Way more responsive compared to the OS on the smart TVs. I also like how it combines all movies or TV shows from multiple apps like Netflix or Peacock into one page too see what is available easier. 4K quality is superior as well.

Have an older TV that is still fine in terms of quality, but the software on it is out of date and stopped working. Got this device and it has modernized the TV and for a fraction of the price

Oh my do I like this. I upgraded from the previous Chromecast to this newer model. It's great. In addition to the being able to stream everything, it has a built in DVR or something magical, that I just love. I can now rewind my news and weather, or whatever it might be that I just missed or did I hear that right? Very happy that I invested in this.

I have been into the streaming game for a long time as far back as the original Google Chromecast, this device is by far the best Google TV streaming device I have used. Its got plenty of storage, so using multiple apps doesn't fill up the cache and use up all the storage. Its very quick and responsive. One thing I was pleasantly surprise by is the remote finder feature, I have a small child and they are always taking the remote out of the room. So the remote finder feature is super helpful. I do recommend this item.

This is definitely better than the previous generation. The picture quality and no buffering compared to the previous generation. This has more apps to choose.

This device is great if you love the google ecosystem. I enjoy the features google gives you and the simplicity. My only gripe is the remote was way better from the last generation devices when it comes to the actual structure of the remote. It was so much more premium feeling. I love that you can ask to find the remote now but the feeling of the remote is a downgreade the buttons stick and it has sharper edges and the backplate slips off way easier. I suggest the next generation google streaming device should work on a better remote. Its the thing you interact with the most with these devices why would you want to hold on to something that feels janky.

Storage Issue led me to buy the Streamer

My Sony Bravia has Google TV built in but I was dealing with constant issues of storage. I had to delete several apps that I had always had on there. Very frustrating so I decided to buy the Streamer and it has worked great. No storage issues.

An excellent upgrade from the “old” google tv dongle we had been using for sometime. I’m not sure on the exact specs of the machine but it works flawlessly and smoothly. No hiccups, no lag, and you can even connect an external SSD to watch your own media with compatible apps like VLC. There is many customization options with this box and I recommend it over other media streamers out there.

Bang for the dollar this streaming box is great. It is better than the others i tried. Speeds are great. There's no glitching and very rarely does it drop in quality but then pick right back up. When the other streaming sticks and boxes I have start going out I'll replace them with this.

It’s great for streaming, it’s fast and has enough memory. I can also have multiple user profiles so we can save our selections. The voice command recognition is really good… in general it’s easy to use, definitely user-friendly for not technological savvy people.
I definitely recommend this TV swimming device.

This is easier to use than the earlier model and though I was hesitant to order it, I am so glad I did. I do keep a larger dryer sheet with pet hair repellant atop the base unit to protect from dust and dander, and it does not interfere with performance. I do not have a smart TV and with this device I am able to stream whatever app I choose including local or national news, movies, etc.

I would like to be able to transfer from chromecast to this. Instead had to install the apps and sign into all the apps. That took more time than connecting it. Lol. The overall google tv app needs the ability to remove shows from the home screen and not just hide them. Delete history would be nice. Overall, i do see improvements from the chromecast to this. One last thing, the remote still needs to be designed thats not round. Slightly bigger is nice and a flatter bottom does help.
Hey there. We appreciate your feedback. Here are some troubleshooting steps to erase the watch history:
1. Sign in to your Google Account. 2. Go to myactivity.google.com. 3. Click YouTube History. 4. Click Manage history. 5. Click DELETE to choose a timeframe for the videos you’d like to delete.
Thanks for your other feedback, we've passed that onto the team!

Great Streamer, Frustrating Remote

The Google TV Streamer (4K) itself works fine, much like a Roku or Firestick. It’s a bit wider than I’d prefer, but the built-in Ethernet is a nice feature. However, the remote is a major letdown. From the layout to the design of the directional pad, it falls short. Be prepared to miss the OK/Enter button frequently.
The directional pad is placed at the top of the remote, which feels awkward, especially since most other manufacturers (and even older versions of Android TV) position it below a row of keys for easier, more comfortable access. Now, you have to hold the remote in an off-center way to use it.
Then there’s the tiny OK/Enter button—it’s simply too small for an average-sized thumb to press reliably. Maybe a child’s finger or using an index finger would work better? It’s frustrating enough that I’m considering returning the device. Ultimately, I found the experience unpleasant and ended up switching back to my Firestick because of the remote.
