Bought this product after seeing that you should replace your detector every ten years. It is an easy install and connected with no problem. Lets hope it never alarms.

The Nest Alarm is head and shoulders above the competition: better quality construction, easy set up, easy integration and superior protection.

Great design and easy to insatall but may be over price

Was a bit hesitant to try due to the price tag, but wouldn't hesitate to buy again (actually will be purchasing more to replace aging units). Very easy to set up and integration w/ Nest ecosystem sets these units above others.

When was the last time you tested your smoke detectors? You know you are supposed to do that once a month, right? These test themselves and you’ll get a smart phone notification letting you know they did it. Maybe not as good as doing it yourself, but way better than never doing it. Also if you have smoke detectors that are wired together and one has a low battery and they all beep and you don’t know which one is the problem? Not a problem here... you get a notification that tells you which one has a bad battery. Yes, they are pricey, but they are worth it.

I have used these before and work great. These have not been isntalled yet but will soon. I iwll try to post a picture. They also make your ceiling llok great, modern and sleek design. I do need to figure out how to remove the sensored light for religious reasons.

It was easy to install and setup. I like being able to get alerts through the app on my phone and the light that comes on when it is dark and you walk into the room.

Super easy to install, and program. Instructions are clear and concise. Love the night light feature. Nice clean look to them as well. Have 3 of them in my house now.

good buy cost on nest is slightly crazy being rated for 10 years futures being worth the extra cost

Easy Setup! Have these throughout the house and love them. They are so much better than the standard smoke alarms typically found in homes.

Simple to install and setup. Knowing that these test themselves daily and that id receive notifications in an emergency makes me feel so much more at ease leaving my cats home while I travel. Great product, no complaints.

As a retired firefighter I understand the dangers of not only smoke and fire but also the silent, odorless killer, carbon monoxide. When it was time to replace my 3 smoke and 2 CO detectors, my research led me to the Nest (combined) Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector. For me the choice was easy. The installation was simple, the app is great, my family is well protected. There are many cool and important features that are worth reading about. Some might hedge on purchasing the Nest due to the price. If you do, think about this. What is your family worth? There is no dollar amount on mine!

Your smoke detector probably works quite well. If that's all you're looking for, stop here. However, if you are a person who likes to be in more control of his or her home safety, this item may suit you quite well. I love that I can connect it to IFTTT to send me an email (if things are amiss or to change the batteries, for example). Setup is as easy as one could expect, and I feel better about the house knowing that it checks itself every month. If you have qualms about shelling out 100+ for each smoke alarm, do yourself a favor and purchase one. I highly recommend it.

That’s what it does. That’s what it’s designed to do plain and simple. But the man reason for buying this over a regular detector is this: What happens if it works as designed but you are not home?? I need to know. Which is why I switched out my regular detectors for this. Assuming my home network hasn’t yet burned up, I will get notified while away and using my in-home cameras I can verify if there is a problem and notify the authorities before my house burns down. Con: Expensive

My first two were so good I ended up at fitting the whole house. Now I have eight throughout the house. They all worked great and are all linked together!
