Trying to operate a GoPro w/o the screen requires a degree (or at least a great memory). You have basically just 2 buttons to control a myriad of various settings, options, and camera operation. If you try to have someone else take a video and say - "here, just press this button" it works so long as they touch nothing else and don't doulbe press while waiting for power up or something. One inadvertant press can put you into menus you'll never get out of. The LCD back makes it a breeze with visibility to what's going on and easier control of options and settings. Seeing the picutre is a plus, but for me it's mostly about simpler operation. Unfortunately, the back adds a good amount of thickness and weight to the unit, and precludes using a battery back pack. The camera alreayd has fairly short battery life, adding the LCD makes it worse, and you can't piggyback the battery pack and LCD together. Looks like the latest top of the line GP has the LCD built in now - finally!

Was on the fence about buying the touch BacPac for months, and finally purchased it a few weeks back. Highly recommend the product for anyone considering buying. Like most people, I had previously used the GoPro app for my view-finding needs, and although it works great, it's a huge battery drainer on both my phone and the camera. Having the ability to set up shots without the hassle of connecting to the camera is a huge plus in my book, not to mention you have the ability to review and configure your videos/photos/settings as well. Definitely a purchase well made.

Couldn't wait to get my Hero4. Because I'm a professional photojournalist I have had to find ways to utilize my GoPro cameras. The new design of the interactive menu, the new features like Quickcapture and Hilight Tag only adds to the creative genius of this product. Because I don't water ski or surf or skateboard, I have found great uses of my GoPro at events where having a camera placed on a podium like a media mic gives me great audio as well as video to boot. What I like best about the system is the GoPro Studio editing software. The quality challenges what I get with my full-frame Canon 5D Mark III and that's saying something.

Good unit, only downfall is that it says for GoPro 3 but the 3 spare backs that the kit comes with are for GoPro 4, had to get in touch with GoPro customer care to get the right ones,otherwise good buy.

I absolutely love this feature. The touch screen makes everything from playback viewing to editing videos. Just love it. Hero5 should come with this integrated, now that would be cool.

I love this screen makes recording alot easier and having playback is awesome. This actually exceeded my expectations. I won a gopro hero 4 black and had trouble recording before I got this screen the app was OK to use but not for me. The only bad part is battery life with the screen and overheating after long use in 4k or high framerates. Overall tho I really love this thing and my gopro 4 can't quit using it. I can't wait til the weather breaks so I can get some fun videos. I recommend this to anyone who has the gopro black just make sure you have a few extra spare batteries and are careful with when it gets real hot

This is an accessory that should be included with the hero. It is indispensable. The touch bacpac comes with several case backs for the waterproof case and the skeleton case. It is well made and reacts well to touch. It also comes with a storage case as well for the screen. The included speaker which is a part of the touch screen is very good and clear with better than adequate volume. All in all a very well made product that seems to be durable too. Fits very well on the back of the camera. KOODOS to them for this product. A definite Buy!!

I love the LCD back in that it helps in setting up shots in an instant, such as child blowing bubbles. The only thing is that it reduces your battery life, so be prepared with extra batteries and portable charging units if you want a whole day use.

My wife spent $500 for a Hero4 Black for a Christmas present for me. I was shocked when I opened it and discovered there was not a color screen. I guess that's our fault for not doing more research on the different GoPro models, she just went into the store and bought the most expensive one she could find. It's disappointing to have to spend another $80 for this accessory, but to me the camera is almost useless without it. I wanted it mostly for underwater snorkeling videos, and I can't imagine trying to frame a shot without a view screen. Well worth the money but for the price of the Hero4 Black I feel like this should either be built-in, or be included with the camera.

indispensable complement for the Go Pro 4 Black does not come with built-in LCD. It fits perfectly to the camera and easy to use. It is really small, but enough to see your shots instantly. I´m really happy with my purchase.

The LCD pack is a much needed accessory It provides previews to all your pictures and videos. What's nice about it is that it is touch screen. Downside of it is it kills your battery life rather quickly. Overall great product.

I love it. Was always difficult to take pictures without seeing what you're pointing at or having to have the go pro app on your phone. It will decrease battery life so plan wisely. Overall great purchase.

Hero 4 black is one of the best adventure video cameras on the market. The compact size allows you to take it anywhere. Waterproof cases, and virtually hundreds of ways to mount it. (bikes, helmets, chest mounts, car mounts, dog harness mounts, etc) You can take amazing footage anywhere. The only drawback is the battery life. 2 hours. Thankfully GoPro came out with the battery backpac that gives an additional 8 hours of life. NIght time lapse photos are amazing! You won't be sorry if you're someone that loves to take pictures and videos of your exciting adventures!

This is a must have accessory for any go pro. It may eat up battery but its less than if you have it paired via wireless. Plus, its more accurate.

The touch bacpac is a great addition if you dont want to shoot using your phone all the time. Does use more battery but if you have a gopro you knnow u need extra batteries ;)

I usually use my phone connected to my GoPro Hero 4 black to frame my shots but it has not been practical to use since I started using a gimbal. It's definitely a must have.

GoPro and my iPhone don't like to talk over Wifi, I believe that's mostly from interference. My signal only ever drops when I need it to work vs just playing around and setting up. Finally I went and got this LCD so I wouldn't have to rely on the app. I still use and love the app, but now I never have to worry about losing connection at those critical moments. The LCD does use a lot of battery so I have a quick time-out setting. I find I can get a longer battery life with short use of the LCD and no wifi vs using wifi and the app with no LCD. I'm glad this came with all the back door attachments for in and out of water. It is hard to use the touch screen with the waterproof case that covers the screen, but using the buttons to scroll / select is a decent alternative. I also love the button on the side of the LCD that brings you to a playback screen for your recordings and pictures.

So perfect! Turns my go pro into a touch screen!! Only thing that is a flaw is the fact that it drains my battery so much quicker but it's so worth it!

Definitely helps a lot to have this to be able to view what you are shooting, unless you like guessing where you are aiming the camera. Hurts that this helps contributing to the camera overheating.

Adding the touch BacPac to a GoPro camera makes it much easier to get good photos, especially underwater. While just pointing and shooting can get some fairly good results with a GoPro, being able to see your subject greatly improves your photos and movies. In addition, you can play back your shots and easily see menu choices. The touch BacPac is definitely worth the reasonable $80 cost.
