Google nest is the worst camera i ever have. The original Nest is the best. It always disconnected from Wifi and takes awhile to reconnect. Do not waste your money guys

App is horrible! What happen to Nest App?? The google home app is so unstable and not clean like the Nest app. Why cant I see cameras on my computer as well??

The new Nest cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Home app, but you can view both your old and new Nest Cams together in the Home app. We’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy having the option to view their Nest camera feeds from the web, and we are working on adding this experience. However, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. Our team is also working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras and previous Nest devices can be set up and can have full control in one app.

Not better than a $35 Wyze V3 cam. The nest cam is horrible recording events in the dark. How is google thinking a 1080p camera is worth this much?? Dont count on this camera recording evets at night in low light

I bought a few of these as I wanted to add some more cameras around my property and my first generation cameras will need to be replaced eventually. I was okay with using the Home app. However, after buying a outdoor power cord I discovered that even though this allows 24/7 recording you can't save the video. The first generation cameras allowed you to create your own clip. These cameras only allow you to save an "Event" clip. So if something happens outside of the detected event there is no way to save the video and it will be gone after 10 days. For me this original feature was what caused me to go all google. Now that this feature no longer exist, once my current cameras die I'll be switching to another system. I did ask Google about this feature and they said they have no idea if this feature will ever come back. I really liked the cameras but (for me) without the ability to save my own clips these cameras are just like any other cameras. Except they cost way more. I'll keep an eye out if this feature is added back but I doubt it will be back.

We’re continuing to support the Nest app and the Nest cameras, as well as to deliver critical security updates and software fixes and owners like you shouldn’t notice any difference with your service. Google commits to bring users the same feature and software support you’ve always had. However, we made the difficult decision to stop support for Nest Secure and Dropcam starting April 8, 2024. We will also officially end Works with Nest as of September 29, 2023. These cameras are horrible with the google home app, I wish there was a zero star.

activity zones do not work. support is horrible to deal with. not sure i could recommend these cameras to anyone anymore.

Here are some recommended steps you can try out with the issue: - Check the size of your Activity Zone. A big Activity Zone captures more activity. If your zone is too large, objects that don’t seem in the zone can trigger an in-zone recording or notification. In general, the smaller and more precise the Activity Zone, the more accurate your camera’s alerts should be. - Avoid overlapping Activity Zones. If you overlap 2 or more Activity Zones, you only receive a notification for the Activity Zone where the activity first occurred. If the activity actually happened in 2 or more Activity Zones at the same time, you only get a notification for one of the Activity Zones.
