This will be your favorite phone ever. It's fast, has a great amount of storage, unlimited full-size photos! and takes great pictures in all light levels, clean Android interface, great sound, all you could want. However, if you already have a pixel, you already have all this. Upgrading to a pixel 2, this is what I learned after using the phone for a couple of weeks. You get a squeeze launcher for assistant, you lose your headphone jack, and you get an additional front speaker. I'm not an enthusiast, but the video quality doesn't seem significantly different to me. If you don't have a pixel phone, get this one. It's awesome. If you already have a pixel, keep it for a while, it's still awesome.

Had the OG Pixel and upgraded to the Pixel 2 based on a great experience with the old Pixel. The new camera is AWESOME, I love how the phone feels in my hand. I has a new feel to the back that makes it easier to hold onto. I love the squeeze to activate google assistant. To top it all off it is finally WATER PROOF (I believe for its rating it can be submerged in 1 meter of water for about a half hour-I'm not going to test it out tho).

First of all, the reason most people get this phone is for the camera. Nothing out there compares to the camera. The photo quality is incredible not only for a phone, but even compared to some mid-range "normal cameras". Video quality is very good but not quite A+. Image stabilization works very well and the dynamic range (details in bright and dark areas) is also great. The portrait mode (blurred background) works very well even with just one camera lens, too. For this reason alone, the phone is a top contender. That being said, it can be quirky. Make SURE you install all of the updates so the screen color choices get updated as well as other bug fixes. You can then saturate your screen colors more if you want. Call quality is good with (so far) no dropped calls on Verizon. The two front speakers are nice and clear/loud so speakerphone calls are better than average, too. You won't have a problem with lag due to the processor and RAM. The one issue - battery life. It's not stellar. Now, you can find a lot of tips and tricks articles online about things to do to help battery life, and some of them work SOME. But what I found was one tip after Android 8.1 got installed, which apparently switched back on a background feature of cellular data always being on. You have to go into developer mode in settings (search online on how to turn that on) and, "turn off "mobile data is always active" in developer options." This improved my battery life noticeably. This phone is still NOT going to get you through a full day if you are a heavy user always on it. But it helps you make it with "normal" use. The phone still loses a star from me for that battery life. But no other complaints about it.

My daughter's 3 year old phone was dying the slow death. But she was on her way back to college and a new phone was not in the budget. I looked at the entry level Samsung's and LG's, but was not really impressed. But they were in our price range at $7.00 a month. We looked around online and all of the stores. Went to Bestbuy and saw the Pixel 2 was on sale. Still more then what I wanted to go at this time due to the return to college, but it blew the others we were looking at out of the store. My daughter eyes are sensitive to light changes. the Pixel 2 can be set so the screen automatically changes the screens brightness. We looked at the Samsung S8, but it did not do it, at least we couldn't get it to. Being an art student she notices the sharpness and overall display was better then the S8 also. She has small hands and this phone worked out great. It just seems to work faster and better then the other brands we looked at in Bestbuy. So we went with the Pixel 2 and she is very happy. And being 400 miles away from home, I know that she has a great reliable phone to use. Now Dad has to work a little OT.

Pixel 2 is super fast and battery life far exceeds previous cell phone. 128Gb is a a great option and happy I got it.

Phone is pretty nice - some things I am still getting used too, but all and all not a bad phone... I switched from Samsung and am pretty happy I did...

Battery life is ok, great camera for selfies and otherwise

Bought this to upgrade our old phone. Leaps and bounds better. Battery life lasts up to 2 days depending on your use. Charges in an hour.

Love the simplicity and speed of this phone. It also fits nicely in my hand and the battery life has been Great!

I don't know what all the angst is about but Google did a great job on this second rendition. If you're looking for some rounded edge gimmicky phone, go get yourself something else. If you want something that just works really well, then this is the one.

I have never had a phone (iPhone or Android) before where there wasn't some annoyance or trade-off involved. My pixel 2 simply does everything I want it to do very well.

This is my first non-IPhone phone in 9 years. I should have switched earlier. The amount of control I have over the experience is crazy, and looking back on iOS, it now feels like the Fisher Price of phones (restricted so you don't hurt yourself).

Us 50 something's needed an upgrade to modern phones. Having old Android phones, we wanted to stick with them. These phones are great!!!! Lightweight, super fast, sleek, etc. Purchased them BOGO from our carrier 2 days ago and frankly, we are super happy! Battery life compared to our 6 year old phones, is AMAZING! The keyboard is a tiny smidge smaller than our old phones but honestly, we don't mind.

I got my pixel to yesterday and after using it for a while and about half charge I weren't down to 1%. This morning I went to charge it and in one hours time it went from 2% to 64% which is a little more than where it was yesterday when I started and I can tell you there is no way it will have anywhere near half of the claimed use time of 7.5 hours after 15th minutes of charging. I bought this phone be auseof it's supposed battery....we will see.
