Best phone i have ever had

I have had cell phones for many years, since 1992 to be in fact. But the Pixel 2 Xl has to be the best i have ever had. I love the pure android system with out the bloatware that a lot of other companies put on top of android. It is super fast and has the most amazing battery life i have experienced in many years. I can easily get a solid 2 days out of this phone and i have gone 3 days before. The camera is simply the best i have seen too. The only thing i wish it had was wireless charging but its not a deal breaker for me. If any of you are contemplating on getting the Google Pixel 2 XL Just get it and see for yourself how wonderful this phone really is.

There is no better android experience

There just isn't a better android software experience out there. I've owned samsung, htc (rip) and huawei phones, and nothing comes close. Truly, the pixel lineup provides the smoothest, fastest and most consistent android experience in the market.

I’ve had many phones in my days, but the battery life alone makes this the best phone out. This is the first phone I’ve ever felt comfortable leaving off the charger while sleep over night. I was not a fan of the display after a week of use & was so close to returning the phone. But when I turned off the Adaptive brightness under display settings, that made the display just as good as other phones I’ve used. There are a few features I wish they could fix. Coming from the LG V20 I wish Google could add volume settings in the notification panel to quickly adjust & also a notification symbol to take screenshots a lot easier so I want have to hold power an volume down button. Other than that this phone works great for me because mostly everything I use is google related. Can’t wait for the 3xl

    Not a good value

Google's playing in the big boy leagues with the Pixel now. Unfortunately, while the software is grade A the hardware is a huge disappointment when considering it costs $1000. This phone is a better value around $650. It lacks too many top-tier features to exist at its current price. I also have the Note 8, which is a better value. Google has always been a company that releases (and kills) projects---they have a long way to go before they become a product company. They're in dire need of good leadership if they want to join the ranks of Apple and Samsung. The executive teams they have now are not working out.

So you have heard about the many pros and cons of the phone, so I will not repeat what you probably already know. Overall, I actually really liked the phone. I did not have a screen issue. The phone was quick. The phone looked great. Battery life was phenomenal. Then why the 1 star? The 1-star is because of the Wi-Fi connectivity issue that seems to be plaguing the phone world-wide. In brevity, it seems that the pixel line of phones (due to Android Oreo) is having a problem where it randomly drops Wi-Fi connection. This sucks because (1), it makes a beep every time it disconnects. Yes, you can disable the notification beep, but therein lies problem number 2. If you turn off the notification, there are times where you will be using your phone and unbeknownst to you, the Wi-Fi has dropped and you are now using data. That’s not good for non-unlimited data people like myself, when all of sudden they get a notification that they’ve used or gone over their data limits. There seems to be a few fixes/work-arounds to this problem, especially if you are on Verizon (disabling the Verizon security app, etc.), but this is still unacceptable. When dropping $800 on a phone, you should not have to disable this and tweak that every time you want to use Wi-Fi at your house, office or public use. Once again, great phone, but this, in my opinion is unacceptable, especially in light of the fact that there has been no fix/update from Google, although they are fully aware of the issue. I am coming from a Note 4 and I hate to go back to Samsung, because one of the greatest features of the Pixel was the lack of (Samsung) bloatware. But... my Note 4 was a phenomenal phone I could count on. I actually reactivated it and got a new battery after I returned my Pixel, and the Note 4 is back to normal again (lasts a full day without needing recharging). Final thought: Check your phone!

    Worst Phone Ever

This phone constantly crashes. If you lose cell service, you HAVE to turn it off and turn it back on for it regain signal. The simple text message app crashes constantly. The reception is horrible. Places I could talk on my Iphone easily (like MY HOUSE!) have become constant dropped calls. These are simple phone functions any manufacturer should have mastered by now. I will never buy a google phone again.

I adopted to iPhone when it was first launched. I have been using iPhone since then. I never had any issues. Recently I bought Google home and mini so I thought to try Pixel 2 XL. Since day 1 I have been having issues. It started with phone not being able to connect with my PC. Spent an hour with the Google support to be able to resolve the issue after a couple of factory resets. Then the blue tooth wouldn't connect with my car. After factory reset it would connect only to play music but I can't make calls. Never had any issues with an iPhone. I tried to connect August Smart Lock. Although it says successfully connected, it's not. With iPhone I just had to scan the bar code and it was ready to be used via Siri in less than a minute. The Google support response time is good but the two people I interacted with were not good. It's a shame that I had to pay $850 for such a bad phone. It's a lesson learned to try something new. I can't wait to turn this phone in and get an iPhone instead. I think that's the reason why Apple sell in a week as many phones as Google does in a year. Personally, I would not recommend this phone.

Fingerprint scanner failed. Because of my concerns about all of the issues with used devices, a Google employee (Dan) promised me a brand new device to replace my faulty Pixel 2XL. Google refused to honor his word and would only replace with a used refurbished. #badcustomerservice #googlesucks #googlelies #customerlost
