This is pretty good film. It really stays true to the Arise series so don't expect the atmosphere from Stand Alone Complex or the original movies. Definitely worth a watch/buy especially while its on sale. blu ray, dvd, and digitial copy (UV)

I have been a fan of basically anything 'Ghost In The Shell' since it first became available in the U.S. I saw the original film when it was theatrically released. This movie is not of the same caliber, and almost not worth watching. It is indeed the weakest link in the series, and if you want a much better recent entry stick to 'Arise'. I applaud what they are trying to do (as opposed to actually doing it) by giving us back story to Maj. Kusanagi (in my opinion one of the greatest characters ever to appear on TV or in film) but it is...clumsy in its attempt. And the animation is kind of 'wonky' in spots. Not a must watch, but it does add to the overall cosmology.

This movie is a must watch for people who watched the GITS Arise series. Don't watch it unless you watched the series, otherwise you might be a bit lost. The show is finally concluded with this film. Great watch.

While the series is aging and probably not on the radar of a lot of younger anime fans, this movie sports awesome artwork and a good story that keeps up with past Ghost in the Shell levels of quality.

Fascinating reboot of the well known series offers interesting takes on all the characters and the development of the section team. Plot is still hard to follow but that comes with the territory.

I was skeptical at first after only seeing the original film but after some research and watching the other series I'm glad I did and made me appreciate and enjoy the original even more

I saw the original say about 20-years ago, and this one is as good as the original. Not sure if I going to see the live-action one, but if you love anime you have to get this movie!!! HAVE TO!!!! ;)

I recommend all the Ghost in the Shell movies to any Anime fan. The stories are always great. Although I prefer the previous one visually, they went back to the old way for this one.

The product itself seems quality, the materials used were as expected. The film however exceeded expectations given the number of films in this series, and the failure of "Arise"...

I bought this film without seeing 2nd Gig or any of the Arise episodes. I was pleasantly surprised by the story / quality. I would recommend to anyone who likes the Original.

Anime classic GHOST IN THE SHELL is a thrilling story of a cyborg who battles the Puppet Master. I'm excited to see the Scarlett Johansson version when it opens this week.

If you like the Ghost in the Shell franchise, you'll probably like this movie. The story may be difficult to follow at times, but the characters and themes are quite familiar.

If you are a fan of the Ghost in the Shell series this is a must have, set after Arise and before the first season of the original series. Good script and good dub.

Took advantage of deals for this series when the movie was making waves. Price was fair. Of course now it’s available to stream most places. Aw well.

Simply put, Ghost in the Shell: The New Movie doesn't have a great name but it's a great movie. Top notch animation and an equally awesome story. A+
