Great product I have used them for years now love that it’s connected to WiFi and sends instant messages in case of smoke. Great product.

I was sick of not being able to reach my old smoke alarms that would seemingly go off without warning. Already own a nest thermostat do this was a no brainer. Easy to install and use

Great device ... especially linking them with other battery and hardwire nest smoke detectors. Runs great. Love the night light function.

This is a pretty nice smoke detector and CO2 detector. If you have other Nest produtcts, then this is a good purchase because it will interact with the Nest thermostat to turn it off if it detects CO2 as well as helping the Nest thermostat learn when someone is home for advanced heating/cooling schedules. I gave this a 3 star review because I can’t believe the thermostat doesn’t have the connectivity wire that links it in with the rest of the non-Nest fire alarms in your house. So, if this fire alarm goes off, it will not trigger the other non-Nest fire alarms in the house as well. If you have multiple Nest Protect units, then they will talk to each other and alarm, but that’s not good enough in my opinion. It’s a way to get you to buy multiple Nest Protects and that is kinda lame in my opinion. Installation was super easy, software setup is very intuitive.

Mine was a replacement for a wired smoke detector so the wiring and installation was easy. Shut off power, remove old detector and wiring connector, insert new wiring connector and mount new Nest unit base and twist the unit onto the base, turn on power. Installation was less than 20 minutes. Only issue is that Nest doesn't support windows phone.

The detectors are very "smart", and linked well to each other. Very good installation instructions. Unfortunately, I erroneously believed that they would data-link with the Nest burglar/intrusion alarm central unit. This is not the case, so whereas the intrusion alarms can send notifications to the Brinks security center, the CO/smoke/fire detection units are only useful to notify those physically present to either check out the system sensors or evacuate - providing no benefit whatsoever when residents are away. This is ironic, considering the sophistication of the software in the units - perhaps someday there'll be a software upgrade which will permit the units to link to the central alarm system. The wireless link permits installation without requiring a third wire, and battery units will also link up, if your house is not hard-wired for detectors or linking third wires. The soft light which lights as you approach the area beneath the unit is an excellent night light. Overall, an excellent system, albeit rather pricey, but do not look for this to notify a call center or lower your insurance costs.

Installation was easy. It is the same like other home automation items and internet connected devices. You can always use a mobile app to control them.

A high tech smoke detector for both smoke and carbon monoxide detection. Love that it works with wifi and has a voice response and don't have to worry about changing batteries.

Easy to set up. Feel safe knowing if there is a problem and I am away. The only bad thing is it cannot be connected in series (other alarms cannot set it off if they are activated)

This was really easy to install. I like the automated testing and health check each day. It's one of those things you hope you never need to use...but you're glad I have it.

Very advanced, it is not just a loud noise alarm. It helps you cam down and tells you what you need to do without panic.

Placed these in strategic places near furnaces and living spaces. Love the built in motion sensor that turns on a light on the unit to light the way for kids at night.

Easy to install following the instructions. I like the idea of getting alerts if the is a fire on my cell phone. Also like that I have one app for the thermostat and camera.
