4.5 Stars really. I have owned a big pile of laptops of the last eleven years. This model seems to the apex of everything I expect from a laptop. Even though it's designed for gaming, I use it mainly for video editing. The 4k Pantone calibrated display was the number one attraction to me. It's really beautiful. Dell and Apple have chosen to go with USB-C ports only on their laptops and that means you need a crapload of dongles for attaching HDMI cables or regular USB cables to your machine. The Gigabyte laptop has full sized USB3.1 ports, full sized Ethernet, HDMI, mini-display Port, and USB-C as well. This saves me a lot of plastic in my computer bag. It has enough power for most tasks, and remains lightweight and portable despite how much of a punch it's packing. I love that it has a fingerprint scanner for unlocking. The lighted keyboard is bright and the keys feel good to type on. The keyboard isn't mechanical, but it has a distinctive click even though it's quiet. My half-star deduction is for three minor things. The integrated webcam is located below the monitor, looking slightly up. If you are using this laptop on an elevated laptop stand, this is fine, but if you are using it on a flat surface it looks up at you at an angle. The bluetooth range is less than my 10 year old Dell computer. (Admittedly, that thing weighs double and had a much larger power suck). Still, I'd like to be able to get up and get a drink without it starting to cut out. The fans are quiet even when I'm at full load rendering video, and there is an extra NVME SSD slot to expand storage. It's a beautiful machine, truly the best balance of power and portability.
