This is a very well done set of short movies dealing with origins of the team from Ghost in the shell. Set before Stand Alone complex but wouldn't matter if you've seen that before this.

While it's different from the original GitS, this is still a worthy successor to the original manga, movies and tv series. About the only thing I didn't like was the Major's appearance.

Redesigned, different story, but the basic premise remains the same. Starts a little... clunky... but eventually falls into place. For old fans of the Manga/Anime/Films... it's essentially a new take on the same premise, but eventually falls into its own.

A look at the beginning for Ghost in the Shell. if there is a downside Arise was made later than the original Ghost in the Shell anime and it shows otherwise it fills in the back story wonderfully

How Major Kusanagi came to join Section 9. Aramaki is young and eager, and we meet all the other players: Batou, etc. Blu-ray A/V quality is top-notch with lossless audio and 1080p video.

It's fun to see how it all started. Meeting all the characters for the first time and seeing how they all came together to form the great section 9 team. Not a bad start.

Decent prequel, only bad thing is Best Buy has such a small anime selection. They were definitely priced competitive with this title when got it, beating amazon and besting Right Stuff.

I have never seen ghost in the shell. It took me a little bit to follow but once the show kept going I understood what was going on. I'll be buying more ghost in the shell.

I viewed this as a prequel to Ghost in the Shell. As such it was interesting to see what I felt as the early years of The Major and Section 9. For me it filled in some backstory.

Got hooked on the Anime and have been waiting to find an English dubbed version - now I can watch for some of the shuttle bits more closely!!!!

As long as you have some familiarity with Ghost in the Shell, this will be extremely rewarding. Great animation, voice acting and story. Can't wait for Borders 3&4

Just picked up arise borders 1&2 and borders 3&4 justso finished arise and it's great takes place before the major and crew join section 9

Well, it's only a matter of time before old anime titles get prequels...years and years later. Still, it's a solid entry in the franchise.

An interesting take on Section 9 before they were Section 9. I think I still prefer SAC compared to this OVA, but it's still good.

I liked this because not only did it shed light on the major and the beginning or section 9, but showed more about the world and cyber tech itself.

Great series to watch! Highly Recommend to everyone that's a ghost in the shell fan or anime fan!

New story for the "Standard of the Anime History" of Ghost In The Shell series. Good story and action with new voice actors (still miss the original voice actors), but I love Ghost In The Shell Anime!!!!!

This is my all time favorite Anime franchise. I've watched every episode and movie they've made and these are among the finest

This is from what I hear a retelling of the original Ghost in the Shell classic anime movie. I love the art style, and Best Buy's price was unbeatable. I look forward to sitting down and watching it.

Great story line the cgi and video is sharp and beautiful. Just great to watch this anime I recommend this as part of your collection!
