She loves being able to call now or use online support for 24/7 assistance. I like that we can add two more devices to the support and was even more surprised that those devices can be apple products and did not need to be purchased from Best Buy. Not that my Mac needs much support (sorry Windows people) but it's nice to have that extra option if I need it.

    My geek squad agent was experienced and throughly competent. Of course as a Microsoft MSVP and TechSquad member, so am I. But I do not have the bench space or equipment for testing hardware. My agent confirmed the hardware problems and then we devised a plan to mitigate the damage. It worked!

    As I said, I was told by another retailer that the PC I'd purchased from them had "probably" overheated and was "dead". I was told I needed to buy a new computer. So--- along with the new computer I purchased at BEST BUY, I got the support that included analyzing and treating up to 2 other computers. So, I took my PC laptop in-- and in a couple days I got a call that it was up and running fine. I am so impressed with the Geek's Squad's knowledge and ability. I will go nowhere else now for computer help. What was needed was a new power cord and some virus removals. Incredible! Thank you so much, GEEK SQUAD!
