Very cheap quality construction. Even with volume turned almost to max, had to put microphone against mouth to make a sound. Returned this product.

This Karaoke machine was a Christmas gift for our 8 year-old. She absolutely loved it! It was easy to use, and the sound quality was great, but after 3 months the monitor stopped working. I had purchased the additional 1 year warranty for it, which was helpful when I returned it and found out that the manufacturer's warranty is only 30 days. I also learned that once you redeem your purchased warranty for a product, that warranty is no longer valid for the replacement. You must purchase a new warranty. This information is listed in the pamphlet I was given when I purchased the extended warranty so I can not say I was not informed. I just hope that the replacement doesn't go out on us because I didn't purchase another warranty.

My 11 year old daughter got this machine for Christmas and she loves it!! It is very simple to use, she figured it out all by herself. She uses it to play cds and it sounds really good. The mic seems good, for an at home type of thing, but the holder has broken already...it was a little thin, but all around we are very happy with it!

We made the mistake of buying a singing machine for our daughter for Christmas the reviews were so mixed but as soon as we plugged it in and it sounded more like Rice Crispies we knew we went wrong. So back to Toys R Us we went to return it. Thank heavens I spotted this gem while picking up a last minute gift on Christmas Eve. I quick got on the reviews Christmas day and everybody seemed to really like it and it was only $10 more than the other machine. I ran in to find they only had one left, snatched that baby up! As soon as we got it home we tore into it. WOW what a difference the sound is clear even while singing. The microphone is very obvious a better quality. My daughter loves that whens he gets lost it will sing the two words she is on to tell her where she should be. :) The whole family loved it. Great buy so far!

I bought this for our small karaoke gatherings for adults, so we were pretty mindful in its handling. I say that because a lot of people buy these machines for small children, which explains the short life span of the machine. But our unit just didnt last longer than 3 months with just normal usage of a few times a month. The mic outputs went first, and the microphones would sound horribly scratchy, then the first output went kaput soon after. It's not usable anymore, and we are in the market for something more reliable. Too bad, the sound quality was pretty good, and the voice controls were great...while they lasted.

it's was great present for my child because she loves to sing and learns how to read also.

Everything about this unit is nice EXCEPT THE SCREEN. It is an old school, black and white tv screen - a CRT screen. It was fine for the first 3 or 4 minutes but then the screen would start rolling horizontally. (If you don't know what I'm talking about, ask your parents or grandparents). There is a "horizontal hold" button on the back of the unit but that didn't quite get the job done. It seemed like if we could have turned the knob another half or whole turn it would fix the horizontal bouncing, but we couldn't turn it any more. We'd shut the unit off and try again later. Same scenario. OK for 3-4 minutes then horizontal bouncing. Knob makes it better but doesn't fix it. Repeated this about a half dozen times over a couple of days with no success. Everything else about this unit is nice; good sound, nice mic, etc., but with a bogus screen, what's the point? This Christmas present sadly got returned to the store.

This is the second GPX karaoke machine we have purchased as a Christmas gift for our daughter and neither worked. The first was a different model and purchased from another retailer and the volume didn't work. We returned it, but they were sold out and we couldn't get a replacement. We located this model at Best Buy and decided to take a chance because the sales staff assured us that they had not had any of this model returned. We're sorry we did. This time the volume worked, but the screen did not display the lyrics--just junk that no amount of adjustment would correct. A different cd-g did not make a difference. Our daughter is so disappointed that she doesn't even want to try to find another machine. I would not recommend the GPX brand at all. We'll see what happens when we try to return it.

Although our granddaughter loved it, the screen did not display the words no matter which CD-G we used. The instructions are extremely poor. Very disappointing at any price.
