Great follow up to the 2018 game, which I would heavily recommend playing first. I have my game set to graphics mode with the framerate unlocked. Performance and graphics while playing are both fantastic. The story and lore that you pick up along the way have a great way of pulling you in. These are the factors that I am basing my rating off of. The only issue I have is that the game causes the console to randomly shut off due to overheating. I have had my console since launch so there is likely some buildup of dust etc. I have cleaned my PS5 and still have the same issue though. Perhaps I need to do a deep clean and open it up further, but I don't this most folks are going to want to go through the trouble. I'm guessing those with newer consoles may experience this less, or not at all. This is while playing the PS5 version, so I can't speak in regards to playing the PS4 version.

Buy, buy, buy. This game is worth a hundred bucks even. There is so much. It's gaming heaven. There's so much to see and experience. Combat, upgrades, puzzles, hidden areas. You won't be able to put the controller down. I've played since PS1. I've loved every game. I keep having to stop and look around and I'm just blown away. Please don't starve yourself from this experience.

Excellent, excellent, excellent game and follow up to God of War from the PS4. I've been sucked back into the 9 realms and have put over 55 hours into the game trying to reach the platinum trophy. You will play as Kratos most of the time, but maybe 30% of the time as Atreus/Loki. The game is sprawlingly large. Load times are nearly instantaneous. The conversations to be had between Kratos/Mormir/and others are top notch, even when you are just traveling the realm. The game has plenty of optional things to do, but the reward for taking the extra time to explore is better gear / xp to level abilities / horns to increase the rage meter / apples to increase the life meter. The game is rated M, and has the occasional F bomb. Other than that, I love the story and character building. This is a must own for the PS5.

The writing and story are amazing. The voice acting really sells the characters (especially..oh said no spoliers). Combat is challenging and can lose any battle. Only 2nd game ever 100% ( platinum). Well worth it.

"God of War Ragnarök" is a phenomenal sequel that surpasses its predecessor in every way imaginable, delivering an unforgettable gaming experience that cements its place as a masterpiece in storytelling, gameplay, and visual artistry.

Story is amazing! Christopher Judge’s performance is amazing, everyone’s is too. Graphics are great, music is great, pacing is great (except Ironwood) and is visually stunning!

My favorite God of War game in the entire franchise and one of my favorite action-adventure games of all time. Great cinematic story-telling, fun gameplay and exploration with some flaws(tedious traversal of certain sections), fantastic performances by the voice actors, and an all around great experience. Has reinvigorated my interest in Norse mythology. Highly recommend, especially if you have a Playstation 5!

Awesome Game its probably the best GoW yet if that's possible. PS5 Graphics blow me away every time i turn it on. This Game has so much to it im not even sure where to start, I Love the story arc, it keeps you wanting for more and keeps you captivated to the very end. And the controls are easy to master or at least figure them out . Different characters bring different elements to the Game and each fighr style has its own unique twist.

Been a huge God of war fan sjnce the first one came out in 2005 on the playstation 2. Ive enjoyed Kratos's journey of vengeance, and finally a father again. Ragnarok is an emotionally charged journey with some beautiful over the top, well thought out moments. A testament to Santa Monica studios and thier amazing attention to detail. If it jad come out any other year than the year From Software's juggernaut Elden Ring alhad releases , G.o.w. Ragnarok would have won game of the year.

Outstanding achievement of a game. I’m honestly a better person now because of playing this game. I was mostly concerned about the tweaks to the gameplay, but the combat loop, personalization of gear, stats, and weapons are astounding! The game is also made better if you’ve played the series before the 2018 reboot. Hell, even the casting of new characters were spot-on, well-written, and well-acted. This is a must-play of the highest order. I cannot wait for New Game+!

This game has amazing combat and story. The devs did listen to what people wanted from the previous God of War game and implemented it in this one. I like that this game feels like it only improves on what they have done in 2018. More enemy variety, less recycled bosses and more boss encounters, to only name a few of many. There are a couple of issues that pop up every now and then. One where the camera is too close to main character and its hard to see when off screen attacks are coming. It can be frustrating at times dying to this (playing on hardest difficulty). Another issue I encountered is where a "prompt" did not appear during some sections of the game that did not allow me to progress. This issue can be solved by loading a previous save state and only takes away a couple minutes of gameplay. Even with these issues that I have encountered, it does not keep this from me believing this is a 5-star game. All the options for accessibility that the devs put into this is pretty awesome as well. Just by doing this, you can tell they wanted to make this game playable to as many people as possible.

I have played god of war since the original greek trilogy back in 2005 and i have to admit, despite the fact that they diverged off from the original games in play style, the norse saga still has some of the most high quality game mechanics, graphics, and the best story. Its filled with plot twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the end. This game is a masterpiece and i look forward to the next chapter in its series.

This game is absolutely incredible. The story in the first game and its delivery was pretty much unparraled when it released and this the same but better. Gameplay-wise not much has changed since the first installment(which isn't a bad thing) but everything that was set up in the previous game is now simply taken up to PS5 standards. This series is really what most games should strive to be, games just don't get much better.

First impression: I want to talk about a trend that seems disturbingly commonplace …rushed games. From the moment I started playing, I noticed tons of bugs. Since day one we’ve had 4 or 5 updates. On one hand it’s great that fixes were made so quickly, but on the other why did Sony release it knowing there were multiple bugs. Something about being sold a buggy product and being charged $70 isn’t sitting well with me. As for the actual review of the game, I’ll make it short and sweet. The game is beautiful, the production is top notch and the story is great. I’ve noticed lots of people bringing up the difficulty. To those people I say to learn when to doge and time your block. Smash and look for anything breakable, find all the chests and do the side missions as soon as they’re available. This will insure your HP is at its highest for skill upgrades, you have plenty of items to use and sell for armor and weapon upgrades and most of all make it easier on you when fighting boss characters.

A worthy sequel! They managed to maintain a strong storytelling along with new characters, new mechanics and more. Santa Monica studios was also prompt and consistent with their updates to further make the gameplay smoother than it already is. Regarding my copy, it was in perfect condition. Overall, I'm excited to see what's next for this franchise.

Been playing since the beginning. This was awesome! The story kept me intrigued through the whole game. I want it to end. I do wish the end of the game was a little longer. I would have really loved to had explored Asgard more. The final boss battles with Thor and Odin could've been a bit longer as well. But overall great game and great ending to the Norse Saga.

Not only a graphical showcase for the PlayStation 5, but Ragnarok also has an incredible story and gameplay to match. The branching story will keep you coming back for more, and the gameplay will both test and reward you.

A masterpiece. They have done what seemed impossible, improve the reboot they did with the previous one. The story is fast-paced, the combat is fun and varied, and there is a huge variety of enemies and bosses

The wizards at Sony Santa Monica Studios have done it again. A complete continuation of GofW 2018, it picks up right where the last game left off. Visuals, soundtrack, story...everything that makes a God of War game perfection. Even if you dodnt play the last game, it has a synopsis to watch so you can catch up to the story and play the game. You will definitely enjoy the game.
