For a long time I wanted a GoPro because I wanted to start filming my fishing excursions and I wanted one with a screen so I could see what I was filming. Unfortunately buying the brand new GoPros wasn't going to help my college budget. Then I saw this model and was instantly hooked. It may not be the latest model but I feel like for what I paid I got more than my money's worth. The camera comes with an LCD screen, all the charging accessories, and it is built in to a waterproofing case. I've submerged this camera countless times to get some really cool shots and the clarity is crystal clear. Very easy to use and not pushing maximum dollars. I'll never regret this purchase.

This camera was worth every penny. Absolutely wonderful. Footage is crisp and pictures are phenomenal. Underwater? Breathtaking experience. I can't wait to hit the water parks with it.

Bought this for my daughter to take for her semester abroad in China. She reports it works well for video and stills and has uploaded a bunch to dropbox, thanks to the built-in wifi!

This is a great little camera that takes excellent video. It's very sturdy. I dropped it on the hard ground and just picked it up kept shooting with no physical or mechanical damage. The footage edits smoothly in Apple Final Cut Pro X which is my video editor of choice. I really like the QuickCapture button on top. It makes it very easy to start shooting without having to turn it on first. I also make use of the GoPro App on my iPhone via Bluetooth for changing the settings, and the Apple Watch app for shooting. I can start and start recording from my Apple Watch but the best thing is that I can see the viewfinder on my Apple Watch. So I can frame my shot and start shooting right from my wrist. Very Cool! I had heard of the GoPro name and knew that they built quality cameras but I was undecided as to which model to get. After much comparison I selected the Hero+LCD because I was going to use it mostly hand held and the LCD will come in handy. I also felt there wasn't enough difference between the Hero+LCD and the Hero Silver to warrant spending the extra money. You really need to spend a lot more money for the Hero Black to get 4K @ 30p and then you would need to spend more for an LCD so the Hero+LCD seemed to be the sweet spot price-wise. My only regret in buying it is that this camera only shoots in ultra wide mode. Sometimes I like to use it as a second camera to record performances from an angle on the side of the stage and ultra wide is a bit too wide for that. I wish it had a wide or medium mode like the Silver and Black do. That would be the only reason I get the Silver over the +LCD. I took off 1 star because of this. If this camera had all three shooting modes it would be a perfect 5 stars.

I'm satisfied with the product. The videos & photos are of good quality. It performs well under water. No problems so far. My criticism is the lack of assistance provided by the sparse directions and the on line downloads. There are several aspects of the product which require more thorough explanation. These include how the camera is attached to the to the chest halter for desired angle positioning. My camera came with the primary holder in the upside down position, and the mechanism for attaching it to the halter was very difficult to use. None of the provided instructions covered these problems. Some of the Youtube vids addressing the problems got it wrong.. The tech people at Go Pro were helpful, but the process of setting up was unnecessarily frustrating. Additionally, the video editing app that I got online will not work. It displayed one time, and ever since, I get a message saying that it has stopped working. These aspects of the experience are disappointing.

This is a great camera. Works well, great quality. Not sure if you need an lcd screen if you have another device ( smart phone, tablet, etc) with wifi and Bluetooth tech. You can link your wifi camera and other wifi/ blue tooth device and use the screen on the second device as a screen. I don't regret getting the GoPro with the lcd but if you want to save a few dollars it is not necessary. I'm pretty old so I expect everything to come with a detailed instruction booklet however this camera comes with a very limited instruction book. All operating directions and questions are easily found on Internet and the instruction page that comes with camera direct you there. The camera does not come with memory card so do yourself a favor and buy one when you buy the camera. This is a great camera with plenty of features. It does what it is advertised, no regrets.

This camera takes excellent video and it is easy to download on your computer. I was impressed with how small it is and that it can be mounted on many different platforms. It seems to be a rugged camera with the ability to go in water to extreme depths and I don't have to worry about it. My only concern would be that it does not have a removable battery so someday when this battery goes bad I guess I will be in trouble but I figured by then it will be outdated. For what I use it for the battery seems to last long enough until I need to recharge it again .

My son wanted this for his birthday. He really likes it. It takes good video and pictures. The pictures underwater are really beautiful. It is definitely an action camera to use underwater, biking, etc.. I would not want it as a primary video camera. The interface seems a bit awkward to me, but I have not spent a lot of time with it either. Having the LCD screen is great so you can see what you are videoing or taking pictures of. Watching videos on the LCD is not great as you can barely hear the sound. The camera still seems a bit overpriced to me. Best Buy had a great package deal that came with a micro SD card and a case which made the purchase better. My son loves it and that is what matters!

This unit takes great video and works really easy! Had no issues connecting wifi to iPhone 6. My only two issues were simply that the waterproof case is integrated into the camera...meaning the camera cannot be removed....or the battery changed ( issue #2). Other than that works great and met a good price point. Love the touch screen LCD

As a first-time user of an underwater camera, I found the GoPro very easy to use. The LCD screen makes it easy to playback images/videos without downloading via an App. Still images & videos were very clear underwater. Sound quality was also good. Con- Sometimes after prolonged use the LCD menu was a bit slow to respond - Lagged by a couple of seconds.

It is a GoPro - don't have to talk about image quality... This is my second camera, i had some problems with the old one, thats why i decided to buy this model that is cheaper!!! Pros - 60 fps @ Full HD movies, integrated LCD touch screen, have wifi and 2h of battery life @ 1080p60 lol . Cons - You can't change the battery because the camera doesn't come out from case.

This was my first Go Pro purchase. It was an open box, but the camera was in excellent condition. I am very satisfied so far. I brought it to the beach with me and had fun taking pictures and videos underwater. The camera was so easy to carry around in my pocket when I was in Thailand. The LCD is a huge plus.

This is my first GoPro and I don't have experience with GoPros prior to this. After reading a lot of online reviews trying to decide between the HERO4 or the HERO+ LCD, I settled on this one because it was highly reviewed as a good beginner GoPro and not nearly as expensive as the HERO4. And truly it was really easy to use, the LCD makes recording and changing settings super convenient, and there are only 3 buttons (again, simplicity). It doesn't come with an internal SD card, and online reviews said I should go no larger than the 64GB micro SD, so I got 2 cards, each could handle 5.5 hours of recording at 30fps and 1080p. The only major complaint I have is that the battery life is very short. With a brand new GoPro, I barely hit 2 hours of runtime before the battery completely died on me. I try to save battery by auto-shutting off the LCD after 1 min, and keeping the wifi turned off, and powering the whole device down if I know I'm not using it for more than 15 min before my next recording destination. It helps stretch out the battery life to about 3 hours but having to do these "workarounds" can be quite annoying. Other than that, I'm quite happy with the GoPro HERO+ LCD thus far. I also bought the GoPole, wifi remote, quick clip and head mount, and the car mounts, and some other accessories. They amounted to almost the same cost as the GoPro itself, so be warned that accessories can almost double the price of your entire system. But some of the accessories came in super handy (eg GoPole, car mounts).

I bought this camera as an open box item as I was new to the whole "GoPro" movement. I had used other small action cameras but they didn't have the resolution that this camera has. I went on vacation to Playa Del Carmen and I took awesome pictures and videos, both under water and none. The picture resolution is good enough, they come out crisp and clear. The video at it's highest fps is more than adequate for an average-to-moderate user. (Maybe even for those use it a lot). Quality is great and feels sturdy in your hand. Don't be fooled because you can't remove the camera from it's case, it's small enough to the point that "who cares anyways". CONS The audio is kind of bad underwater with its thickest screen cover. I had left it on for entire trip because I was going to be around water about 80% of my trip. So I didn't bother taking the other two covers. I did try to take video without the cover, and the audio recorded was a little better. I am not sure if this is a "one of" issue or if it's an issue with this model. Overall, I do recommend it to people on a budget, you get the majority of the benefits of the higher end GoPro models at a fraction of the cost. It has a touchscreen which is neat but not needed. I like the touch screen because it also lets you see what you're recording.

Our VCR camera died before our daughter's wedding. Bought the Hero Silver. The final MP4 product after editing is good. However the built in microphone does not pick up beyond a couple feet. Bought a microphone and jack but then had to buy a skeleton housing. Soon the complete package got way over $500 for a little video camera. Had everything set up right but at times the camera freezes (like when deleting files). The only recourse is to pull out the battery...and lose all of the settings. The camera stopped in the middle of the wedding!!! NO!! Bottom line, great toy but be very familiar with it before doing anything truly important.
