I'm pretty picky with the military movies I watch, and even more so with those that depict things prior to World War I. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this movie, and even my kids enjoyed it, which was a plus.

It's historically accurate. It's well acted. It's long - approaching 4 hours. But at the price it was in the bin and being a history buff it's a good deal.

great movie, the ending felt like it was cut too soon. also, the reason for the civil war should have been further explored. the movie did mention it was state rights and not slavery that was the cause of the civil war, which is true.

This has got to be one of the greatest civil war films of all time. This would be a great teaching film for school age children. It has a lot of historic data and also a great presentation.

It kind of dragged but It's definitely a movie good for and history class. Again, it dragged when I watched it but I did finish watching it. It's probably a movie I won't be watching from my DVD set for a while.

Very good depiction of the Civil War experience with wonderful cast performances. Held my attention from start to finish with an excellent script.

If you like civil war era you will enjoy this movie. I like all the players, that is what first caught my eye. Then the Civil War caught my attention next. Very entertaining for a family.

I know that this is a classic because it is a movie that I want to watch for ages to come. It is a touching, gritty, but amazing and heroic film. The actors were superb. Thank you

My husband bought this movie for our two sons and they really enjoyed watching it! They learned more about history and then started asking questions. It was a fun family time!

Been wanting to see this for a long time. I assume it will be worth the hype and waiting. Haven't watched it yet but will soon. Many thanks to our armed forces men and women, past and present.

it was a replacement of one I had already had. It was a great movie and learned more about one of the great battles of the Civil War

Although very graphic this movie tells the details of the Gettysburg battles very well. Learned some of the strategies behind the battle scenes.

I had not seen this version of Gettysburg and was surprised how good it was. It has a lot of great stars and the battle scenes are graphic.

Respect these men so much I'm without words. We visited Gettysburg and did the tour. This movie brought this visit to life.

A respectable telling of one of the most famous battles ever. Good acting and reasonably accurate within the time frame and characters. This is good, not great, but very good !

Civil war epic movie depicting the 3 day battle that changed and shaped the Civil War in America from that point forward, the Battle at Gettysburg.

Although the movie has some slow spots very interesting movie and provides a some what better understanding of the Battle of Gettysburg.

Bought this for a family member for Christmas. They love history about Gettysburg. I have not seen the movie but I was told it is good. I will be watching soon!

I am a history teacher and this is the perfect movie to show my students in connection with my Civil War unit. Price was only $3.99 too so that was a bonus!
