These were given to me as a gift, as I needed a cheap replacement for my otherwise cheap original equipment headset. My daughter had taken a liking to my headsets, especially the foam mic/ear covers. This headset was nice that it did not have any easily detachable pieces, although the in-ear earbud can be removed/replaced with 3 different size buds (which come with the set). Comfort: The set comes with 3 different size ear buds, so I would think you'd be able to find one that is at least close to comfortable inside your ear. The "hook" that goes over the top of your ear, however, does not bend/conform to your ear, so it fits however it fits and there is no changing that. It fits poorly on my ear, meaning the only thing really securing the headset to my ear is the in-ear ear bud #which is less than comfortable#. Mic/Sound: While no game sounds come through the headset, chat sound is about as good as a really cheap pair of headsets...poor. The mic itself comes to about your cheekbone in some sort of 1980's futuristic way. Other players in chat have a very hard time understanding me, if they can even hear me at all. I've tried numerous "positions" for the mic, but placement is difficult given the severe limitations in being able to secure the entire headset to your head/ear. I do a TON of repeating myself when i use this headset...which is annoying to me and my teammates. Other cheapness which adds to chat fail: The on-cord volume/mute switch is of extremely poor quality. IIRC there is not even an indicator as to which position is MUTE/UNMUTE or vol +/- . It turns out the MUTE position is when the selector switch is clicked "open" to reveal a green sticker. Choosing green as your indicator color for MUTE is questionable, at best. Add to that the switch fits so poorly that there is always a slight gap, showing just a hair of green...add to that there are no other indicators to inform you of whether or not you are/aren't muted...add to that the volume dial not having a +/- indicator of any sort...add to that the mic barely works so you're not sure if it's the mic, your buddy's mic, the mute, the volume, or any combination of them and you begin to really see how these fail on so, so many levels. They are currently listed at about $20. You can't expect much for that. However, you should expect that something at least work on the most basic of levels. There are other $20 headsets that work A LOT better than these. If you need a quick fix becuase your kid/dog/wife/leprechaun destroyed your headset, just buy the version that comes with the xbox #foam pads and all# until you can afford/are willing to spend better money on a better set. Don't buy these, ever...and return them if they were gifted to you.

This headset does suck. It really does. But all of the people on here are blowing it out of proportion. People are saying that the bar behind your ear isn't maneuverable and bendable; it is, you just have to bend it as if you wanted it farther than it is, and it will stay where you wanted it. The headset is really very comfortable, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have its fair share of problems. The volume works fine, you can tell if you're turning it up or down as long as it's in your ear. The mute works fine, even if it is a bit backward, as in you are muted when the color green is showing. The only REAL problem is that the Mic doesn't pick up ANYTHING unless you yell. I used this mic for about 20 mins, and I had to shout. Still, never buy it.

I purchased these thinking "oh cool, a cool headset for $20." Man was I wrong! These thing are as cheap as they come, the mic hardly works, if at all! I have to take the headset out of my ear and speak directly into the mic for it to ever pic anything up. Just don't buy these! Spend the extra $40 and get a better set that includes in game sound!
