First and foremost, I enjoyed the movie. As the movie progresses lots of things unfold and certainly makes your perspectives of the characters evolve as well. I didn't read the book and had no idea what the movie was about other then a man's wife has gone missing. The plot twists had me saying to myself this is some crazy stuff! That said I gave this four stars out of five, because I felt there were some plot holes that were a bit rushed through as the movie progresses. I'm sure the book had a bit more detail. Overall though, definitely a movie worth seeing if you're about watching all the twists and turns unfold!

So, this movie was pretty intense. I saw it in theaters on the premise that David Fincher had a hand in it- it was NOT disappointing. Ben Affleck does desperate pretty well, and the way the film explores human nature (that is, specifically, the way we understand things at face value) is disturbing, but simultaneously intriguing. I promise that, with even the slightest sense of empathy, you cannot watch this movie without rethinking your view of the people that surround you.

I saw this in theaters and I was on the edge of my seat thinking to myself the entire time if he really did it? It had been such a long time since i was so invested in a film. The actors were amazing and fun to watch perform their craft on screen. The blu-ray is exceptional. Quality is fantastic looks even better at home i think. The packaging is also very fun. The cases for blu-rays nowadays are getting more artsy and this is no exception. Great addition to your movie collection.

This movie is a surprisingly rich look into a relationship that has fallen apart. And there would be plenty of material here to mine for special features, but the disc only includes an audio commentary and a children's book (it makes sense if you've seen the movie). But while I would have loved to see a packed special edition, the amount of thought and insight present in the two features here helped me to come to appreciate the movie even more. This is well worth picking up.

Because the movie reveals the truth about the plot early on, the scariest part about this is the realization that your life is probably filled with people like this. You start looking at every couple/family you know and wondering what they are hiding. The story is creative and original and the acting and editing are perfection. It's creepy. I won't lie. But it's incredibly well done. Your life will not be the same after watching this movie.

Movie was pretty close to the book. It kept me on the edge of my seat even though I had read the book and knew what was going to happen. Ben Affleck was crazy good and Rosamund Pike was one scary b****. I have a waiting list of my friends who want to borrow the movie. We all read the book. I did not want to watch it with my friends because I did not want to be distracted during the movie. It was that good. Did not want to miss any clues. Very entertaining.

If you haven't read the novel, don't worry about it,with a few tiny details the plot and ending are all the same from the book...This is one twisted movie,not as dark as you might think,little bit of blood here and there so if you're squeamish about that I'd avoid this movie, lots of twists and turns and you're never sure where it's gonna end up, and man what an ending!! It left many steaming mad but I thought it was fitting.See this movie,it is awesome!!

Read the book about a year before watching the movie so knew the overall story reasonably well. Screenplay was penned by the book author, by the way, so clearly this was going to stay true to the source material. Overall enjoyed the movie. God quality video and audio, although 7.1 mix is a little overkill on a dialogue driven film. Regardless happy with the purchase. Liked the "Amazing Amy" storybook that came packaged with the blu-day.

With adaptations, people say the book is better than the movie. That's almost always true, but in this case each stands strongly on its own! Gillian Flynn deftly adapts her own novel while David Fincher's direction matches the tone of the book, but it's Rosamund Pike's titular performance that truly amazes—and rattles. I wish the Blu-ray came with special features in addition to commentary, but the clever "Amazing Amy" tie-in might make up for it!

Now this is a movie that keeps you on your toes but just wow cause there are actually people who have such a warped mind and act out their thoughts that affect so many others. This was a wow movie and just something worth watching if you haven't already.

This is an excellent package for David Fincher's Gone Girl. The blu-ray looked great and the included small book was a really cool addition, in keeping with previous Fincher movie releases. The inclusion of a digital code was also a really nice bonus.

There's not much I can say about Gone Girl without spoiling the twist, but I can say that it's an exceptionally made film that really keeps you on the edge of your seat. Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike are at the top of their game here, and even Tyler Perry was great here. It's also great that the movie isn't totally reliant on the shock of the twist, as the story continues to develop even after the fact

When you cast two gorgeous movie stars as leads, surround them with a perfect supporting cast then have them act out a story so well crafted that the twists and turns will keep you riveted throughout you have the ingredients for a smash movie. The editing, cinematography, set decoration and sound contribute to the spell binding brilliance of this modern classic. Repeated viewing only increases the enjoyment and appreciation.

Gone Girl is yet another great movie from David Fincher. It'll keep you on the edge of your seat, because you don't really know the characters very well, and they're all hiding something. Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike are great in this movie, and play a very convincing couple that used to be in love, but has since grown apart. I can't comment on how it conpares to the book (as I haven't read it), but it's a great movie.

David Fincher does not disappoint his fans... this is a smart thriller about the fact that you may not know exactly what is going on the head of your spouse, as well as a scathing satire about how media can sensationalize a news story and turn it into a 24-hour circus. The actors are great, especially Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, who are perfectly cast in their roles. There is of course a twist in the story and the film changes tone about halfway in, but the joy of this film is how it changes from a pretty standard procedural into something fresh and new.

Brilliant storytelling. Fincher is the best storyteller working today. I don’t care for Ben Afflec but he is perfectly cast in this. The twists, the turns - all brilliant. But heads up: it’s Fincher so it’s dark.

I only kinda liked this film the first time I saw it, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. My 2nd viewing made me realize that it's great. An excellent marriage of writer, director and cast. Seriously, this is Ben Affleck's best performance. Disc looks and sounds great, like all of Fincher's home video releases.

Rarely does a film manage to exceed the source material, but Gone Girl is just such a film. Fincher once again shows why he is one of the best directors working today. Every aspect of this movie is great. The acting is wonderful, with each character managing to drive the suspense, while providing moments of levity. And I don't know if there was a more beautifully shot film made in 2014. This movie cannot be recommended enough.

Plenty has been said about the movie itself, I have nothing really to add. Excellent performances all around in a well directed story. My biggest complaint is that complete and utter lack of special features. The Amazing Amy book is fun and the commentary is nice, but where's the rest? How about some behind the scenes featurettes? Deleted scenes? Very much worth a buy, but just don't expect an all-encompassing package.

While I was disappointed to find out (after I opened the package and tried it in my DVD player) that I had mistakenly bought the BlueRay version, I was still happy with the extra little Amazing Amy book they included with the DVD. For some reason, the normal big bold blue graphics notating it's BlueRay was missing from this package. Disappointing, but the movie is awesome and at least I have the digital copy for now!!
