Worthless junk- it does not integrate to the exiting Nest platform. Don’t waste your time and money on this poorly designed product.
Hi Chris, thanks for your review about the Nest Cam (Battery). New Nest cameras and doorbells are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Users with older cameras can view their camera feeds in the Google Home app alongside the new Nest Doorbell and Nest Cams. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place. Also, using the Google Home app provides you with a lot of benefits including access to Google's trusted security platform and access to other Google tools and with seamless integration with other Google devices.
Hello there, Taher. Thanks for sharing your experience with using the Nest Cam (battery), and we’re sorry to hear that your expectations are not met.
A range issue or wireless interference can affect the overall performance of your doorbell. Sometimes it may pass the connection test during setup, but will struggle to stay connected if it’s just a bit too far away. You may also check for objects such as mirrors and refrigerators between the doorbell and your router as these items could block the connection. Easy-to-use and set up. Battery last about 3 weeks on a busy area. Easy to mount and unmount

Hi DonH, thanks for sharing your experience with our support team. We're sorry to hear about the negative experience with the installation for your Nest Cam (Battery).
Hi whiskeeze, thanks for posting a review. We’re sorry to learn that you find the Google Home app not user-friendly, and we understand your decision to return your Nest Cam.
We’re aware that longtime Nest users enjoy viewing their Nest camera feeds from the Nest app, however, our priority with this launch was building a complete experience for our new cameras and doorbell in the Google Home app. Our teams are working on enabling the ability to setup and control older Nest cameras in the Home app so users will have one app to control all of their devices, and we’re working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with other Nest and smart home devices.
Hi Waugh898, thanks for giving us time to share your review about the Nest Cam (battery), and we're sorry to hear no one got a hold of you to install them. We designed the new Nest cameras with ease of setup and installation, and the Google Home app will walk you through detailed instructions. It's important to connect your camera to the app before you install or mount it. You need to scan the code on your camera to connect it to the app. If you’d like to try, you’ll find the set up guide here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9293657
A truly wireless indoor/outdoor HD security camera

The new Google Nest security camera is a truly wireless Wifi camera with excellent HD picture quality in day or night. I’ve had the original wired version installed as a front door cam for years and am pretty excited to add a 2nd camera to the ecosystem. It has a few upgrades over the older version, such as a rechargeable long-life battery, better broadcast sound, and some pretty fancy features like people, animal, vehicle, motion, and even familiar face detection. You can adjust how sensitive the motion sensing is, and of course you can create zones for it to focus on or ignore. I use mine as an auxiliary camera that I move around the house depending on the need. It comes with a magnetic wall mount that’s very sturdy and holds the camera solid. I set that up high over the garage to look over the driveway, but I love that I can just pull the camera off the magnetic base and move it to another base mounted in the backyard. There’s even a stand option so you can put the camera on a table top or shelf. Indoors, the battery life is spectacular. It only captures footage of events, so the camera saves energy on not recording everything and can supposedly go almost a whole year on a single charge. I doubt that, but it really depends on how frequently the camera detects an event and turns on. I’m sure cold weather plays a part too (batteries in general hate cold), but it’s been about a week and I’m still at 93% battery life, which is outstanding. If I have to recharge it every month or 2, fine… it’s really not that hard or inconvenient. Plus, there’s an optional 30’ power cable available that enables you to plug it in and never have to worry about charging it again. The only thing I don’t like is that it doesn’t work with the Nest app, which I prefer for camera viewing over the Google Home app. It’s a small detail, but I guess I’m more worried if that means they’re going to stop supporting the Nest app. On the bright side, it integrates well with Google Home, which is handy because I have a bunch of peripherals that already use it. One other major upgrade over the original is that it comes with 3 hours of free event activity videos. Meaning… it’ll let you access footage within the past 3 hours for free, no subscription needed. Which is awesome, because the original came with none. Get the subscription though, and the whole Nest ecosystem is fantastic, with up to 10 days of 24/7 video history on the plus plan.
Overall, I love the portability of this camera. The wifi range is strong enough to mount it just about anywhere in a single house, and the battery life should be able to go months at a time without a recharge. The speaker is a nice improvement over the original as well, with much louder sound and less static. If you’re looking for a truly portable wireless security camera, you should definitely check out the new Google Nest Security Camera
