after reading many reviews and alot of research my son decided the gopro hero 6 was for him. it has a few cons that aren't deal breakers BUT they do need to address them if they want to get this kind of money for it. It continually freezes up especially when using under water which is very annoying. Sometimes you have to take the battery out and reset to get it to work again. The battery life is not the worst but it isn't the greatest either. He gets about 2 hours before a recharge is necessary. The video is awesome and has had no issues with them. He really likes the transfer speed from camera to his apple phone. Yes he would recommend this to a friend

Whether snow skiing, water skiing, scuba diving, deep sea fishing, sky diving or any basic outdoor activity this is a great and easy to operate camera.

This is truly great product. The camera itself, the SW that is downloadable free with it, mobile app and also the smart remote creates a package that fulfills my needs quite completely. My usage is done mostly with motorcycling and available choices with resolutions and frame rates are covering all my use cases. Fifth star is gone for battery life, and especially so when using time lapse mode. For action filming it's sufficient, your hottest action seldom goes on more than two hours but to get nice time lapses you would need more life span - could be done with enhanced SW shutting down the camera in between the time lapse frames...

So far so good. My husband has concerns with battery life, but he thinks it’s because he’s recording in Hi Def mode. Definitely great for his intentions to record his races (he’s a marathon runner :-).

This camera is simply great. However it is a bit pricy, so if you are not into 4K@60fps are things like that, you are better off buying the Hero 5 or even the Hero 4. Those are great cameras as well.

The GoPro Hero 6 Black is the best GoPro yet. Even if you don't film at 4K 60fps, the improved color and image stabilization will make your videos pop. There are still some bugs that the tech support is slow to fix, which is why I'm deducting a star for the poor technical support.

I love this go pro. I've had two in the past and this one is the best, yet. The picture quality is great. The battery Life is great. The image stabilization is AMAZING! Definitely worth it!

This has been a tremendous camera! Great clear picture band the 60 FPS has really helped with fast motion.

Great camera with a lot of great features but if you want to have full capabilities with 4K and frame rate, make sure you have latest software and hardware for your phone or computer to edit. Otherwise, you’ll have to stick with 1080 if your compy isn’t fast enough.

I absolutely love this product! Creates excellent videos and takes awesome pictures. I used this to capture videos and pictures of my vacation with whitewater rafting, kayaking, and ziplining. The only reason I do not give it 5 stars is because sometimes it freezes and takes some time to shut off. I found it easiest to just press the record button to start and stop the video rather than turning it on and off every time (with that being my default setting).

I've tried multiple action cameras and this GoPro HERO6 with it's touch screen has been to most reliable and easy to use of the bunch by far. You can customize settings to optimize for post production editing (i.e. color balancing, LUTs and contrast/exposure) or can be left on system defaults for an easy "shoot and upload" style. Waterproof to 33ft without a case?! Bonus! Don't think about it. Buy it.

The GoPro 6 Black is an excellent action camera at the $400 pricepoint. All the missing items from the earlier generation cameras are addressed in this model. It no longer requires the plastic case for underwater video, as this camera is waterproof already. Say goodbye to the muffled audio in the earlier Hero models which needed to be encased in the housing. Also, this version includes an HD viewfinder, making it much more easy to use. It also adds a zoom feature which the GoPro 4 versions lacked. This is a great camera with outstanding video quality.

This thing is amazing. Great shots great quality ... and ohhh man the IS on it is insane.

Coming from a GoPro 4 Black, the touch screen menus and image stabilization is a huge improvement. I just finished a week of using this for POV driver videos in my Jeep on Moab trails and they feel far more realistic with the image stabilization than similar videos on the 4 Black. Only reason I’m Not giving it 5 stars is due to it randomly disconnecting from my iPhone 7 Plus and refusing to reconnect until it randomly decided to connect with me not making any changes, numerous times through the week. No idea if that’s an iPhone or GoPro fault.
