The Google Pixel 9 is ideal for avid picture takers and visual content creators. The photos it takes are crystal clear and very vivid, even without any editing! And they print just as detailed as it shows on the phone’s display. It has a top-notch macro focus feature plus a wide-angle lens, but a telescoping lens would have been nice to have on this phone model too. Now for the rest: Other Pros: • Great Battery Life: The 4700 mAh battery supports both fast and wireless charging, providing a full day of use on a single charge. • Good Display: Its OLED display is bright enough in daylight; and streamed video content looks great (with settings adjusted to 120Hz) • Advanced Connectivity: Supports WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3. • Impressive Software Support: Includes 7 years of software support (great to have if phone itself holds up that long). Cons: • Fingerprint Sensor and Facial Recognition Reliability: Fingerprint doesn’t seem to be as reliable as other devices; and facial recognition is hit or miss. • Display settings: The settings have to be adjusted to 120Hz from the locked default 60Hz setting otherwise the colors are lacking. • Gaming: Performance is weak and not nearly as fast as other devices. Play quality sucks in apps with demanding game features. • Internal Cooling: The Pixel 9 tended to overheat and bog down more than I expected in Midwest heat conditions. • Speaker Quality: Music and video sound has a slightly tinny distortion to it and bass is pretty much nonexistent. AI Features: • “Add Me” feature in the camera for group photos using AI (cool feature if you can figure out how to get it to work consistently). • Pixel Studio for AI-generated pictures, which might appeal to some users. • Gemini Live for voice conversations with an AI, similar to browser-based chatbots, but with more natural sounding voices. I’ll agree that it is a step up from Google Assistant, but not a feature I just have to have. Overall, the Pixel 9 has outstanding camera features and WiFi signal range. However, the phone’s general build and overall performance qualities need to be better for it to be my everyday phone.

The camera is insane Google nailed the low-light shots again, plus the video quality is finally top tier! Smooth design and that 120\text Hz screen is gorgeous. This is one of my favorites phones I've owned. It is fast and reliable and just all around solid with plenty of battery life for my use. The phone recharges fast for my needs. Sometimes quirks pop up like the screen will freeze, but that's a computer for ya. I sporadically ran into small freezing with my iPhones in the past. I really love that the phone has a great camera and seven years of security and other software updates promised by Google. You can't get that kind of software support from most companies.

I recently upgraded to the Google Pixel 9 (128GB, Unlocked, Wintergreen), and I'm thoroughly impressed! I recently got the Google Pixel 9 and I'm impressed with its camera features and customization. I've been an iPhone user for a long time, so I never considered an Android phone. The Google Pixel 9 feels nice in hand, but it's a bit slippery and I've dropped it a few times, causing some scratches on the screen. It's lightweight and easy to handle and has a 6.3-inch screen, which is a good size. There are 4 colors available, and I think they all look great, especially the Peony version. The camera is probably my favorite thing about this phone. The photo and video quality is stunning, and I love the various editing options. The "add me" feature is great for group photos, allowing you to add yourself into the shot. The Magic Editor is perfect for content creators, and the Audio Magic Eraser is fantastic for reducing background noise in busy places like restaurants or concerts. These features are all built into the camera app, so there's no need to download extra apps. Gemini is another great tool on this phone that makes life easier. It responds to specific requests, helps find and respond to emails, and can open apps for you. There's a paid version called Gemini Advance, which costs $20 a month and offers more capabilities. It's not essential, but I decided to try it since it comes with a free month. I don't usually use these types of apps, but I thought I'd give it a try. The Pixel Screenshot feature organizes all your screenshots, making it easy to search for them using keywords. The phone's screen is incredible, with vibrant colors and clarity. I use my phone for watching videos, movies, and social media, and the audio quality is loud and clear. Overall, this is an amazing phone and definitely worth the price. If you're a content creator who needs a great camera and editing options on the go, I highly recommend it.

The Google Pixel I think is a decent smartphone that has no bloatware of any kind, though I won't say as compared to the other brand of a smartphone of a different OS that I have (iPhone with IOS), it can be a learning curve being introduced to the Android OS, however there can be similarities with different twists when its commonly navigating the home screen, accessing settings, taking photos and video, switching between apps and so on. I have taken photos so far with the smartphone which features a 50 megapixel main camera and what I like with the camera app is the feature of having the photo always level, to which we always want the photo at zero degrees; I haven't so far encountered or seen a setting for that for the iPhone's main camera app as I have looked as much of the settings as I can. Going back to the Pixel, the Magic Editor is quite a feature I have read about, but will be needing some practice on moving objects, expanding, as I know what's great is the Add Me feature in group photos which the person taking the photo, can be in the group photo as well being added later and that places of a person in the group trades to take the other photo, which is convenient than having two pictures with the two different persons; its just one. Video recording was briefly taken and seems to be on par and usual; much more to tinker settings and experiment with later on, but it feels common with the zooming in and out and so on. Regarding the phone and dimensions and though this is a non pro size, its fits well and has quite some screen area as front facing camera is a dot. I have used a nan sim card with ATT from a family members phone and it works well accepting the network, making calls, etc. I think Google can do a better job of the placement of the sim card tray; i is at the bottom which could be where the speakers and microphone are placed and the hole for the sim card ejection, is on the same area of the sim card slot but the adjacent/opposing microphone hole can be mistaken for the sim ejection hole to put in your sim ejecting tool or safety pin and it did however unfortunately happened with me for a split second of putting the tool in that microphone hole. Of course I was careful in time, but others may need to be aware about this. I think the sim card slot (if google pursues in next pixel models that support a sim card) should be on either side of the phone. This phone will serve as an travel overseas phone and to use the country's service provider whenever we visit, and use it to make calls and surf the web, and use it as a tethered hotspot with our smartphones to make voip calls and also surf the web are our phones still are currently locked to our service provider at moment (and though our service provider has "international day passes", it more costly). But also it would be used to add a line to our account which we'd port our landline # soon since the old POTS will be phased out very shortly.

Been using the Pixel 9 and honestly… I’m kinda obsessed. The size is perfect — super handy, easy to use with one hand, and just feels great to carry around. The camera is a total win. I don’t even have to try hard; everything just comes out sharp and clean. Even quick snaps look like I put effort in. Perfect for random moments or baby pics. And the AI stuff? So good. It’s one of those things where you don’t realize how useful it is until you start using it. Photo editing, call screening, all those smart features just make life easier without me even thinking about it. Overall, the Pixel 9 has been such a pleasant surprise. Smooth, smart, compact, and honestly just fun to use. Loving it so far.

I usually buy the bigger screen phones but the prices are getting out of hand. So I went back to the regular size phone this time. It takes a bit to get use to the screen size as I didn't realize how much smaller the screen was? I'm pretty happy with this phone now after having it for a few weeks. The battery is way better than I thought it would be. The speakers on this phone are horrible for listening to music. The wifi connections are spotty and lose connection to wifi, I have to do some tricks to get it to work properly. I don't camera much but it takes great pictures to me. I really didn't like this phone at the start, but it kinda grew on me. I was really hoping the speakers would be better. Overall though it's a nice phone and seems pretty quick googling and was easy to setup after disabling things I don't use. There's more apps than usual pixels from the past. The screen is brighter and clear. I'll keep this phone and wait for the pixel 10 though.

This a great phone with great features. Starting with the setup, it was very easy. Just use your google account and it starts to retrieve your information. It also gives the option to connect your previous phone if its IOS or Android. I upgraded from an android. From the setup, it gives you plenty of options to customize your settings. Everything from the ring tone to the way the phone display looks. This phone is sim card ready or e-sim ready. I used the sim card from my previous phone. It connected with out any issues. Now the camera takes incredible pictures. It has a feature called "add me" this is great feature for taking pictures with your friends. First you take a picture of a friend leaving a space for yourself. After the picture is taken, give the camera to the friend and it guides you to add yourself to the previously taken picture. I took several pictures with this feature and sent it to my fiends. They were very impressed and asked how I did it. Overall, this phone is a great phone with all around customizations. Its a great value for the price. Its not the premium version of this line up but it doesn't disappoint.

The first is that Google provides seven years of system and security upgrades. That is priceless to any user, most phones develop irritating glitches when their android version is outdated and require an alternative app to do the security lifting. The second is the camera, Pixels have long been thought to provide the best quality. I have found this one excellent for me. It produces colors that are the same as the ones I see visually, and it has very high definition. In other respects it performs much like other phones, but the processor is very quick and 128 GB storage is ample for me, though other users might prefer more. Since Android is a Google product (like the Pixel) I feel assured that all the moving parts will play well together.

I’ve been using the Pixel 9 for 3 months now and I’m seriously impressed. The camera quality is outstanding, especially in low light — my photos have never looked better. The phone is super fast, smooth, and doesn’t overheat even with heavy use. Battery life easily lasts all day, and I love the clean Android experience. It feels premium in hand, and the AI features are genuinely helpful without being gimmicky.

Upgraded from the Pixel 6 and I am very happy. Prior phone was getting slightly outdated and slowing down (after I notably shattered the screen 6+ times) and this has been everything I wanted. Battery is phenomenal. I'm an attorney and just look at emails, read documents, and death scroll through videos every day and a full charge lasts longer than a full day. Not a photographer, but the front and back camera are beautiful. Screen is extremely bright, which was lacking in the pixel 6. No issues looking at it during the day. Screen size is what I would say a standard size and works very well for emails, documents, and reading. I got the lime green color and it is very pretty. I have a case - since I can't be trusted - but the phone itself is gorgeous, although notably slippery. Everything runs and loads perfectly on it too, which was the reason I upgraded. I also switched from AT&T to GoogleFi, which has been game changing and the best service I've ever had. Maybe it's because it's a Google phone but I highly recommend. Overall, I recommend the switch to anybody who uses their phone for normal and business uses. The pro and XL would be better I imagine for people who really care for the camera or really need a larger screen (maybe for excel documents), but for normal use, this phone is perfect.

An excellent quality phone from Google. I upgraded from Pixel 6a. Photo quality is better and battery lasts bit longer than 6a. Pre-launch Promotional deal from Best Buy made me jump on the new phone, else I would have waited for sometime before buying. Many positives about the phone. Which everyone talks about. Some negatives - Fingerprint hardly works with tempered glass on. Face recognition works but problem is at night / when it's dark. - Feels heavy (because I am comparing with 6a) - Because of the weight, I felt accessing the keyboard is bit difficult. I have fairly large hands.

As stated in the title of this review, to sum this up the Pixel 9 is a niche device that charges flagship prices for midrange hardware based around the idea of being a creators phone with a nice camera. I started off with Android with the very first Motorola Droid phones. They had the hilarious iCant ad comercials back then. What I love about the Pixel phones (previously Nexus) is the vanilla or close to vanilla Android OS that you get with them. Additionally you get the promise of long running support on them. I have a kid rocking my recently retired Pixel 3 XL. The Pixel 9 continues these things I like, but at the same time picking up some things I don't. To start with, the older Nexus devices as well as Pixels had midrange hardware, and that was ok. They were priced cheaper and the lack of bloat on the devices made them perform about the same. Additionally they had nice cameras (starting with the Pixel series). Now the Pixel is sporting the latest Tensor 4 processor. Problem is, its not much better than the Tensor 3, and the GPU wasn't upgraded at all, simply had a slight clock boost. This leads to the phone feeling rather sluggish at times, especially during animations. For gaming, because of the weaker performance this phone is not worth considering. Its about half as fast as other devices, causing it to have a rather lackluster experience in demanding mobile games. The Pixel 9 base model doesn't come with a vapor chamber like the other models which is an issue. I found multiple times while outside in Oklahoma that the device got extremely warm causing it to throttle more than normal and battery life started tanking. Finally on the cons side of things, the settings this thing ships with make it feel even worse. For starters the display is capable of 120hz, but ships with it locked at 60hz. And its very noticable in use. Switching this to Adaptive Refresh Rate makes it feel a bit better. If you really want the best experience though you need to enable developer options then Force Max Refresh Rate. This will lock it to 120hz and barely has an effect on battery life. Secondly the default colors are flat. This is an aesthetic choice to go with the Pixel theme, but it really makes the phone very muted. Changing the color profile makes it much more vibrant and appealing to look at. And even though the screen is OLED (which notoriously have lower brightness), the peak brightness on the Pixel 9 is plenty even on the bright Oklahoma days. The camera is the other area where this device shines. I'm not a photographer by any stretch of the imagination, but even I can appreciate a good picture. The Pixel doesn't disappoint there and generally has really good photos, though for my taste they are over processed to the point of appearing artificial. I am a little disappointed that the Pro features that you'd find on other devices are locked out of this one, and you don't get the telescoping lens, but the addition of the wideangle lens is nice. Overall very happy with the camera. And finally the after thought, AI. I feel like I can't be the only one who is struggling to find real use cases for AI in day to day life, but thats where I'm at. Pixel 9 introduces a few new features that I find mostly to be gimmicks. The first one you'll notice is the "Add Me" feature within the camera. This allows you to take a picture of you and your friends, with all of you in the same picture by using AI to fuse together two shots. Its not perfect and I never found myself needing to use it, but its there. Secondly there is Pixel Studio, which allows you to to use AI to generate pictures like you can do through many online photo generators. I have only toyed around with it briefly, as I don't find this very useful to me. But for those that like to do it, its there. And the last one of note is Gemini live which is an AI that you can have an actual conversation with. Its just like using Gemini within your browser except you can use your voice. So if you really like the AI chatbots, this might be your thing.

Google really knocked it out if the park this year with the Pixel 9 (I think with the 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL, and mostly with the 9 Pro Fold)! I got 2 of these Pixel 9s for my parents and only time will tell if they're great in the long term, but the feel in hand, general speed of the Tensor G4 in day to day use, and cameras make this a very compelling option for most people. The lack of a telephoto lens isn't too big of a deal for most, and I don't foresee it being so for my parents. I daily drive Android and iOS, and I've never been compelled to use the iPhone for anything over any Android phone I've owned short of shooting video. Google's flavor of Android (yes, they own it, but they still customize the heck out of it) is my personal favorite, and does without all of the Samsung redundant apps and over the top glitz (for instance). The only reason I'd say anyone should upgrade to the Pro or Pro XL models over the standard 9 is if you need more camera options ("pro controls"), demand the best screen specs, and plan to use on board AI features (RAM bump). The Pro Fold is a whole different story that only intense tech enthusiasts and those with oodles of cash should be looking into. Throw in the promotions Google was (and hopefully will again) running for trade in, especially for iPhones, and it's an easy sell!

If you're a fan of the pixel series, this is a great installment. Beautiful screen, great camera, great battery life, and snappy performance. Two weeks in and no problems so far.

I've been using Pixel phones since Gen1 and this is just what I needed. It's camera was a big improvement and is perfect for taking my family photos/closeup shots. I also appreciate a much better battery life. AI is included but easy to disable if, like me, you prefer the regular Google assistant.

The phone is quick and responsive and physically feels like a quality product. The camera takes decent photos, but lacks on the zoom. Battery life gets through the day, but nothing special. The phone however is very slippery and the screen appears to scratch relatively easily.

The phone it's excellent, it has a premium feeling on hand with a very Optimized performance, excellent camera, especially in low light conditions (better than iPhones). Plus you get 7 years of updates, good size, although it does feel a bit heavy.
