Gone Girl is we think Ben Affleck in his best role to date. He surprises you in how he has matured into a really very good actor, since his debut in Good Will Hunting He is surrounded by a great cast, that is led by Rosamund Pike, who was great in an earlier James Bond movie. It does not hurt to have a good director and script. Another very good movie following State of Play.

This faithful film adaptation of the hugely successful novel is one of the best films of 2014. Perfect performances from Pike, Affleck, Coon and Dickens. David Fincher is the right man to direct this film, guiding the story with expert style and tension. The end result is a film that is one of the most unlikely dark-comedies in recent memory. Very dark humor and exciting drama.

This was a thrilling suspenseful movie that had me unsuccessfully guessing as to the outcome several times throughout the movie. Very well acted and directed, this flick had many turns and twists that kept me guessing throughout the film. Entertaining for viewers that like intricate well-acted thoughtful movies that are well-paced, excellent direction and intelligent scripts.

While movies generally pale in comparison to their book counterparts, this one stayed true to the important events that were critical in achieving the same level of suspense. Although there were also a few details that were left out that I felt were crucial to the character development of the female protagonist, the ending still blindsided my friends who never read the book.

"just like a woman" was added to grab your attention, but seriously, this movie is spell bounding. I thought it was about a man killing his wife, but fasten your seat belt and get ready for the ride of your life. I highly recommend adding this movie to any collection, especially if you thrive a masterful, twisted, and suspenseful written plot with superb acting.

Talk about a crazy deadly twist. Just when you think and believe you have to the story line down pack. Nope, you're wrong - try again and maybe you'll get it right. Possibly maybe, probably not. This plot doesn't disappoint and will have to re-watching the movie over and over to find the missing clues you missed the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th time you watched the movie.

I originally had little interest in seeing Gone Girl but a friend kept telling me that I had to check it out. Somewhat reluctantly I went to the theater and by the end of the film I was completely blown away. I would compare the film to the likes of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," or "Fight Club." The Blu ray has unique packaging that I have yet to see any flaws in.

There was so much conversation about this movie. Didn't read the book but all the trailers were good. I saw this movie completely blind if that is possible these days and I loved the whole thing!!! Watched it with my wife and it definitely was a conversation starter. If you haven't seen this film, you should. You will not be sorry. It was great from start to finish.

Lots of surprises in this film. Keeps you assuming things, just to twist the story around and take you in another direction. The acting is very good. I'm never ceased to be amazed by Neil Patrick Harris. I swear that guy can do anything. And he makes it look so effortless. The only weakness in the film for me was the ending. I mean, it was ok, but it didn't pack a wallop like I would've expected. The blu-ray disc is excellent, as expected. Outstanding video and audio.

Wow, Gone Girl. What exactly is there to say? This movie is excellent. I never read the book but i am sure glad i saw this movie and own this blu ray. Picked it up on sale for $14.99. Blu Ray Quality is excellent and has lots of special features. The ending you will never see coming. Thrill ride till the end. Ben Affleck does a wonderful job. Highly recommended!

I must say I really enjoyed this movie, my girlfriend even enjoyed it and these types of movies usually are not her thing. This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat and guessing through out, especially if you have not read the book. All the actors give great performances and while the movie is long at no time does it seem to drag. A must see I would say.

A shining example of what a sharp thriller should be. Based on great source material, the writer of the book also wrote one of the best screenplays that hollywood has seen in years. It is taut, economic, and efficient. Every moment pulls you forward and doesn't let go until you go to bed that night, staring your lovers face as they look back.

Loved this film, truly. Couldn't ask for a better experience as a film. The direction, acting, and story just work so well together to bring to life such an incredibly taught book. That being said, the Blu-ray release of this film is rather puny, lacking many extras one might expect from such a successful and much-hyped film. I'm bracing myself for the studio to double-dip in the near future. In the meantime, at least I have a copy of the film to enjoy at my leisure.

Entertaining and really creepy all at the same time. I'm a huge fan of Rosamond and she does an excellent job in this film.....And she looks so hot...well, except for the slasher side of her...like I'd be living under the same roof as her.... Only reason I didn't give it a 5 was I felt at times Affleck was playing himself and not a character. Although he doesn't do a terrible job, I just feel like I'm watching just another 30 days in his life.

I hated the book. David Fincher is the only reason I was compelled to watch the film. Some describe it as a preposterous thriller. Perhaps, but Fincher knows how to tell a story, even if we think we already know it. It gets dark. Everyone works well. Gilian Flynn even did her own screenply adaption. My favorite thing is the musical score. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross just delivering. Very unnerving. Regardless of what you think you know, GONE GIRL will surprise you.

This movie scared me off Rosamund Pike for a few months. Her acting was that good. I love her acting (Die Another Day, I care a lot). Ben Affleck could be replaced by any good looking guy there.

Nowadays you can stream movies on Amazon, Netflix or whatever, but you'll never hear David Fincher discuss the fine details about Gone Girl on one of those services. I got this at a sales price and the bonus commentary was worth it for me to pick this up. It also came with an Amazing Amy booklet, though I probably won't ever read it.

This is one of those movies that has it all. It's very well written, just when you think you have it all figured out.. Bam.. here comes a plot twist. Great cast. I could just go on and on, you've gotta check it out. This is one of those movies you can go ahead and buy it even if you haven't seen it yet cause it's a must have for your collection.

Gone Girl is Fincher at his finest. Not a perfect film, but a thoroughly entertaining one with plenty of twists and turns to keep you intrigued. The video and audio transfer is perfect and never let's you down. Though the commentary is insightful and often amusing, the fact that this is the only special feature is a letdown, especially for Fincher fans.

Although I am not a Ben Afleck fan, this is a really good way to spend an evening. Very good story, kept me guessing till the end, and I was still wrong. My only complaint was the sound levels on the dialog. I had to turn it up very high to hear it. Seems that the background music is so high these days that vocal is really depressed on the soundtrack.
