We understand that you have enjoyed using the Nest app with your Nest cameras. However, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. We wanted to make the Google Home app as the one place you can control all your favorite Nest and other smart home devices with the Google Assistant. Here are some benefits you can get by using the Google Home app with your Nest Cam (Battery):
- Automatic security protections, such as Suspicious activity detection, 2-Step Verification and Security Checkup.
- Your Google Nest devices and services will work together. For example, if you have a Nest Cam and a Nest Hub, just say, ""Hey Google, show me the backyard camera” to cast your camera stream to your display without any additional setup.
- One account to sign in to both the Nest and Google Home apps.
- Your homes, and home members will be aligned across the Nest and Google Home apps.

You can use the Nest Cam weatherproof cables (sold separately) which are available in 5m and 10m if you want to plug your camera into an outlet for continuous power. Please note that the power adapter included with the Nest Cam (battery) is not weatherproof and not intended for outdoor use and you can use a compatible weatherproof cable.

Change video quality settings:
1. Open the Home app.
2. Tap and hold your device's tile.
3. At the top right, tap Settings.
4. Choose Video.
5. Under “Video quality,” choose Max or High. High settings use less bandwidth. Max settings use more bandwidth.

Vulnerable to Wifi manipulation, but you gotta be near by to do that. probably get a glimpse before such a sofisticated theif actually knocks your wifi offline.

1. Check your camera’s distance to the router: Your camera may be out of range or it may be too close to the router.
2. Restart your camera: When you restart your camera, it will refresh its connection. Instructions depend on what kind of device you have.
3. Restart your router: When you restart your router and modem, it will reset your internet connection.
4. Check the settings on your Wi-Fi router or access point: In some cases, settings on your router or access point could cause a problem with the connection. High firewall security or parental controls can block new devices from connecting to your Wi-FI network

Posted .Hey there, UlyssesD. We’re sorry to hear you’re having to charge the Nest Cam (Battery) so often. The battery life will depend on factors including activity, temperature, and selected camera settings. On average here’s how long the battery will last on a single charge:
Busy - About 1 month battery life (about 25 - 30 recorded events per day)
Typical - About 2.5 months battery life (about 13 - 16 recorded events per day)
Quiet - About 6 months battery life (about 2 - 5 recorded events per day)
Here’s a few tips to conserve battery:
1. Optimize its video quality.
2. Shorten the length of time for which events are recorded.
3. Take longer to begin recording between events.

It also is capable of seeing in low light enviornments. It learns faces and notifies you when they are spotted. Very nice addition to my security system!
