This is a nice upgrade from the original Nest camera I had. Small and compact, well designed with a very nice quality video feed. Definitely an upgraded improvement over previous generation.

This camera is super awesome! The video quality is crystal clear—day or night—and the motion alerts are spot on. I love being able to check in from my phone anytime; it gives me total peace of mind whether I’m at work or on the go. The setup was ridiculously easy, and the app is super user-friendly. What really impressed me is how sleek and modern it looks—it blends right in with my home decor instead of standing out like some bulky cameras do. I also love that it picks up sound and lets me talk through it—perfect for telling my dog to get off the couch when I’m not home . If you’re thinking about getting one, do it. The Nest Camera is reliable, stylish, and makes home security feel simple and smart. Definitely worth every penny!

-Mounting is a pain: The camera's shape is familiar, but the way it mounts stinks. You can't swivel it much, so whether it's on a wall or a shelf, it usually points down, not straight out. -Rotation is limited: Forget about mounting it on the side—you can only rotate the image 180 degrees (for ceilings), not 90 degrees. -Picture quality is sharp (mostly): The camera sensor is great. During the day, you can zoom in and actually see people's faces outside. Inside, the colors are pretty accurate, and it's nice and sharp. -Night Vision: Night vision outside requires the camera to be outside or there will be too many reflections. Night vision inside gives a decent picture due to the infrared LEDs. -Wide-angle lens has distortion: It gives you a great view of a large room, but the full image looks a bit stretched or distorted until you zoom in. -AI features are good: The face detection works really well, so you can tell it which faces are "friendly" to stop getting annoying alerts. -Installation is annoying, but quick: You have to use the Google Home or Nest app, sign in, and agree to their arbitration policy, which means no class-action lawsuits. That's a lot of trust you're putting in Google for a device that collects so much info. Once you scan the barcode, you're pretty much ready to go. -Overall feeling? Disappointed: I appreciated the older Nest camera's small size and flexible mounting. This new one is bigger, the mounting is terrible, and the corporate policies are worse. Even though the sensor is sharp, the rest of the problems make it hard to recommend. This is definitely a step down.

Google has been known for trying to have easy to use devices as of late. This camera is one of those set it and forget it kind of devices. Packaging is simple and effective. I was able to set it up with just a minor hiccup initially where I needed to scan the QR image more than once, for some weird issue, since the Google Home app didn't process the connection. Once that was successfully connected to my home devices, I went in easily to setup the event notifications in settings. What makes this worth a consideration is the ability to setup your event recordings for specific people, pets, or even smoke or carbon monoxide alarms. You can even define these further by selecting zones. Whether you are home or not, you are able to configure the recordings to save and or notify you of those activities. I will say, your new security camera will benefit from having the Google Home Premium subscription but it isn't necessary. I'm unfortunately in Illinois where face detection isn't allowed by local law. This is the main feature I would love to have in order to identify when family versus strangers come to my front door. There are other Gemini features that you may find are worth looking into.

Easy to setup with my Google Home app. Both day and night pictures quality are excellent. The long cable that comes with it makes it easy to install in areas far from an outlet.

Great next Gen camera. The quality is crystal clear, the app is great, and knowing Google is there to keep me safe is excellent. Mounting these is a little funky, you can't really place them in a corner unless you are okay with very crooked video, would only recommend for straight on applications, such as the middle of a wall.

The Google Nest Cam Indoor camera is exactly what I was needing! It integrated with my ADT security system very easily. The image quality is very good, and the field of vision is amazing. Very easy to set up and mount onto the wall. Overall, by far my favorite camera set-up I've ever had.

[Employee of bestbuy] I previously had the wired indoor Nest camera which already quickly became one of my favorite cameras. The new wired Nest camera takes what made the previous gen great and improves upon it. Hardware wise, on the outside not much has changed. The camera still has the smooth plastic matte finish that makes in blend in if the surrounding areas are close to the color of your choice. It’s still roughly the same size as the previous gen so it won’t stand out too much. The optics are where the upgrades lie with a better field of view and also a clearer and more sharper resolution for video. Software gets an upgrade thanks to Gemini which it comes with a free trial to test out the new features such as daily summaries and detailed notifications of what it’s viewing. Google Home manages the camera and settings which are easy to setup and access within the app. Overall it is a great smart camera which is a no brainer for those in the Google ecosystem and even if you are not, it could be a great start to show you what the Google and Nest ecosystem is capable of

This camera works great in our home to keep us informed about the house when we are not there. The camera gives good clarity and you will need to buy into a cloud plan if you want to capture and save videos of any length. Super easy to set it up!

I'm very impressed with the overall quality of these new Google Nest cameras. The video streaming is crisp and clear, loading is quick, and they are very intelligent about recording only the people, animals, etc that l want and nothing more. They were easy to install and never miss a beat.

I have had Nest cameras since they were Dropcam. As they die, the new Google cameras force me into the Google Home app which is significantly worse than the Drop app was. Constantly spinnings bar when I load, can't get to the section of video I want, can't stay zoomed in when I scrub, scrub bar is much worse, etc etc etc. The UI gets worse every revision. I think it's time to find a new service -- Google's camera products have gotten to the point of being more annoying than useful. Foir example, the doorbell rings and I can't get the video on the screen to see who it is for 2 mins and by then they're gone. Seriously? Garbage. I have one old indoor Dropcam that is STILL GOING so I can see the experience differences every day when I check it. No updates in years, but it is STILL BETTER than Google Home. Image quality, when you can get it, is pretty good. AI features are somewhat useful. So 2 stars.

I have other Google Home devices, which made setting up the camera easy and quick. The quality of the picture and features is what I’ve come to expect from Google Home devices.

Camera used to watch driveway, excellent quality and alerts. Once turning off red light, great visualization to a well lit area at night through window pane.

It small, nice, and I love the software it uses. You don’t need a smart home hub to utilize it, and it’s really good at notifying you with motion.

Camera works well, but the setup can be annoying, as Google still hasn't figured out how to make devices that work as seamless and painless as Apple has. Their recognition needs some work. It can't tell the difference between a dog and a person.

Works exactly the way it should. Picture quality is sharp, setup was quick, and the app notifications hit fast. Reliable, simple, and worth it.

Even if it’s 2K resolution, as long as your internet connection is working fine, this camera is great! It’s AI detection and detail it provides is amazing!
