    We came into Best Buy to purchase a new computer because our older one finally went out. We ended up getting the protection on the new computer and up to three computers. We were able to bring our old one in and they fixed it! Now our daughter has a computer to use! We like the new technology of the new one, she is happy to have one at all. They are always friendly and decently fast. Sometimes there is a line, but isn't there always when it's worth waiting for? We have a friend that could repair our computers for free, but we have to wait too long, this option is great!

    I bought Geek Squad protection for 3 years (not 1). I am a first time user of a laptop and had last bought a computer over 10 years ago. I have had to contact Geek Squad by telephone probably 5 or 6 times in a month and they have not been very helpful over the phone. Ultimately I had to take my brand new laptop back to the store and they had it for over a week. Since I've had it home I've TRIED to call them 3 times and return calls instead of being on hold and each time they returned my call the call was disconnected and once I finally ended up "holding" the person was not able to help me once again, says I need to take it into the store AGAIN!!!!! Also initially I was not informed if I need them to come to my house there would be an additional charge.

    This product is great for anyone with a computer. This product is great because you have someone to fix your computer. it is like a having a great warranty on your other devices also because this covers two others in your home.So essentially, you have a warranty on two other products that wasn't even purchased at best buy. I love that they will fix another person's product for free. The customer service is also great when I take stuff in to be looked at by the geek squad. They are so very knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend this product to any and everyone.

    Because of the problems with my computer I went to the Geek Squad in Kings Highway several times. The first person I encountered, the customer service representative was busy saying a long farewell to her friends before she turned her attention to me. The second time she took care of me was was not particularly pleasant or cordial. The first time the Geek Squad fixed my computer, they told me an unlikely story that it failed because it was invaded by 70 viruses, even they they installed the spyware and this happened within the first ten minutes of use. By the time I came back the second time, furious, they gave me a bit of a hard time to exchange the machine for another, although they did do it and they transferred everything from the old machine to the new one.

    The Geek squad helper I got was willing to spend more than an hour helping me get used to my new laptop and windows 8. He was very knowledgeable! When I came a different time, the person at the desk was not very knowledgeable and I started to get frustrated that it was taking so long and so little got done. I know people need to learn, but someone at the Geek Squad desk already needs to know whats happening. Next time I go I will ask for "Who is the best at laptops?" and request that the person indicated help me. The price for having tech support is really worth it.

    Much time spent back & forth to store~phone for geek squad support,and glad I spent the extra $$$ for the help. I'm not too techno-savvy and the guys were helpful; l got a kick out of watching the phone guys take over my mouse and the help to clean up my computer so they could properly make the adjustments needed for desktop to iPad transfer.

    my 10 year old grandson clicked on a popup and loaded a virus into my desktop even though I had a virus protection installed, The Geek Squad Tech Support was able to clean up my desktop and reload all my data that I had saved. They also recommended to have Kaspersky's virus protection verses the one that I originally had, that didn't work .

    I was able to use the Geek Squad help at any time of the day or night ! They solved all my issues by remote control ! It saved me from dragging in my tower to the store. The agents were super friendly, and explained everything that they were doing ! I was extremely thankful that they took the time to help me, and were very respectful to me! I trusted what they did to my pc, and it turned out very well. I'm so glad that I bought the year subscription!

    Useful if you buy it with a purchase and get a discount. Also useful as it will cover up to 3 different computers on the same plan. I have already used it, and was satisfied with the way my issue was handled and recovered.

    24/7 telephone assistance

    Having 24/7 telephone assistance available is great. But, having to pay extra for a resolution of the assistance request is not so great. I wanted assistance in downloading a program of my retired PC and they offered to do it remotely for a fee or to tell me how to do it for another $20 lesser fee. It was part of the PC tuneup package.

    My computer needed a new harddrive and since this is something I don't feel that I can do I went with Geek Squad. The harddrive was put in but some of the software I left with them to load wasn't done. They even told me I didn't give it to them even though they returned it to me with their sticker on it when I picked up the computer.

    I hated to spend the extra money but it's been a good value. Instead of trying to get a hold of Lenovo support, geek sqaud has been able to resolve problems or questions. Since they are located throughout the US I have gotten people from the south who have been a little hard to understand but nothing like talking to India or China!

    The Geek Squad's an exceptional group of knowledgeable individuals who are very understanding and patient with us technically challenged computer owners. They have been outstanding in assisting me while setting up a new desktop and making it fully functional with my other accessories. With all the changes in processing systems they have been a vital asset to me.

    Having very little computer knowlegde myself, the Geek Squad tech support membership has been a beneficial purchase. I have been given help from the comfort of my home as the technition worked on my computer online, as well as from the service dept. in my local Best Buy Store. They are always very helpful and solve my problems.

    I had a issue registering on the day I purchased my new notebook only to bring it to the Geek squad and had it resolved immediately.I have had the best tech help with issues on my older computer which was fixed within a small window of time This is wonderful to know I have someone close by or a phone call away when I have a tech issues. I took the 3 yr. coverage because I know I will always own a computer...Love this insurance....

    The Geek Squad transferred all our data and took our dead (less than 1 year old) Gateway and returned it to the company for repair. While it was dying, my husband spent an entire Saturday on the phone with techs from India(cost $376). The 1st tech found 300 malwares but didn't get rid of them. The 2nd had him turn the machine off and on just with the on switch so often it froze solid then told him there was no power ( the light was on, but nobody was home). The Geek lady I contacted ,helped me imput all the stuff I needed and was just super!

    It would have been nice if they had explained when I picked up my computer that I should make an appointment to have any work done by the Geek Squad so I wouldn't have had to leave my computer and make a trip back to pick it up for what was probably less than a half hour of work. I'll be sure to have an appointment next time.

    Agents are knowledgeable, they quote on how long it takes for them to complete a job is usually longer than it really takes. There really isn't a point in making an appointment though. You still have to wait in line to check in and it is usually busy. Once you're checked it, everything flies by with great customer service.

    This product is a nice tool that I believe many customers could benefit from, however, it has flaws that I have encountered with the first week;s use. I would like to get information on hat schooling and knowledge (example: tests or exams that have to be passed to be a Geek-Squad tech.) I would also like the option for a very highly rated "expert" to be online at at all times. ( needed quantity of techs per area of customers) Lastly, I spent three hours on the phone with two different agents and got COMPLETELY different results, neither of which solved my issue. Fortunately and luckily, I was able to fix the issues with my brand new iMac on my own. This was bothersome. I would still like to place a good comment on the board for Geek Squad. The other time I called I did receive a very knowledgable agent that was able to assist me in (a.) a reasonable amount of time. and (b.) dispense an accurate resolution
