My personal ASUS laptop computer which warranty just expired at end of July completely crashed and had to be reformatted by the Geek Squad so I purchased the Geek Squad Service for one year. It was perfect timing and can be used for up to three devices. I also have ASUS home computer which I have had no issues with since purchased in March of 2011. I also have a 40" Sony Google HD TV and a smartphone which can always have issues that can arise and need attention from the Geek Squad. I would suggest to anyone with multiple devices.

If you ever have ANY kind of computer or software problem they are there for you 24/7. Very friendly and professional. You never get a computer voice, you get real people who understand your problem. They are quick to fix it. No need to panic if your computer is crashing in the middle of the night and you have a report to finish. They are great. Best thing I ever did was get the 1 year subscription for the Geek Squad 24/7 Service.

I was hesitant to try this out, but after talking to some Geek Squad representatives at the AARP Convention, I was convinced that to was worth the price. I have been very pleased with my service, as they have installed two items for me, and recovered the items on a dead external backup computer. They have done things in a very timely manner, and been very courteous and helpful in all cases. The main reason I was convinced was that they will service all my items such as my Mac, my PC, my IPad, etc., even products purchased last year.

Trouble with printing - long time with geek squad----however, the phone geek squad is much more effective than those in the Decatur store. one of the people in store is impatient, irratable and not very helpful. He knows what he is doing but does not understand it is diffucult for people who are not very technical savy.

My computer had been a bit gimpy for some time, but after the latest virus it was as close to garbage as I could imagine. If I could've accessed my files, I probably would've just bought a new computer. However, I couldn't and didn't want to deal with all of those online services who 'clean up' your system for a nominal fee. When I got my system back from Best Buy, it was better than ever and should give me years of future service. It was worth the price I paid just for fix; the year of included service is quite the perk though.

Michael D was right on time, worked efficiently, and explained what he was doing so that I could understand. He also told me about the 15% discount that I should receive due to AARP membership, and when I went to the store and asked about it Sherry was awesome. Very impressed - glad my nephew recommended this service.

My computer had a problem of not able to sigh onto windows. The agent recommend me to bye a geek squad support. The major concern to me were the precious photo files of mine to be saved and retrieved. The agent lied about it a first. But the supervisor Reid intervened in to handle it and finally made the lost hard drive which was replaced found and the data in it retrieved and sent to me. Thank you, Reid! Still the Best buy is the electronic store that customers like to shop and look for help with the products bought from there.

You could spend days trying to figure stuff out on your own, or you could call your friends to see if their geekiest kid is available some time in the next 2 weeks or you can just get the right answer the first time you call the Geeks. Program didn't load right? no problem. Need more RAM but don't want to send sparks flying? Take your laptop to the geeks & in 10 minutes you're walking out the store. Best deal in town. No, I don't work for Best Buy and no, I won't buy another computer without the Geek Squad as my backup plan.

If you have computer issues a lot, they recommend getting this service, which helps with the out of pocket costs every time they need you to bring it in over the next two years. Good thing is they will clean the dust out of your computer to help it run more efficiently. This was a 2 year contract.

Being shall we say "challenged" when it comes to dealing with computers, I could never have dealt with changing to Windows 8 without Geeksquad's help. They have taken over my computer numerous times in the last 6 weeks in order to help me through one problem or another. It is so easy to initiate a chat session, explain my problem, and then sit back while they solve it, explain it, do whatever needs to be done to get me going again. They do this with patience, humor, efficiency and expertise. Couldn't ask for more.

My husband's laptop became infected by the FBI Virus. I immediately contacted our local Best Buy to speak to the Geek Squad. It was explained to me what my options were. Deciding to take the lap top down to be look at I purchased the 1 year Tech Support Membership and have been very pleased. The Techs are very friendly and knowledgeable. No only were they able to remove the virus, they advised me of other issue the laptop was having. I have since called them on another issue and at that time too was give great service.

I bought a computer tower for my kids to play games on from an internet source I was unfamiliar with and had problems from the instant it arrived. I took it to my local Best Buy and purchased the Geek Squad and they have quickly and efficiently dealt with all the problems that arose. The staff was kind and patient with all my questions. I could not have asked for better service. I wish I had bought the 2 year plan now!

I bring home a new computer they set up and it has a virus when I plug it in. Also one of the programs was set up wrong for the Win 8. HP was great to straighten it out. Geek squad back up is great for using up toe 3 computers on plan. 24/7 and the service, both for older and new ones. I am happy with it. It is only going to be as good and reliable as the individual doing the work. I am not impressed with the "kids" working at the counter and admitting they don't know, and don't seem to want to or know how to find out.

I signed up for support then found my Microsoft office was not transferred. Other problems include my address book was not transferred. some online windows do not show a print button or an x to close the item. I tried to get the Microsoft fixed by phone and it is still not working. I have an agent coming out May 1.

I'm so glad I spend the extra money to get tech support, because I've used it several times already! I couldn't get a program to work right on windows 8 and they did all they could to help get it to working. Even though it took several calls (cause it would start working and then stop) they finally got it! When I have the chance, I'm going to call them and have them check a couple other computers too, since it's good for up to three! So worth the extra money we spent on it...especially with a brand new computer.

    Remove virus/replace harddrive on laptop

We brought our laptop in to Geek Sqaud in Rochester, MN October 9, 2012 to have a virus removed and was told a few days later that it had failed the harddrive tests. It was up to us to replace the harddrive. We were told "it would probably only last you another 6 months at the most." We decided to replace the harddrive. My wife dropped off the disks we had made after receiving the computer (we never received a recovery disk with the computer) on October 16th. Almost a week passed and I hadn't heard from the Geek Squad so I called them October 22nd only to have the phone ring numerous times with no answer. I called the number for the store and was told that a message would be left and that I would receive a return call. I did not. I called Geek Squad later on that same day & was able to speak with an associate. He told me that in their records they had "called 12 hours after the disks were dropped off and left a message saying that we needed to have the recovery disks that came with the computer because the disks that were dropped off were not the correct ones." This comment upset me because I HAD NOT received any calls or voicemails from them. Also, my wife dropped the disks off at 6pm. That means that they would have called me at 6am the following morning. The store doesn't open until 9am. The associate informed me how to obtain the correct recovery disks. We received the disks later on that week and my wife dropped those disks off on October 30th. My wife was told at that time that we would be receiving a call from them within a couple days. Monday November 5th we had yet to hear from them. I called them once again only hearing numerous ringing on the other end. I once again called the store only to be told that a message would be taken and I would receive a call back. Once again I did not receive a call. I called Geek Squad later on the same day and was able to speak with an associate. He told me that he had not received my message but that my computer was ready and apologized for not calling me upon it's completion and mentioned that somehow something got messed up in their procedure. I went to pick up my laptop on Tuesday, November 6th. Upon walking up to the counter I saw 2 associates. I stood at the checking in sign waiting to be acknowledged for about 5-6 minutes. The two associates and myself were the only people at the counter. When an associate did pay attention to me I informed him of the reason for my appearance. He said, "We called you to let you know it was done?" I replied, "No, I called you." When the associate went to retrieve my laptop the other one came over to me to ask if I'd been helped. I told him that I had and he said, "Good, I hate seeing people wait." We are thoroughly displeased with the service we received & will seriously consider other services prior to returning. We do not feel this service was worth the $270 and the time we spent without our laptop that is needed for college work. If I spend this much money I expect someone to answer the phone when I call, even if I'm put on hold. I expect to be notified when my product is finished. I do not feel these expectations are unreasonable for any amount of money somebody would spend. I work at a dollar store and when people call they actually get to talk to someone. I would expect atleast the same from a place that is much more expensive. I called a total of 6 times and the phone was only answered twice by a Geed Squad Agent. This is unacceptable.

We were happy with our service. We shopped around to find the best price since we have more than one computer, Best Buys Geek Squad had the best price. They removed all the viruses from our laptop, but our desktop was beyond repair. We still have coverage for our new desktop if anything should go wrong with it.

I really liked the fact that I could get my new pc set up and not have to fuss with that myself. I believe that the group is knowledgeable about the industry. My main discontent has been the amount of time spent trying to get in touch with the group. Also I am frustrated because it seems like the automated system and the stores are not in sync. I got a call from a store that I could pick up my pc and an hour later, I get an email saying that I need to call the 800 number ASAP to approval the repairs needed for my pc. I called and the person that answered the phone had no clue about the status or why that email was sent. They then hung up on me and I had to get in the cue again.
