I bought this edition cause I wanted the extra goodies like everyone else, played the game for a bit and I'm loving it... But I wondering what happen to my case. Like bro, I didn't paid for the item to come to me looking like this. I would've just bought the standard edition if I knew it was gonna come like this cause at least those cases are easily replaceable

To say Ghost of Tsushima is best game on PS4 is an understatement. I still haven't finished playing it, even though I have played it for over 40 hours. I have always loved old Samurai movies since my childhood. Akira Kurosawa is by far my favorite movie director. So yes maybe I am biased while reviewing this game... Because I have been waiting for a Samurai game as this since Bushido Blade. Visually, this is not the most realistic looking game, but it takes up the beauty level that was already high because of Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild and Horizon Zero Dawn. Wind guides you to your objects, since the game keeps heads up display minimalistic to keep immersion high. Leaves on the trees and grass move realistically with the wind. Sun rises and falls in the most beautiful effects of day passage I have yet witnessed in a game. World lighting is dynamic, so trees and structures cast realistic shadows depending on the direction of Sun or Moonlight. As a huge bonus to a fan of Kurosawa, there is a Kurosawa mode that transforms the entire game (even the menus) into a glorious black and white grainy experience, so it truly feels you are playing a well filmed 50s Japanese movie! Gameplay takes the excellent combat from god of war on ps4 to new levels. Katana duels are tense where precision is a must. You can dodge, or block incoming attacks, use heavy or light attacks. Hit effects are gory and exhibit plenty of blood. Blood and difficulty can be adjusted if too gory or hard to play. Every battle against enemies feel unique and new, since each enemy will always a different approach to attacking you, keeping battles always new and interesting even after dozens of hours playing. Given the nature of gameplay choices, if open battle is not your way of fighting, you can choose to be sneaky and ninja, defeating enemies with stealth/acrobatic moves. There are optional progression points you can unlock to better mold your character into the open battle Samurai style, or stealthy ninja. The game is an open world approximation of Tsushima island in Japan. You can horse ride to any place you want in the island. Points of interest are displayed/unlocked based on conversations with locals of the island or interacting with animals that will show hidden areas. The world is big and beautiful, evoking an expansion of the style of curiosity led exploration I last had with Breath of the Wild, but now even more beautiful and realistic. The game story is very well written, and has more plot twists I could image it would. Voice acting is phenomenal all languages I heard it so far (English, Japanese and Portuguese). There are main story missions to progress the main story. But there are several more optional tale/quests similar to Horizon Zero Dawn, that make exploration and progression even more addicting and fun. They are all very original and well written. Finally, the sound... this is another big surprise. I highly recommend playing this game with a surround sound system, or 3D enabled headphones (such as the Playstation Gold headset). The 3D audio in this game is the best I have heard. The wind, leaves and branches creaking, make you feel as if you are in a forest. Enemies shouting around you can easily be pin pointed due to the precision of the audio rendering. I haven't heard such amazing rendering even in bluray movies. If you liked Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild, Horizon Zero Dawn, god of War, or any Samurai movie, then this game is a must buy. Even just on gameplay and technology merits, this is the best game on PS4. And best very likely, the best game of this generation.

Great game, graphics, mechanics, especially if you like the recent RPG-lite Assassin's Creed games. A couple of thoughts after playing to Platinum trophy though. First, AI is not the best and is easy to confuse if you run away from battles etc.., almost feels like cheating a little bit in that case as it's too easy to come back in and reset a fight. Also after the first third to half of the game, on regular difficulty the game becomes too easy. Still fun, and you feel powerful, but it's not a challenge to go in and fight an entire camp of bad guys and easily win. This also makes the game a little monotonous sometimes, but the story is good and the game has a great focus on story (not as good as TLOU2, but I digress). Great game overall. Sony fans should be happy with the last couple of great exclusives back to back!

Ghost of Tsushima is definitely one of the best games of the year. It has beautiful graphics, as well as a good story and amazing gameplay. The swordplay in the game is definitely one of the better combat systems in an action game, as it allows you to flawlessly switch between four different stances in the middle of fighting. You can do most things in the game in either a stealthy manner or straight up honorable face-to-face combat. The open world is also breathtaking to explore and one of the greatest open worlds, as you can use almost any discoveries you find as fast travel points. The steelbook that came with the Special Edition is good, but not great. I feel like they could have did a different design to make it truly spectacular.

    A Fun Samurai Experience

Ghost of Tsushima is a very fun samurai game that places you in the shoes of Jin Sakai, the lone survivor of a clash with Mongol invaders. With Jin, you play through a journey to rescue his captured uncle, free your homeland from the Mongols, and evolve from a traditional samurai to the legendary "Ghost", a Batman-esque hero willing to use what samurai would deem "dishonorable" tactics and unorthodox methods to protect the innocent. The base story of the game is a lot of fun. You will grow very attached to Jin and his allies as you work to retake Tsushima from the Mongols. The story also includes many interesting twists and truly feels like a love letter to samurai cinema and the works of Akira Kurosawa. Combat is engaging and as you level-up you gain different stances which allow you to more efficiently defeat different enemy types and you also acquire new tools and moves that keep gameplay fresh. The only downside of this game would be from a completionist angle. While going through the game's side missions and side activities, the game design choices start to feel very repetitive and it can sometimes feel like you are repeating the same reskinned missions and activities ad infinitum. This was very surprising to me considering that this game was developed by the same studio that created Sly Cooper, a franchise packed with unique missions. I would recommend just sticking with the core content of this game and only doing side activities as you see fit given that the rewards for doing so are fairly meager. Overall, this game was a fun experience and you will definitely get your moneys worth by playing through the main story and dabbling in the occasional side missions and activities.

An incredibly polished romp in feudal Japan

Do you like the older style Assassin’s Creed games? What about Breath of The Wild? You’ll probably enjoy it if the answer to both of those was yes. If you like samurai or feudal Japan too, this jumps up into must play territory. It combines an open world with the feel of BotW with gameplay reminiscent of Assassin’s Creed—though samurai combat is deeper and more reminiscent of Bloodborne (not as difficult however). The stealth combat is more akin to typical third person stealth games—a recent example would be TLoU II, though enemy AI is not quite as smart/aware in this game. You have the option right from the start to decide whether you face enemies head on, or stealthily take them out. Don’t go into this expecting a linear hyper polished experience akin to TLoU II—this is definitely an open world game that lets you loose to explore and do side missions and a handful of story missions in whatever order you want. There’s a bit more jank, but it’s a very polished game compared to third party releases, and it’s on par with other Sony open world games (I’d argue that it exceeds Spiderman). There’s still story cutscenes, and everything is voice acted. The story just isn’t always the main focus. Something I really appreciate is how minimal they made the UI. Outside of missions and combat, the UI isn’t visible. When you set a waypoint, the wind guides your way, which is a very clever way to avoid a compass or mini map. You can follow the subtle breeze until you reach your objective, or you can swipe up to make a more apparent gust blow (which does bring up UI elements). They also have golden birds that fly around to point you towards various points of interest. This game is incredibly beautiful. I’m playing this on an OLED with a PS4 Pro, but it should still look stunning on any TV with HDR. There’s a lot of moments in the game where your screen is flooded with vibrant colors and stunning scenery. It’s not the most advanced graphically on a technical level, but what they accomplished via art direction is stunning. If you enjoy taking screenshots, I guarantee you’ll be spending lots if time in photo mode. This is definitely a great way to send off the PS4. It’s probably the best game Sucker Punch has developed, incredibly beautiful, and has a lot of content that will last you a while (if you choose to delve into the side content). I think it’s a must play for all PS4 owners.

While I haven't beaten the game yet, it is incredibly fun to play and looks absolutely gorgeous. It's always amazing to see what can be done near the end of a console's life cycle. Combat is very fun and engaging and the world makes you want to explore. It's super immersive as well and the story so far is good. Definitely recommend getting it if you like assassin's creed style games.

With new IPs you always wonder exactly what you're getting into with story, characters, gameplay, and many other aspects that make up a current generation game. Release trailers often cover the biggest of those categories, giving you enough information to help you decide if this is a journey you want to go on. What you don't see in those trailers are the subtle bits of genius in games like this. Every aspect of mechanics and gameplay fit the world and story so well in this game. There isn't a compass or quest tracking arrow, the wind guides you in the right direction. You don't hunt for "collectibles" you are finding artifacts and staying true to Japanese legend and lore. You aren't "levelling up" you are gaining new skills, or building character by reciting haiku. This may be an open world game but it doesn't feel repetitive or scripted. Your encounters with the Mongolians are organic and help build the world you explore. On top of that is a heroic, heartwrenching story about a man grappling honour and respect with compassion and loyalty. It is an authentic exploration of Bushido in principle and discipline. Also, you get to pet foxes ;)

I had high expectations for this game ever since it was first announced, and it did not disappoint. Easily one of the most beautiful games for the PS4 and so much content. It will keep you entertained for hours. There’s 40 different biomes that span across 3 regions for the island of Tsushima, and from the 24 main missions (3 acts), the 61 side missions (Tales of Tsushima), and the 7 mythic tales, plus the collectible content, you’ll be occupied for hours upon hours. The photo mode that’s included will keep you busy as well taking numerous photos of this beautiful world. If I HAD to pick some complaints, I’d say the facial animations for the characters aren’t that great, and there’s no New Game +, but that may come later down the road. Sucker Punch started the PS4 exclusives generation with a great game (Infamous Second Son) and ended it with a great game. I hope you purchase this game and experience all this and more for yourself, you will not be disappointed and you’ll hate it when the journey is over. Luckily we can all just play it all I ver again. Enjoy! :)

I liked this game much more than I anticipated. The graphics are amazing, I am constantly marveling at the fact this can run on an original PS4. The story is good but nothing extraordinary. The conflict the main character faces is intriguing but I believe it could have played a bigger role throughout the game. Combat is fast, responsive, and diverse. Between assassinations, standoffs, archery and more it is always enough to stay interesting. The best thing about Ghost of Tsushima is the way they incorporated nature as a way to guide the player. Foxes lead you to shrines, yellow birds guide you to unseen places, the wind guides you to you next destination. The use of a guiding wind is a much welcome change from the traditional arrows. Overall, this is an excellent game for anyone who love exploration and action games. On a side note; the information given about the Mongols through artifacts is interesting and historically accurate and kept my exploring for hours to find them all.

This game gets a lot of things right when it comes to the open-world genre. Exploring is encouraged, navigation is combined seamlessly with the environment, and the world is gorgeous. You are free to roam around and find new interesting places around the island. All while saving villagers and liberating areas that have been overrun. The combat is rewarding and with Jin's skill tree you are able to create a build for your character that compliments your play style. The story is engaging and there are more than enough side-quests and side storylines to give you tens of hours of extra content. I cannot say enough good things about this game. I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys story-based, open-world games.

After spending around 75 hours on the game (both story mode and multiplayer) and platinuming the game I can say this is definitely a GOTY contender. The massive open world and nice combat flow with each other and makes you FEEL like a samurai turned assassin. The story is also really good and kept me invested during my playthrough. The multiplayer is really fun and reminds me a lot of zombies from call of duty and destiny battles. It’s very fun and never feels like a chore to grind. Overall I’d say this is in my Top 3 favorite games of all time (along with PREY 2017 and Persona 5). Final Rating: 10/10

I have been calling this game Breath of the Wild Samurai edition. The map is way bigger than i thought and the vistas are breath taking. For those who are into photography the photo mode is tons of options. Lots to see, plenty of side missions, customization options, collectibles, and hidden goodie. Combat in this game is my highlight, extremely satisfying, makes you feel like an actual samurai or total ronin swordmaster, with stance changes and gadgets are your disposal. Playing the game on hard from the outset is well worth it if youre looking for some adrenaline.

As far as a review of the game goes, it is an absolute blast and one of the best looking games I have ever played. Fun mechanics and skill tree point system with rewardings skills. Story is engaging so far and the combat feels nice and is really fun taking out enemies as a powerful Samurai. As far as the steelbook and product itself it is a nice sleek black steelbook with gold text and a cardboard slipcase. Really nice looking and worth every cent. If you are thinking of getting this, think no more and just get it.

This game looks and plays great, it’s open world that lets you explore the entire island of Tsushima as you build up your samurai and ghost legends. The combat fighting swordplay is genius, you have 4 or 5 fighting stances you can unlock to combat different enemies (shields, spears etc) along with your hand thrown weapons as well. You can play as a samurai (honorable play) or ghost (ninja like tactics), you play as both as you progress thru the storyline which is very immersive that will keep you playing nonstop.

This game!!! So great right from the start! Love this game so much! I haven’t played any of the DLC but the base game alone is amazing. Gameplay is satisfying and the world is beautiful. I wish there was more interaction with the characters because they are just so engaging. Great story, great environments, engaging characters. The only thing I would say is- more story! I would love to have more DLC or a second game!

There are two types of people who survived 2020 and owned a PlayStation: 1) those who think TLoU2 deserved to win GOTY and 2) those who believe Ghost of Tsushima deserved it more. I won't weigh in on that debate as I believe both titles to be masterpieces from a mechanical standpoint. But what I will say is that Ghost of Tsushima alleviated my depression instead of piling onto it. And in 2020, THAT was quite the feat. There are some minor issues overall - some clipping on the protagonist's outfits, some unsynchronized animations, some barebones combat until enough upgrades are earned...also the opening tutorial drags on for quite some time and introduces mechanics in ways that are quite cliched for the genre. None of these flaws stuck with me for long, mostly due to the awe-inspiring presentation of the open world. This game looks and feels more Next Gen than almost every PS5 launch title (perhaps with the exception of Demon's Souls). Ghost of Tsushima is possibly the most beautiful game I have ever played in terms of sheer spectacle. No other game has made such extraordinary use of colors and lighting. The night, day, and weather cycle and the vast amount of change this provides to the look and feel of the world is unparalleled by any other open-world experience. Its unique aesthetic is masterfully presented. The fact that the developers added a free multiplayer mode - that is pure quality as well - for FREE makes this title even more of a complete package that can provide easily over 100 hours of content.
