Premium build, great specs and performance with optimized chrome experience. The finger print unlock is great. Touchscreen is responsive. Travels well, light weight. Full OS and split screens are great for productivity. No complaint after 6 weeks of use. Recommend the g-brydge keyboard.

Bought this to replace an iPad that had served its purpose for years but finally gave up with a twitchy touch panel. This is a sturdy device and the keyboard (which was included as a package special) makes it really useful. They keyboard has a nice typing experience and the overall ChromeOS user experience is great and well implemented on this device. The screen resolution is very nice as is the audio and now more importantly than ever, the microphone pickup for video calls. I think an i5 or i7 is overkill for a device like this if you are strictly using as a ChromeOS device however, these can sideload linux (and does it pretty easily) so the higher power processing might be useful to some whilst maintaining a sleek device. Having 2 usb-c ports is also nice so you can plug it into a usb-c dock and expand ports and functions as well.

So when I initially saw this when it came out I loved the idea but then reviews kept me away. However, updates have made this thing excellent. Because of its ability to run Android apps, this is a very good overall device. It seems to pull more battery on Android apps I'm guessing because they're not meant to be x86 applications. I mostly use it for browsing the web doing some general work some Android games ETC. So far I've had absolutely no issues with it. It is a little bit heavier than most other tablets but the screen is outstanding and the sound is outstanding so that makes up for it. Finding a non-folio case is also pretty difficult.

First one had a bad usb port. Not a problem.
Had a rough time getting my unit exchanged with best buy. They made buy a second unit before they would send me a new one. But after several hours on hold and two trips to the local store. I finally got a manager who would help me.
Unfortunately best buys policy's put such a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think I can do business with them again.
I gave the unit 5 stars because when I got one that worked. It works really great! Just best buys policy's are really hard to navigate. And they are not willing to help.

The speakers are amazing, the way the sound is towards you is great watching media. The size is great it doesn't feel too big working on it as a tablet. I didn't buy the keyboard cause I wanted to see if I would like enjoy it alone, which I didn't. Working on the browser was fine until all of a sudden it crashed. YouTube app crashed occasionally, like almost everything was crashing occasionally. I was like is this normal. Then 1 day I was working on it and it just randomly rebooted. That's where I draw the line and hit the return button. I really wanted to like it but software felt too buggy for me to keep it.

I was worried about the Slate due to the early reviews when it was overpriced and didn't come with the keyboard and pen + the OS was buggy...fast forward to 2020 and this device is AMAZING, OS has matured and it is now one of the best values around. The Slate will get OS updates until 2026 (wow). Screen, colors, resolution are amazing, love the keyboard and the pen is a good bonus to have.

I had been tempted to get a Pixel Slate ever since it was released, but the price was a bit too steep for me. When Best Buy discounted the Pixel Slate and keyboard package by $650, it became a no-brainer. Now that I have owned it for a few months, I can honestly say that this would have been worth the regular MSRP price. It has a beautiful display, a keyboard that is a joy to type on, and it was works wonderfully as a tablet or a laptop. My only complaint is that the Google folio keyboard has to be on a flat service in order to be used. It is too wobbly to place on your lap and type comfortably. However, this issue is solved if you purchase the Brydge Type A bluetooth keyboard, which was made specifically for the Pixel Slate. I chose to purchase both keyboards since the price was so drastically reduced. Purchasing the Pixel Slate, both keyboards, and the pen cost me less than $715 altogether. Talk about an amazing deal. I would definitely recommend buying this device over the Microsoft Surface Pro. I love it!

Bought this for around the house and for the kids to use in the car. Pretty decent little tablet, loads and runs quick and pretty simpole to use, the kids love it. We use it for educational sites, youtube and videos mostly and it works great for that. The sound is incredible from this little device when watching Netflix.
My only gripe is that some of the games that we play do not support the Intel architecture that this tablet uses and they will not run. These games don't mention that and will let you install them, but you cannot run them. Clash Royale is 1 in particular that will not work.
Other than the Android games not working, this has worked out well for us.
The keyboard case is OK and almost necessary since the tablet itself doesn't have a kickstand. I may end up finding a better one. The pen not so much, we used it for a day and now it sits in a drawer.

I purchased this item as it had a really good price and the keyboard came free with it as well. I was currently using an hp chrome book and thought this would be an excellent addition as well. I mainly use the chrome book to do some light work and to browse and watch some YouTube videos. For this it is an excellent device and the speakers although they can be louder do have a nice sound. The screen is very good and of excellent quality. It also syncs well with my pixel phone to where I can send and receive texts through the chrome book as well.

The Chrome OS is wonderful on this tablet/laptop. I can do appreciate how this device functions. I have read the reviews for the Celeron processor on the lower end models. Yes, I can see why those people have the reviews that they. However, this m3 model and up, no issues here. Love the fact that I saved $658 by buying the package deal and getting the keyboard and pen for free, plus getting the tablet on sale!! It was such a great deal when I got the last one in the store that I went home and ordered a second one for my partner and had it delivered!! Just enjoy this product so much. It is the answer I was looking for in a tablet and a laptop. And it will be traveling with me on Christmas vacation. Merry Christmas all! Get this deal. You will regret it if you don't!

This is Google's first, and apparently last, Chrome OS tablet. The optional keyboard really makes this shine. Being able to run Linux apps under Chrome OS also helps to expand what can be done. It's easy to carry around and lightweight so I find myself preferring this over a full Windows laptop.

+ Good stand-by time on battery
+ Build quality
- Touch screen is not very responsive sometimes
- Heavy
I'd only recommend it at less than $300 price. Otherwise, you should get an iPad.

I dont give two clucks about Chrome as an OS or a browser. I would never use that for any purpose unless it was the only tool to do basic web browsing. However this runs Android apps (most of them) so for my intentions - a large screen color comic book reader, this suits the bill. There are a few no-name chinese large-screen android tablets, your ipad pro, your surface, or your aged galaxy tab 12, but this one is made by google so will have better support for longer with a 12" screen. Be aware that certain apps wont run correctly on this such as 'roblox'. Reading comic books on it is better than on a Nexus 9. I would be very happy if google put out a nice nexus 13 tablet that would be great. If they ever came out with a QUALITY color e-ink reader (with 12" screen) I would buy it on the first day.

I am very pleased with the purchase of my Google Pixel Slate. It very fast when waking it up. The screen is gorgeous and the sound is very good too with the dual speakers. I am looking forward to getting a keyboard because there are some things you just can't perform without it. It was an especially good deal it been returned for some reason.

I got this machine to replace an older MacBook Pro with a 1280x800 resolution display. My uses are all web based so a Chromebook was a perfect fit. The display on this thing is amazing and I love the optional keyboard that clicks onto it. Overall very impressed. It's able to do everything I need including Stadia @ 1440p (which looks incredible on this display).

Look, reviews a year ago are so outdated! That was when Chrome OS was first getting into tablets!!! So the software wasn't ready,
Software is much much much better now! It's not perfect, but this device is very fast for the price, works great, and I would highly recommend it! A great tablet for a great price (at $500, when it comes with the keyboard and pen!)
If you check out Android Digest on youtube, you should see a new review on it, hopefully in the next month or so from this comment, as I'm using it and excited to do a video review soon!

Coming from a traditional chromebook, this was a very nice upgrade. The display is great, much whiter and brighter than my 2018 Chromebook. Battery life is good but not amazing for a chromebook Keyboard has good feel when on a solid surface.

I have owned my Slate for 4 months now. My wife and I have recently bought into the Chromebook ideal and have not been disappointed. This is a great machine that is snappy and handles everything I have thrown at it. There are the occasional bugs but they have been few and far between and have been fixed with googles frequent and seamless updates. My son and I love it for streaming video and it is equally competent at running sheets and docs with multiple tabs open. It can be a little cumbersome to use in laptop form while on your lap and the folio keyboard does feel a little loose for a $200 item but the keyboard is excellent (I love the round hush keys). I am definitely not a power user but I do love the ease of switching between windows and virtual desktops and I have been happy with the battery performance. In summation, this is a wonderful machine that feels very premium and should fill most peoples needs. I do feel like it is slightly overpriced but has been on sale frequently and I am sad that they are not producing a second generation.

Decided to upgrade my 2017 Samsung Chromebook Plus. I'm glad i did. The Pixel Slate is definitely a nice upgrade to provide a better tablet experience with all of the traditional Chromebook features. The build quality is great and the speakers are amazing. Will keep this until the next great Google Pixel products arrives

This tablet have a really good build quality, solid construction. The resolution is nice and sharp, good color contrast, hard to beat a near 4k resolution. This is a chrome os tablet, so android apps will not work well, some may cause issue that may require a hard reset, so using android app is not recommend. For the price, it should have at least an i5 processor with 128GB. At that spec, the surface pro i5 is much more ideal than this tablet.
